1And the lot for the tribe of the sons of Judah, for their families, is unto the border of Edom; the wilderness of Zin southward, at the extremity of the south;

2and to them the south border is at the extremity of the salt sea, from the bay which is looking southward;

3and it hath gone out unto the south to Maaleh-Akrabbim, and passed over to Zin, and gone up on the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and passed over [to] Hezron, and gone up to Adar, and turned round to Karkaa,

4and passed over [to] Azmon, and gone out [at] the brook of Egypt, and the outgoings of the border have been at the sea; this is to you the south border.

5And the east border [is] the salt sea, unto the extremity of the Jordan, and the border at the north quarter [is] from the bay of the sea, at the extremity of the Jordan;

6and the border hath gone up [to] Beth-Hoglah, and passed over on the north of Beth-Arabah, and the border hath gone up [to] the stone of Bohan son of Reuben:

7and the border hath gone up towards Debir from the valley of Achor, and northward looking unto Gilgal, which [is] over-against the ascent of Adummim, which [is] on the south of the brook, and the border hath passed over unto the waters of En-Shemesh, and its outgoings have been unto En-Rogel;

8and the border hath gone up the valley of the son of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite on the south (it [is] Jerusalem), and the border hath gone up unto the top of the hill-country which [is] on the front of the valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] in the extremity of the valley of the Rephaim northward;

9and the border hath been marked out, from the top of the hill-country unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and hath gone out unto the cities of mount Ephron, and the border hath been marked out [to] Baalah, (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim);

10and the border hath gone round from Baalah westward, unto mount Seir, and passed over unto the side of mount Jearim (it [is] Chesalon), on the north, and gone down [to] Beth-Shemesh, and passed over to Timnah;

11and the border hath gone out unto the side of Ekron northward, and the border hath been marked out [to] Shicron, and hath passed over to mount Baalah, and gone out [to] Jabneel; and the outgoings of the border have been at the sea.

12And the west border [is] to the great sea, and [its] border; this [is] the border of the sons of Judah round about for their families.

13And to Caleb son of Jephunneh hath he given a portion in the midst of the sons of Judah, according to the command of Jehovah to Joshua, [even] the city of Arba, father of Anak — it [is] Hebron.

14And Caleb is dispossessing thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, children of Anak,

15and he goeth up thence unto the inhabitants of Debir; and the name of Debir formerly is Kirjath-Sepher.

16And Caleb saith, 'He who smiteth Kirjath-Sephar, and hath captured it — I have given to him Achsah my daughter for a wife.'

17And Othniel son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, doth capture it, and he giveth to him Achsah his daughter for a wife.

18And it cometh to pass, in her coming in, that she persuadeth him to ask from her father a field, and she lighteth from off the ass, and Caleb saith to her, 'What — to thee?'

19And she saith, 'Give to me a blessing; when the land of the south thou hast given me, then thou hast given to me springs of waters;' and he giveth to her the upper springs and the lower springs.

20This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah, for their families.

21And the cities at the extremity of the tribe of the sons of Judah are unto the border of Edom in the south, Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

25and Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, Hezron, (it [is] Hazor,)

26Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

27and Hazar-Gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-Palet,

28and Hazar-Shual, and Beer-Sheba, and Bizjothjah,

29Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

30And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

31and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

32and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon; all the cities [are] twenty and nine, and their villages.

33In the low country: Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

34and Zanoah, and En-Gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

35Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

36and Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities and their villages.

37Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-Gad,

38and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

39Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

40and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

41and Gederoth, Beth-Dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities and their villages.

42Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43and Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities and their villages.

45Ekron and its towns and its villages,

46from Ekron and westward, all that [are] by the side of Ashdod, and their villages.

47Ashdod, its towns and its villages, Gaza, its towns and its villages, unto the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and [its] border.

48And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

49and Dannah, and Kirjath-Sannah (it [is] Debir)

50and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

51and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities and their villages.

52Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

53and Janum, and Beth-Tappuah, and Aphekah,

54and Humtah, and Kirjath-Arba (it [is] Hebron), and Zior; nine cities and their villages.

55Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

56and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

57Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities and their villages.

58Halhul, Beth-Zur, and Gedor,

59and Maarath, and Beth-Anoth, and Eltekon; six cities and their villages.

60Kirjath-Baal (it [is] Kirjath-Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities and their villages.

61In the wilderness: Beth-Arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

62and Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-Gedi; six cities and their villages.

63As to the Jebusites, inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah have not been able to dispossess them, and the Jebusite dwelleth with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem unto this day.

1Phần chi tộc con cái Giu-đa bắt thăm được, để chia cho các thị tộc của họ, nằm ở vùng giáp giới Ê-đôm trong sa mạc Xin, về phía nam, mãi tận cùng phía nam.

2Ranh giới phía nam khởi sự từ cuối Biển Muối, chỗ biển ăn sâu vào phía nam,

3đi về phía nam dốc Ác-ráp-bim, băng qua Xin, trở lên phía nam Ca-đê Bác-nê-a, rồi đi qua Khét-rôn, lên Át-đa và quay sang Các-ca,

4sau đó băng qua Át-môn, tới Suối Ai-cập, và dừng lại ở biển. “Đó sẽ là ranh giới phía nam của các ngươi.”

5Ranh giới phía đông là Biển Muối cho đến cửa sông Gio-đan. Ranh giới phía bắc bắt đầu từ chỗ Biển Muối tiếp giáp với cửa sông Gio-đan,

6đi lên Bết Khoóc-la, băng qua phía bắc Bết Ha A-ra-va, rồi lại đi lên tảng đá Bô-han, Bô-han là con ông Rưu-vên,

7rồi đi lên Đơ-via, từ cánh đồng A-kho, và ở phía bắc quay về Ghin-gan đối diện với dốc A-đum-mim nằm ở phía nam Suối, sau đó qua vùng nước Ên Se-mét, và đi tới Ên Rô-ghên,

8kế đó lại đi lên thung lũng Ben Hin-nôm cho tới sườn đồi phía nam Giơ-vút, tức là Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ranh giới đó lên tận đỉnh núi đối diện với thung lũng Hin-nôm về phía tây, ở cực bắc cánh đồng Ra-pha,

9sau đó, từ đỉnh núi, lượn về phía mạch nước Nép-tô-ác và đi về các thành vùng núi Ép-rôn, rồi lượn về phía Ba-a-la, tức là Kia-giát Giơ-a-rim.

10Từ Ba-a-la, ranh giới đó quay sang phía tây đến núi Xê-ia, đi dọc theo sườn núi Giơ-a-rim phía bắc, tức là Cơ-xa-lôn, xuống tới Bết Se-mét và băng qua Tim-na,

11rồi đi về sườn núi Éc-rôn phía bắc, sau đó lượn về phía Sích-ca-rôn, băng qua núi Ba-a-la, đến tận Giáp-nơ-ên và dừng lại ở biển.

12Ranh giới phía tây là Biển Lớn và miền duyên hải. Đó là ranh giới chung quanh phần đất con cái Giu-đa, chia theo các thị tộc của họ.

13Người ta chia cho ông Ca-lếp, con ông Giơ-phun-ne, một phần đất ở giữa con cái ông Giu-đa, theo mệnh lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA ban cho ông Giô-suê : Kia-giát Ác-ba, tức là Khép-rôn, – Ác-ba là cha ông A-nác.

14Ông Ca-lếp đã đuổi ra khỏi đó ba người con của ông A-nác : Sê-sai, A-khi-man và Tan-mai là con cháu ông A-nác.

15Từ đó, ông lên đánh dân cư thành Đơ-via. Tên của Đơ-via trước kia là Kia-giát Xê-phe.

16Ông Ca-lếp nói : “Ai đánh và chiếm được Kia-giát Xê-phe, thì tôi sẽ gả Ác-xa con gái tôi cho người ấy.”

17Ót-ni-ên con ông Cơ-nát em ông Ca-lếp, đã chiếm được thành, và ông Ca-lếp đã gả Ác-xa con gái mình cho Ót-ni-ên.

18Khi cô ta đến, cô xúi chàng xin cha cô một thửa ruộng. Cô xuống lừa, và ông Ca-lếp hỏi cô : “Chuyện gì thế con ?”

19Cô thưa : “Xin cha cho con một món quà. Vì cha đã cho con đất Ne-ghép, thì xin cũng cho con cả suối nước nữa.” Và ông đã cho cô suối trên suối dưới.

20Đó là gia nghiệp của chi tộc con cái ông Giu-đa, theo các thị tộc của họ.

21Cáp-xơ-ên, Ê-đe, Gia-gua,

22Ki-na, Đi-mô-na, Át-a-đa,

23Ke-đét, Kha-xo, Gít-nan,

24Díp, Te-lem, Bơ-a-lốt,

25Kha-xo Kha-đát-ta, Cơ-ri-giốt, Khét-rôn tức là Kha-xo,

26A-mam, Sơ-ma, Mô-la-đa,

27Kha-xa Gát-đa, Khét-môn, Bết Pe-lét,

28Kha-xa Su-an, Bơ-e Se-va, Bít-giốt-gia,

29Ba-a-la, I-gim, E-xem,

30En-tô-lát, Cơ-xin, Khoóc-ma,

31Xích-lắc, Mát-man-na, Xan-xan-na,

32Lơ-va-ốt, Sin-khim, A-gin, và Rim-môn : đó là hai mươi chín thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

33Ét-ta-ôn, Xo-rơ-a, Át-na,

34Da-nô-ác, Ên Gan-nim, Táp-pu-ác, Ha Ê-nam,

35Giác-mút, A-đu-lam, Xô-khô, A-dê-ca,

36Sa-a-ra-gim, A-đi-tha-gim, Ha Gơ-đê-ra và Gơ-đê-rô-tha-gim : đó là mười bốn thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

37Xơ-nan, Kha-đa-sa, Mích-đan Gát,

38Đi-lơ-an, Ha Mít-pê, Gióc-thơ-ên,

39La-khít, Bót-cát, Éc-lon,

40Cáp-bôn, Lác-mát, Kít-lít,

41Gơ-đê-rốt, Bết Đa-gôn, Na-a-ma, Mác-kê-đa : đó là mười sáu thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

42Líp-na, E-the, A-san,

43Gíp-tác, Át-na, Nơ-xíp,

44Cơ-i-la, Ác-díp, Ma-rê-sa : đó là chín thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

45Éc-rôn với các thành phụ thuộc và làng mạc của các thành ấy,

46từ Éc-rôn cho đến biển, tất cả những vùng bên cạnh Át-đốt và các làng mạc ;

47Át-đốt, các thành phụ thuộc và làng mạc của thành đó ; Ga-da, các thành phụ thuộc và làng mạc của thành đó, cho đến Suối Ai-cập, Biển Lớn làm ranh giới.

48Sa-mia, Giát-tia, Xô-khô,

49Đan-na, Kia-giát Xan-na, tức là Đơ-via,

50A-náp, Ét-tơ-mô-a, A-nim,

51Gô-sen, Khô-lôn và Ghi-lô : đó là mười một thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

52A-ráp, Đu-ma, Ét-an,

53Gia-num, Bết Táp-pu-ác, A-phê-ca,

54Khum-ta, Kia-giát Ác-ba, tức là Khép-rôn, Xi-o : đó là chín thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

55Ma-ôn, Các-men, Díp, Giút-ta,

56Gít-rơ-en, Gióc-đơ-am, Da-nô-ác,

57Ha Ca-gin, Ghíp-a và Tim-na : đó là mười thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

58Khan-khun, Bết Xua, Gơ-đo,

59Tơ-cô-a, Ép-ra-tha tức là Bê-lem, Pơ-o, Ê-tham, Cu-lon, Ta-tam, Xo-rét, Ke-rem, Ga-lim, Be-the và Ma-na : đó là mười một thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

60Kia-giát Ba-an tức là Kia-giát Giơ-a-rim, Ha Ráp-ba : đó là hai thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

61Bết Ha A-ra-va, Mít-đin, Xơ-kha-kha,

62Níp-san, Thành Muối và Ên Ghe-đi : đó là sáu thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

63Nhưng con cái ông Giu-đa đã không thể xua đuổi được người Giơ-vút ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Người Giơ-vút ở với con cái ông Giu-đa, tại Giê-ru-sa-lem cho đến ngày nay.
