Luke

1And it came to pass thereafter, that he was going through every city and village, preaching and proclaiming good news of the reign of God, and the twelve [are] with him,

2and certain women, who were healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary who is called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone forth,

3and Joanna wife of Chuza, steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to him from their substance.

4And a great multitude having gathered, and those who from city and city were coming unto him, he spake by a simile:

5'The sower went forth to sow his seed, and in his sowing some indeed fell beside the way, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the heaven did devour it.

6'And other fell upon the rock, and having sprung up, it did wither, through not having moisture.

7'And other fell amidst the thorns, and the thorns having sprung up with it, did choke it.

8'And other fell upon the good ground, and having sprung up, it made fruit an hundred fold.' These things saying, he was calling, 'He having ears to hear — let him hear.'

9And his disciples were questioning him, saying, 'What may this simile be?'

10And he said, 'To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of God, and to the rest in similes; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

11'And this is the simile: The seed is the word of God,

12and those beside the way are those hearing, then cometh the Devil, and taketh up the word from their heart, lest having believed, they may be saved.

13'And those upon the rock: They who, when they may hear, with joy do receive the word, and these have no root, who for a time believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

14'And that which fell to the thorns: These are they who have heard, and going forth, through anxieties, and riches, and pleasures of life, are choked, and bear not to completion.

15'And that in the good ground: These are they, who in an upright and good heart, having heard the word, do retain [it], and bear fruit in continuance.

16'And no one having lighted a lamp doth cover it with a vessel, or under a couch doth put [it]; but upon a lamp-stand he doth put [it], that those coming in may see the light,

17for nothing is secret, that shall not become manifest, nor hid, that shall not be known, and become manifest.

18'See, therefore, how ye hear, for whoever may have, there shall be given to him, and whoever may not have, also what he seemeth to have, shall be taken from him.'

19And there came unto him his mother and brethren, and they were not able to get to him because of the multitude,

20and it was told him, saying, 'Thy mother and thy brethren do stand without, wishing to see thee;'

21and he answering said unto them, 'My mother and my brethren! they are those who the word of God are hearing, and doing.'

22And it came to pass, on one of the days, that he himself went into a boat with his disciples, and he said unto them, 'We may go over to the other side of the lake;' and they set forth,

23and as they are sailing he fell deeply asleep, and there came down a storm of wind to the lake, and they were filling, and were in peril.

24And having come near, they awoke him, saying, 'Master, master, we perish;' and he, having arisen, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there came a calm,

25and he said to them, 'Where is your faith?' and they being afraid did wonder, saying unto one another, 'Who, then, is this, that even the winds he doth command, and the water, and they obey him?'

26And they sailed down to the region of the Gadarenes, that is over-against Galilee,

27and he having gone forth upon the land, there met him a certain man, out of the city, who had demons for a long time, and with a garment was not clothed, and in a house was not abiding, but in the tombs,

28and having seen Jesus, and having cried out, he fell before him, and with a loud voice, said, 'What — to me and to thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beseech thee, mayest thou not afflict me!'

29For he commanded the unclean spirit to come forth from the man, for many times it had caught him, and he was being bound with chains and fetters — guarded, and breaking asunder the bonds he was driven by the demons to the deserts.

30And Jesus questioned him, saying, 'What is thy name?' and he said, 'Legion,' (because many demons were entered into him,)

31and he was calling on him, that he may not command them to go away to the abyss,

32and there was there a herd of many swine feeding in the mountain, and they were calling on him, that he might suffer them to enter into these, and he suffered them,

33and the demons having gone forth from the man, did enter into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep to the lake, and were choked.

34And those feeding [them], having seen what was come to pass, fled, and having gone, told [it] to the city, and to the fields;

35and they came forth to see what was come to pass, and they came unto Jesus, and found the man sitting, out of whom the demons had gone forth, clothed, and right-minded, at the feet of Jesus, and they were afraid;

36and those also having seen [it], told them how the demoniac was saved.

37And the whole multitude of the region of the Gadarenes round about asked him to go away from them, because with great fear they were pressed, and he having entered into the boat, did turn back.

38And the man from whom the demons had gone forth was beseeching of him to be with him, and Jesus sent him away, saying,

39'Turn back to thy house, and tell how great things God did to thee;' and he went away through all the city proclaiming how great things Jesus did to him.

40And it came to pass, in the turning back of Jesus, the multitude received him, for they were all looking for him,

41and lo, there came a man, whose name [is] Jairus, and he was a chief of the synagogue, and having fallen at the feet of Jesus, was calling on him to come to his house;

42because he had an only daughter about twelve years [old], and she was dying. And in his going away, the multitudes were thronging him,

43and a woman, having an issue of blood for twelve years, who, having spent on physicians all her living, was not able to be healed by any,

44having come near behind, touched the fringe of his garment, and presently the issue of her blood stood.

45And Jesus said, 'Who [is] it that touched me?' and all denying, Peter and those with him said, 'Master, the multitudes press thee, and throng [thee], and thou dost say, Who [is] it that touched me!'

46And Jesus said, 'Some one did touch me, for I knew power having gone forth from me.'

47And the woman, having seen that she was not hid, trembling, came, and having fallen before him, for what cause she touched him declared to him before all the people, and how she was healed presently;

48and he said to her, 'Take courage, daughter, thy faith hath saved thee, be going on to peace.'

49While he is yet speaking, there doth come a certain one from the chief of the synagogue's [house], saying to him — 'Thy daughter hath died, harass not the Teacher;'

50and Jesus having heard, answered him, saying, 'Be not afraid, only believe, and she shall be saved.'

51And having come to the house, he suffered no one to go in, except Peter, and James, and John, and the father of the child, and the mother;

52and they were all weeping, and beating themselves for her, and he said, 'Weep not, she did not die, but doth sleep;

53and they were deriding him, knowing that she did die;

54and he having put all forth without, and having taken hold of her hand, called, saying, 'Child, arise;'

55and her spirit came back, and she arose presently, and he directed that there be given to her to eat;

56and her parents were amazed, but he charged them to say to no one what was come to pass.

Các Phụ Nữ Theo Chúa Giê-xu

1Sau đó, Chúa Giê-xu đi khắp các thành phố, làng mạc, công bố Phúc Âm về Nước của Đức Chúa Trời. Mười hai sứ đồ cùng đi với Ngài.

2Nhiều phụ nữ từng được Chúa đuổi quỷ, chữa bệnh, cũng đi theo Ngài. Trong số đó có Ma-ri Ma-đơ-len, người được Chúa giải thoát khỏi bảy quỷ;

3Gian-nơ, vợ Chu-xa, quản lý hoàng cung Hê-rốt; Su-danh, và nhiều bà khác nữa, đã dâng tiền ủng hộ Chúa Giê-xu và các môn đệ.

Ẩn Dụ Người Gieo Giống

4Một đoàn dân đông từ nhiều thành phố kéo nhau đến tụ họp chung quanh Chúa Giê-xu. Ngài dạy họ ẩn dụ này:

5“Một người ra đồng gieo lúa. Khi vãi hạt giống, có hạt rơi trên đường mòn, bị người ta dẫm lên, rồi chim ăn sạch.

6Có hạt rơi nhằm lớp đất mỏng phủ trên đá, cây mọc lên khô héo ngay, vì thiếu hơi ẩm.

7Có hạt rơi vào giữa bụi gai, bị gai mọc lên chặn nghẹt.

8Nhưng hạt gieo vào đất tốt, lớn lên kết quả gấp trăm lần.” Khi nói những lời này, Chúa gọi lớn: “Ai có tai để nghe, hãy lắng nghe!”

9Các môn đệ xin Chúa giải thích ý nghĩa ẩn dụ.

10Chúa đáp: “Đức Chúa Trời cho các con hiểu huyền nhiệm về Nước của Đức Chúa Trời. Nhưng Ta dùng ẩn dụ để dạy những người khác để ứng nghiệm lời Thánh Kinh đã chép:‘Họ nhìn mà không thấy.Họ nghe mà không hiểu.’

11Đây là ý nghĩa của ẩn dụ: Hạt giống là Đạo Đức Chúa Trời.

12Những hạt rơi trên đường mòn là Đạo gieo vào lòng người cứng cỏi, bị ma quỷ đến cướp đi, không cho họ tin nhận để được cứu.

13Hạt giống rơi nơi lớp đất mỏng phủ trên đá tượng trưng cho người nghe Đạo liền vui lòng tiếp nhận, nhưng quá hời hợt, mầm sống không vào sâu trong lòng. Khi bị cám dỗ, họ liền bỏ Đạo.

14Hạt giống rơi nhằm bụi gai là những người nghe Đạo nhưng mãi lo âu về đời này, ham mê phú quý và lạc thú trần gian, làm cho Đạo bị nghẹt ngòi, nên họ không thể giúp người khác tin nhận Phúc Âm.

15Hạt giống gieo vào đất tốt là những người thành tâm vâng phục, nghe Đạo liền tin nhận và kiên tâm phổ biến cho nhiều người cùng tin.”

Ẩn Dụ về Ngọn đèn

16“Không ai thắp đèn rồi đậy kín, nhưng đem đặt trên giá đèn để soi sáng mọi người trong nhà.

17Chẳng có gì che kín mãi, tất cả các điều bí mật sẽ bị phơi bày trước ánh sáng.

18Vậy hãy thận trọng về cách các con nghe, vì ai có sẽ được cho thêm, còn ai không có, dù tưởng mình có gì cũng bị mất luôn.”

Gia Đình Thật của Chúa Giê-xu

19Mẹ và các em của Chúa Giê-xu đến tìm Ngài, nhưng đông người quá, không đến gần Ngài được.

20Có người thưa với Chúa: “Mẹ và các em Thầy đang chờ bên ngoài, muốn gặp Thầy.”

21Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Mẹ và em Ta là những người nghe và làm theo lời Đức Chúa Trời.”

Chúa Giê-xu Dẹp Cơn Bão

22Một hôm, Chúa Giê-xu bảo các môn đệ: “Chúng ta hãy qua bên kia bờ hồ.” Vậy, họ bước vào thuyền và chèo đi.

23Khi thuyền đang chạy, Chúa Giê-xu nằm ngủ. Thình lình, một cơn bão nổi lên, nước tràn vào thuyền thật nguy ngập.

24Các môn đệ đến đánh thức Ngài dậy, hớt hải thưa: “Thầy ơi, chúng ta chết mất!” Chúa Giê-xu thức dậy quở sóng gió. Sóng gió liền ngưng; biển lặng yên.

25Chúa hỏi các môn đệ: “Đức tin các con ở đâu?” Mọi người đều kinh ngạc, sợ hãi bảo nhau: “Người là ai, mà có quyền lực bảo sóng gió phải vâng lời Người!”

Chúa Giê-xu Chữa Lành Người Bị Quỷ Ám

26Thuyền cập bến vùng Ga-đa-ren, phía Đông biển Ga-li-lê.

27Chúa vừa lên bờ, một người bị quỷ ám trong thành đến gặp Ngài. Từ lâu, anh sống lang thang ngoài nghĩa địa, không nhà cửa, không quần áo.

28Vừa thấy Chúa và nghe Ngài ra lệnh đuổi quỷ, anh hét lớn, quỳ xuống trước mặt Ngài, kêu la: “Giê-xu, Con Đức Chúa Trời Chí Cao, Ngài định làm gì tôi? Tôi van Ngài đừng hành hạ tôi!”

29Trước kia quỷ thường điều khiển anh, dù anh bị còng tay xiềng chân, quỷ cũng xúi anh bẻ còng bứt xiềng, chạy vào hoang mạc.

30Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Mầy tên gì?” Đáp: “Quân Đoàn”—vì có rất nhiều quỷ ở trong người ấy.

31Bọn quỷ năn nỉ Chúa đừng đuổi chúng xuống vực sâu.

32Trên sườn núi có bầy heo đông đang ăn, bọn quỷ xin Chúa cho chúng nhập vào bầy heo. Vậy Chúa Giê-xu cho phép.

33Chúng liền ra khỏi người bị ám, nhập vào bầy heo. Bầy heo đua nhau lao đầu qua bờ đá rơi xuống biển, chết chìm tất cả.

34Bọn chăn heo liền chạy vào thành phố và thôn xóm gần đó báo tin.

35Dân chúng đổ ra xem. Họ đến gần Chúa, thấy người vốn bị quỷ ám, áo quần tươm tất, trí óc tỉnh táo, đang ngồi dưới chân Chúa Giê-xu, thì khiếp sợ.

36Những người chứng kiến việc đuổi quỷ thuật lại mọi chi tiết.

37Quá kinh hãi, tất cả dân chúng vùng Ga-đa-ren xin Chúa Giê-xu đi nơi khác. Vậy, Chúa Giê-xu xuống thuyền trở qua bờ bên kia.

38Người vốn bị quỷ ám xin đi theo. Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu không cho, Ngài bảo:

39“Hãy về nhà, thuật lại những việc lạ lùng Đức Chúa Trời đã làm cho con.” Người ấy đi khắp thành phố công bố việc lớn lao Chúa Giê-xu đã làm cho mình.

Chúa Giê-xu Chữa Lành trong Sự Đáp Ứng Đức Tin

40Trở lại bờ bên kia, Chúa Giê-xu được dân chúng đón tiếp, vì họ chờ đợi Ngài.

41Giai-ru, viên quản lý hội đường đến quỳ dưới chân Chúa Giê-xu, khẩn khoản mời Ngài về nhà,

42vì đứa con gái duy nhất của ông lên mười hai tuổi đang hấp hối. Khi đi đường, dân chúng chen lấn chung quanh Chúa.

43Trong đám đông có một phụ nữ bị bệnh rong huyết mười hai năm, đã chạy chữa nhiều thầy lắm thuốc, nhưng không lành.

44Bà đến sau lưng Chúa, sờ trôn áo Ngài, lập tức huyết cầm lại.

45Chúa Giê-xu hỏi: “Ai sờ đến Ta vậy?” Không thấy ai nhận, Phi-e-rơ lên tiếng: “Thưa Thầy, biết bao nhiêu người đang chen lấn quanh Thầy mà!”

46Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Có người vừa sờ áo Ta, vì Ta biết có quyền lực trong Ta phát ra.”

47Biết không thể giấu được nữa, người phụ nữ run rẩy đến quỳ trước mặt Chúa, thưa thật giữa công chúng tại sao mình đã sờ áo Chúa và lập tức được lành.

48Chúa phán: “Con ơi, đức tin con đã chữa cho con lành. Hãy về nhà bình an!”

49Khi Chúa còn đang nói, người nhà Giai-ru đến báo tin: “Con gái ông chết rồi, đừng làm phiền Thầy nữa!”

50Nghe tin ấy, Chúa Giê-xu bảo Giai-ru: “Đừng sợ, cứ vững lòng tin, con ông sẽ được lành.”

51Đến nhà, Chúa Giê-xu không cho ai vào, ngoài Phi-e-rơ, Gia-cơ, Giăng, và cha mẹ cô bé.

52Cả nhà đang than khóc kêu la, nhưng Chúa phán: “Đừng khóc nữa! Em bé chỉ ngủ chứ không chết đâu!”

53Nhưng đám đông quay lại chế nhạo Ngài, vì biết cô bé đã chết rồi.

54Chúa nắm tay cô bé, gọi: “Dậy đi, con!”

55Cô bé sống lại, liền đứng dậy. Chúa Giê-xu bảo cho nó ăn.

56Cha mẹ cô bé quá ngạc nhiên, nhưng Chúa dặn đừng nói cho ai biết.
