Psalms

For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

1We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.

2When I shall find the set time, I will judge uprightly.

3The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have set up the pillars of it. [Selah

4I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

5Lift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck.

6For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.

7But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.

8For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foameth; It is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.

9But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

1Hỡi Đức Chúa Trời, chúng tôi cảm tạ Chúa; Chúng tôi cảm tạ vì danh Chúa ở gần: Người ta thuật lại công việc lạ lùng của Chúa.

2Khi ta đến thì giờ đã định, Thì sẽ đoán xét cách ngay thẳng.

3Đất với dân ở trên đất đều tan chảy; Còn ta đã dựng lên các trụ nó.

4Tôi nói cùng kẻ kiêu ngạo rằng: Chớ ở cách kiêu ngạo; Lại nói cùng kẻ ác rằng: Chớ ngước sừng lên;

5Chớ ngước sừng các ngươi cao lên, Cũng đừng cứng cổ mà nói cách k” khôi.

6Vì chẳng phải từ phương đông, phương tây, Hay là từ phương nam, mà có sự tôn cao đến.

7Bèn là Đức Chúa Trời đoán xét: Ngài hạ kẻ nầy xuống, nhắc kẻ kia lên.

8Vì trong tay Đức Giê-hô-va có cái chén Sôi bọt rượu; chén ấy đầy rượu pha, Ngài rót nó ra: thật hết thảy kẻ ác nơi thế gian sẽ hút cặn rượu ấy, Và uống nó.

9Song tôi sẽ thuật lại các điều đó luôn luôn, Cũng sẽ hát ngợi khen Đức Chúa Trời của Gia-cốp.

10Tôi sẽ chặt hết thảy các sừng kẻ ác; Còn các sừng của người công bình sẽ được ngước lên.
