1Vậy bây giờ, hãy chỉnh đốn hàng ngũ!Quân thù đang vây hãm Giê-ru-sa-lem. Chúng sẽ quất roi vào má người lãnh đạo của Ít-ra-ên.

Đấng Cai Trị Bết-lê-hem

2Hỡi Bết-lê-hem Ép-ra-ta,ngươi chỉ là một làng nhỏ bé giữa các dân tộc của Giu-đa. Nhưng từ ngươi sẽ xuất hiện một Đấng cai trị Ít-ra-ên. Gốc tích của Người từ đời xưa, từ trước vô cùng.

3Ít-ra-ên sẽ bị bỏ mặc cho kẻ thù của họ,cho đến khi người nữ chuyển bụng sinh con.Rồi những anh em còn lạisẽ trở về quê hương mình từ xứ lưu đày.

4Người sẽ đứng vững để chăn bầy mìnhnhờ sức mạnh Chúa Hằng Hữu, với oai nghiêm trong Danh Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời mình.Con dân Người sẽ được an cư,vì Người sẽ thống trị khắp thế giới.

5Và Người sẽ đem lại hòa bình. Khi quân A-sy-ri xâm lăng đất nước,và đi ngang qua các cung đền,chúng ta sẽ cử bảy người chăn chúng ta,và tám lãnh đạohướng dẫn chúng ta.

6Họ sẽ cai trị A-sy-ri bằng gươmvà tiến vào lãnh thổ của Nim-rốt.Người giải cứu chúng ta khỏi quân A-sy-rikhi chúng xâm lăng dày xéo quê hương chúng ta.

Người Còn Sót Lại Trở Nên Tinh Khiết

7Lúc ấy, dân sống sót của Ít-ra-ênsẽ ở giữa nhiều dân tộc khác.Họ như sương móc từ Chúa Hằng Hữu,hay như mưa rơi trên cỏ,chẳng trông cậy vào loài người,cũng chẳng mong đợi một ai.

8Dân sống sót của Ít-ra-ên sẽ ở giữa các nước.Họ sẽ ở giữa nhiều dân như sư tử giữa các thú rừng,như sư tử tơ giữa bầy chiên và bầy dê, nó sẽ chà đạp và cắn xé trên đường nó đi,nếu không có người giải cứu.

9Dân của Ít-ra-ên sẽ đứng lên, tự tinvà tất cả kẻ thù họ sẽ bị trừ diệt.

10Chúa Hằng Hữu phán:“Trong ngày ấy, Ta sẽ quét sạch các chiến mãvà tiêu diệt các chiến xa của ngươi.

11Ta sẽ phá hủy các thànhvà kéo sập các đồn lũy ngươi.

12Ta sẽ dẹp bỏ phép phù thủy khỏi tay ngươi,và ngươi không còn thầy bói nữa.

13Ta sẽ tuyệt diệt các thần tượng chạm trổvà các trụ thờ tà thần của ngươi, để ngươi sẽ không còn quỳ lạy các tượng do tay mình làm ra.

14Ta sẽ nhổ bật các tượng A-sê-ravà tiêu diệt các thành ngươi.

15Trong cơn thịnh nộ kinh khiếp,Ta sẽ báo trả tội ác của các dân tộc không chịu vâng phục Ta.”

A Ruler from Bethlehem

1Now, O daughter of troops,mobilize your troops; for a siege is laid against us!With a rod they will strike the cheekof the judge of Israel.

2But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,who are small among the clansof Judah,out of you will come forth for MeOne to be ruler over Israel—One whose origins are of old,from the days of eternity.

3Therefore Israel will be abandoneduntil she who is in labor has given birth;then the rest of His brothers will returnto the children of Israel.

4He will stand and shepherd His flockin the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD His God.And they will dwell securely,for then His greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.

5And He will be our peacewhen Assyria invades our land and tramples our citadels.We will raise against it seven shepherds,even eight leaders of men.

6And they will rule the land of Assyria with the sword,and the land of Nimrod with the blade drawn.So He will deliver uswhen Assyria invades our land and marches into our borders.

The Remnant of Jacob

7Then the remnant of Jacob will bein the midst of many peopleslike dew from the LORD,like showers on the grass,which do not wait for manor linger for mankind.

8Then the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations,in the midst of many peoples,like a lion among the beasts of the forest,like a young lion among flocks of sheep,which tramples and tears as it passes through,with no one to rescue them.

9Your hand will be lifted over your foes,and all your enemies will be cut off.

10“In that day,”declares the LORD,“I will remove your horses from among youand wreck your chariots.

11I will remove the cities of your landand tear down all your strongholds.

12I will cut the sorceries from your hand,and you will have no fortune-tellers.

13I will also cut off the carved imagesand sacred pillars from among you,so that you will no longer bow downto the work of your own hands.

14I will root out the Asherah poles from your midstand demolish your cities.

15I will take vengeance in anger and wrathupon the nations that have not obeyed Me.”
