The Bible
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (comprising sixty-six canonical books) are the fully inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. The Bible is the reliable historical record of the universe from beginning to end and of God’s sovereign dealings with the human race.
It is the faithful deposit of divine words and deeds, revealing God’s holy character, His eternal covenants, and His redemptive plan in Jesus Christ. Because Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit, it constitutes the final, unalterable, and supreme authority in all matters of Christian belief, doctrine, and moral conduct.
God
We believe in the one and only true, living, and eternal God, who has always existed without beginning and without end. He is the Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the cosmos and all creatures within it, creating all things good by His Word.
He is the righteous Judge of all nations and individuals, to whom every person must give account. He is absolute in holy justice, yet rich in boundless mercy, compassion, and grace. God chose to make His character, moral law, and redemptive promises known through His covenant people, Israel. God eternally exists as three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one in divine essence, power, and eternal glory. Because God is within His own triune being an eternal communion of self-giving life, God is love.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God and true Son of Man, fully divine and fully human without confusion, change, division, or separation. He was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is the long-promised Messiah of Israel and the exalted Lord over every earthly and cosmic power.
He lived a sinless human life in complete obedience to the Father, inaugurating the Kingdom of God. Under Pontius Pilate, He was crucified as our atoning sacrifice, bearing the judgment and penalty for human sin. He was buried, and on the third day He arose bodily from the grave in victory over death and satanic powers. After forty days of appearing to His disciples with infallible proofs, He ascended bodily into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God as our Great High Priest and perpetual Advocate. He will return bodily in power and glory to judge the living and the dead, destroy evil, and reign forever.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity, personally distinct from the Father and the Son, yet co-eternal and co-equal in glory. The Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates repentant sinners and baptizes them into the body of Christ.
He is the promised divine power empowering the Church to be Christ's witnesses across all nations. He distributes supernatural spiritual gifts according to His sovereign will to equip disciples and build up the Church. The Holy Spirit indwells every genuine believer, purifying hearts, producing the fruit of godly character, teaching and guiding into all truth, and enabling a life of persevering holiness and intimacy with God.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gracious work of God redeeming fallen humanity from the guilt, dominion, and ultimate penalty of sin, reconciling sinners to Himself through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. According to the apostolic testimony of the New Testament, salvation is an active, holy pilgrimage:
- It begins with genuine repentance from sin, saving faith in Jesus as personal Saviour and Lord, baptism by immersion in water as the public appeal of a clean conscience and sacramental participation in Christ's death and resurrection, and the reception of the Holy Spirit with biblical evidence and power for new life.
- It continues as the justified believer adds holiness of life to divine forgiveness, walking in daily discipleship, bearing spiritual fruit, and persevering in faithful trust and loving obedience through trials and testing.
- It culminates at the bodily resurrection of the dead at Christ's return, with the total eradication of all sin, the redemption of our bodies, the restoration of the divine image in humanity, and everlasting fellowship with God in the new creation.
