Thời Kỳ Cuối Cùng

1Con nên biết trong thời kỳ cuối cùng sẽ có những giai đoạn khó khăn.

2Vì người ta đều vị kỷ, tham tiền, khoe khoang, hợm hĩnh, phỉ báng, nghịch cha mẹ, phụ bạc, vô đạo,

3không tình nghĩa, thù hằn, gièm pha, trụy lạc, hung dữ, ghét điều lành,

4phản trắc, liều lĩnh, kiêu ngạo, ưa lạc thú hơn yêu mến Chúa,

5mặt ngoài thì đạo đức, nhưng trong lòng chối bỏ quyền năng đạo đức. Con nên tránh xa họ.

6Trong số ấy, có những kẻ lẻn vào nhà người khác để chinh phục các phụ nữ khờ dại, cưu mang tội lỗi, buông thả theo tình dục,

7học mãi mà không bao giờ hiểu biết chân lý.

8Như Gian-ne và Giam-bết chống nghịch Môi-se ngày xưa, họ cứ chống đối chân lý—tâm trí họ hư hỏng, đức tin bị chìm đắm.

9Nhưng họ không thể phá hoại được nữa, vì mưu gian bị bại lộ, cũng như hai người kia.

Lời Khuyên Ti-mô-thê

10Riêng phần con, con đã theo sát lời dạy, nếp sống, chí hướng, đức tin, chịu đựng, yêu thương, kiên nhẫn,

11cũng như những cơn bức hại, khổ nhục của ta tại An-ti-ốt, Y-cô-ni, và Lít-trơ. Ta đã chịu mọi hoạn nạn nhưng Chúa đã giải thoát ta.

12Thật vậy, mọi người muốn sống đạo đức trong Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu đều sẽ bị bức hại.

13Còn những người gian ác, giả mạo càng thêm xấu xa, lừa gạt người rồi bị người lừa gạt.

14Con cứ tiếp tục thực hành những điều đã học tập và tin nhận vì con biết ai đã dạy con.

15Từ tuổi ấu thơ, con biết Thánh Kinh có năng lực đào tạo con nên người khôn ngoan để tiếp nhận ân cứu rỗi do đức tin nơi Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu.

16Cả Thánh Kinh đều được Đức Chúa Trời cảm ứng, có ích cho việc dạy dỗ, khiển trách, sửa trị, đào luyện con người theo sự công chính.

17Nhờ đó, người của Đức Chúa Trời được trang bị, có khả năng làm mọi việc lành.

Evil in the Last Days

1But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come.

2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

3unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good,

4traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!

6They are the kind who worm their way into households and captivate vulnerable women who are weighed down with sins and led astray by various passions,

7who are always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses,so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith.

9But they will not advance much further. For just like Jannes and Jambres, their folly will be plain to everyone.

All Scripture Is God-Breathed

10You, however, have observed my teaching, my conduct, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my perseverance,

11my persecutions, and the sufferings that came upon me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.

12Indeed, all who desire to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

13while evil men and imposters go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

14But as for you, continue in the things you have learned and firmly believed, since you know from whom you have learned them.

15From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

17so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
