Genesis

1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in God’s likeness.

2He created them male and female, and blessed them. On the day they were created, he named them Adam.

3Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

4The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.

5All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, then he died.

6Seth lived one hundred and five years, then became the father of Enosh.

7Seth lived after he became the father of Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

8All of the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, then he died.

9Enosh lived ninety years, and became the father of Kenan.

10Enosh lived after he became the father of Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

11All of the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, then he died.

12Kenan lived seventy years, then became the father of Mahalalel.

13Kenan lived after he became the father of Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years, and became the father of other sons and daughters

14and all of the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years, then he died.

15Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, then became the father of Jared.

16Mahalalel lived after he became the father of Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

17All of the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, then he died.

18Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, then became the father of Enoch.

19Jared lived after he became the father of Enoch eight hundred years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

20All of the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, then he died.

21Enoch lived sixty-five years, then became the father of Methuselah.

22After Methuselah’s birth, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

23All the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.

24Enoch walked with God, and he was not found, for God took him.

25Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, then became the father of Lamech.

26Methuselah lived after he became the father of Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

27All the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, then he died.

28Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, then became the father of a son.

29He named him Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, caused by the ground which the LORD has cursed.”

30Lamech lived after he became the father of Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.

31All the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, then he died.

32Noah was five hundred years old, then Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

8Tổng cộng ông Sết sống được chín trăm mười hai năm, rồi qua đời.

9Khi ông E-nốt được chín mươi tuổi, thì sinh ra Kê-nan.

10Sau khi sinh Kê-nan, ông E-nốt sống tám trăm mười lăm năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

11Tổng cộng ông E-nốt sống được chín trăm lẻ năm năm, rồi qua đời.

12Khi ông Kê-nan được bảy mươi tuổi, thì sinh ra Ma-ha-lan-ên.

13Sau khi sinh Ma-ha-lan-ên, ông Kê-nan sống tám trăm bốn mươi năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

14Tổng cộng ông Kê-nan sống được chín trăm mười năm, rồi qua đời.

15Khi ông Ma-ha-lan-ên được sáu mươi lăm tuổi, thì sinh ra Gie-rét.

16Sau khi sinh Gie-rét, ông Ma-ha-lan-ên sống tám trăm ba mươi năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

17Tổng cộng ông Ma-ha-lan-ên sống được tám trăm chín mươi lăm năm, rồi qua đời.

18Khi ông Gie-rét sống được một trăm sáu mươi hai tuổi, thì sinh ra Kha-nốc.

19Sau khi sinh Kha-nốc, ông Gie-rét sống tám trăm năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

20Tổng cộng ông Gie-rét sống được chín trăm sáu mươi hai năm, rồi qua đời.

21Khi ông Kha-nốc được sáu mươi lăm tuổi, thì sinh ra Mơ-thu-se-lác.

22Sau khi sinh Mơ-thu-se-lác, ông Kha-nốc đi với Thiên Chúa ba trăm năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

23Tổng cộng ông Kha-nốc sống được ba trăm sáu mươi lăm năm.

24Sau khi đi với Thiên Chúa, ông không còn nữa, vì Thiên Chúa đã đem ông đi.

25Khi ông Mơ-thu-se-lác được một trăm tám mươi bảy tuổi, thì sinh ra La-méc.

26Sau khi sinh La-méc, ông Mơ-thu-se-lác sống bảy trăm tám mươi hai năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

27Tổng cộng ông Mơ-thu-se-lác sống được chín trăm sáu mươi chín năm, rồi qua đời.

28Khi ông La-méc sống được một trăm tám mươi hai tuổi, thì sinh ra một người con trai.

29Ông đặt tên cho con là Nô-ê ; ông nói : “Khi tay chúng ta phải làm lụng cực nhọc, thì trẻ này sẽ đem lại cho chúng ta niềm an ủi phát xuất từ đất đai ĐỨC CHÚA đã nguyền rủa.”

30Sau khi sinh ông Nô-ê, ông La-méc sống năm trăm chín mươi lăm năm và sinh ra con trai con gái.

31Tổng cộng ông La-méc sống được bảy trăm bảy mươi bảy năm, rồi qua đời.

32Khi ông Nô-ê được năm trăm tuổi, thì sinh ra Sêm, Kham và Gia-phét.
