4Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

6The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Diphath, and Togarmah.

7The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

8The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.

11Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

12Pathrusim, Casluhim (where the Philistines came from), and Caphtorim.

13Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,

14the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite,

15the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,

16the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

17The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

18Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.

19To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

20Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

21Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

22Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,

23Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

24Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah,

25Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27Abram (also called Abraham).

28The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

29These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32The sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.

37The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan’s sister.

40The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

41The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

42The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.

45Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

46Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.

47Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.

48Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his place.

49Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

50Baal Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

51Then Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

52chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

53chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.

2Ê-nót sanh Kê-nan, Kê-nan sanh Ma-ha-la-le, Ma-ha-la-le sanh Giê-rệt;

3Giê-rệt sanh Hê-nóc, Hê-nóc sanh Mê-tu-sê-la, Mê-tu-sê-la sanh Lê-méc;

4Lê-méc sanh Nô-ê, Nô-ê sanh Sem, Cham và Gia-phết.

5Con trai Gia-phết là Gô-me, Ma-gốc, Ma-đai, Gia-van, Tu-banh, Mê-siếc, và Ti-ra.

6Con trai của Gô-me là Aùch-kê-na, Đi-phát, và Tô-ga-ma.

7Con trai của Gia-van là Ê-li-sa, Ta-rê-si, Kít-tim, và Rô-đa-nim.

8Con trai của Cham là Cúc, Mích-ra-im, Phút, và Ca-na-an.

9Con trai của Cúc là Sê-ba, Ha-vi-la, Sáp-ta, Ra-ê-ma và Sáp-tê-ca. Con trai của Ra-ê-ma là Sê-ba, và Đê-đan.

10Cúc sinh Nim-rốt; người khởi đầu làm anh hùng trên mặt đất.

11Mích-ra-im sinh họ Lu-đim, họ A-na-min, họ Lê-ha-bim, họ Náp-tu-him,

12họ Phát-ru-sim, họ Cách-lu-him, bởi đó sanh ra họ Phi-li-tin, và họ Cáp-tô-rim.

13Ca-na-an sanh ra Si-đôn, là trưởng nam, và Hếch,

18A-bác-sát sanh Sê-lách; Sê-lách sanh Hê-be.

19Hê-be sanh được hai con trai: một con kêu tên là Bê-lét; bởi vì trong đời người đó đất đã chia ra; còn tên của người em là Giốc-tan.

20Giốc-tan sanh A-mô-đát, Sê-lép, Ha-sa-ma-vết, Giê-rách,

21Ha-đô-ram, U-xa, Điếc-la,

22Ê-banh, A-bi-ma-ên, Sê-ba,

23Ô-phia, Ha-vi-la, và Giô-báp. Hết thảy những người đó đều là con trai của Giốc-tan.

24Sem sanh A-bác-sát, A-bác-sát sanh Sê-lách,

25Sê-lách sanh Hê-be, Hê-be sanh Bê-léc, Bê-léc sanh Rê-hu,

26Rê-hu sanh Sê-rúc, Sê-rúc sanh Na-cô, Na-cô sanh Tha-rê,

27Tha-rê sanh Aùp-ram, cũng gọi là Aùp-ra-ham.

28Con trai của Aùp-ra-ham là Y-sác và ỗch-ma-ên.

29Nầy là dòng dõi của chúng: Con cả của ỗch-ma-ên là Nê-ba-giốt; kế đến Kê-đa, Aùt-bê-ên, Mi-bô-sam,

30Mích-ma, Đu-ma, Ma-sa, Ha-đát, Thê-ma,

31Giê-hu, Na-phích, và Kết-ma. Đó là các con trai của ỗch-ma-ên.

32Kê-tu-ra, vợ nhỏ của Aùp-ra-ham, sanh các con trai là Xim-ram, Giốc-san, Mê-đan, Ma-đi-an, Dích-bác, và Su-ách. Giốc-san sanh Sê-ba, và Đê-đan.

33Con trai của Ma-đi-an là Ê-pha, Ê-phe, Ha-nóc, A-bi-đa, và Eân-đa. Những người ấy đều là con cháu của Kê-tu-ra.

34Aùp-ra-ham sanh ra Y-sác. Con trai của Y-sác là Ê-sau và Y-sơ-ra-ên.

35con trai của Ê-sau là Ê-li-pha, Rê-u-ên, Giê-úc, Gia-lam, và Cô-ra.

36con trai của Ê-li-pha là Thê-man, Ô-ma, Xê-phi, Ga-tham, Kê-na, Thim-na, và A-ma-léc.

37Con trai của Rê-u-ên là Na-hát, Xê-rách, Sam-ma, và Mích-xa.

38Con trai của Sê-i-rơ là Lô-than, Sô-banh, Xi-bê-ôn, A-na, Đi-sôn, Eùt-xe, và Đi-san.

39Con trai của Lô-than là Hô-ri và Hô-man; còn Thim-na là em gái Lô-than.

40Con trai của Sô-banh là A-li-an, Ma-na-hát, Ê-banh, Sê-phi, và Ô-nam. con trai của Xi-bê-ôn là Ai-gia và A-na.

41Con trai của A-na là Đi-sôn. con trai của Đi-sôn là Ham-ran, Eách-ban, Dít-ran, và Kê-ran.

42Con trai của Eùt-xe là Binh-han, Xa-van, và Gia-a-can. con trai của Đi-san là Uùt-xơ, và A-ran.

43Khi trước dân Y-sơ-ra-ên chưa có một vua cai trị, thì đây là danh các vua trị vì xứ Ê-đôm: Bê-la, con trai Bê-ô; tên bản thành là Đin-ha-ba.

44Vua Bê-la băng, Giô-báp, con trai Xê-rách, người Bốt-ra, kế vị.

45Vua Giô-háp băng, Hu-sam, người xứ Thê-man, kế vị.

46Vua Hu-sam băng, Ha-đát, con trai Bê-đát, kế vị; chính vua nầy đánh được dân Ma-đi-an tại đồng Mô-áp; tên bản thành là A-vít.

47Vua Ha-đát băng, Sam-la người Ma-rê-ca, kế vị.

48Vua Sam-la băng, Sau-lơ, người Rê-hô-bốt ở trên bờ sông, kế vị.

49Vua Sau-lơ băng, Ba-anh-Ha-nan, con trai Aïc-bồ, kế vị.

50Vua Ba-anh-Ha-nan băng, Ha-đát kế vị; tên bản thành là Pha-i; còn vợ người tên là Mê-hê-ta-bê-ên, con gái của Mát-rết, cháu ngoại Mê-xa-háp.

51Vua Ha-đát băng. Các trưởng tộc xứ Ê-đôm là: trưởng tộc Thim-na, trưởng tộc A-li-a; trưởng tộc Giê-tết,

52trưởng tộc Ô-hô-li-ba-ma, trưởng tộc Ê-la, trưởng tộc Phi-nôn,

53trưởng tộc Kê-na, trưởng tộc Thê-man, trưởng tộc Mép-xa,

54trưởng tộc Mác-đi-ên, và trưởng tộc Y-ram. Đó là các trưởng tộc của Ê-đôm.
