1Đây là danh sách những người Giu-đa trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem và các thành phố Giu-đa khác, sau những năm tháng bị vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa lưu đày qua Ba-by-lôn.

2Các nhà lãnh đạo gồm có: Xô-rô-ba-bên, Giê-sua, Nê-hê-mi, Sê-ra-gia, Rê-ê-gia, Mạc-đô-chê, Binh-san, Mích-bạt, Biết-vai, Rê-hum, và Ba-a-na. Các nam đinh Ít-ra-ên gồm có:

3Họ Pha-rốt 2.172 người.

4Họ Sê-pha-ti-gia 372 người.

5Họ A-ra 775 người.

6Họ Pha-hát Mô-áp (con cháu của Giê-sua và Giô-áp) 2.812 người.

7Họ Ê-lam 1.254 người.

8Họ Xát-tu 945 người.

9Họ Xác-cai 760 người.

10Họ Ba-ni 642 người.

11Họ Bê-bai 623 người.

12Họ A-gát 1.222 người.

13Họ A-đô-ni-cam 666 người.

40Người Lê-vi gồm có: Họ Giê-sua và Cát-mi-ên (con cháu Hô-đa-via) 74 người.

41Các ca sĩ thuộc họ A-sáp 128 người.

42Con cháu những người gác cổng thuộc họ Sa-lum, họ A-te, họ Thanh-môn, họ A-cúp, họ Ha-ti-ta, và họ Sô-bai 139 người.

43Những người phục dịch Đền Thờ gồm có: Họ Xi-ha, họ Ha-su-pha, họ Ta-ba-ốt,

44họ Kê-rốt, họ Sia-ha, họ Ba-đôn,

45họ Lê-ba-na, họ Ha-ga-ba, họ A-cúp,

46họ Ha-gáp, họ Sam-lai, họ Ha-nan,

47họ Ghi-đên, họ Ga-cha, họ Rê-a-gia,

48họ Rê-xin, họ Nê-cô-đa, họ Ga-xam,

49họ U-xa, họ Pha-sê-a, họ Bê-sai,

50họ A-sê-na, họ Mê-u-nim, họ Nê-phu-sim,

51họ Bác-búc, họ Ha-cu-pha, họ Ha-rua,

52họ Ba-lút, họ Mê-hi-đa, họ Hạc-sa,

55Con cháu các cựu thần của Sa-lô-môn gồm có: Họ Sô-tai, họ Hát-sô-phê-rết, họ Phê-ru-đa,

56họ Gia-a-la, họ Đạt côn, họ Ghi-đên,

57họ Sê-pha-tia, họ Hát tinh, họ Bô-kê-rết Ha-xê-ba-im, và họ A-mi.

58Tính chung những người phục dịch Đền Thờ và con cháu cựu thần Sa-lô-môn là 392 người.

59Có một số người từ các thành Tên Mê-la, Tên Hạt-sa, Kê-rúp, A-đan, và Y-mê trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem, nhưng họ không còn gia phả hay bằng cớ về nguồn gốc tông tộc, để chứng minh họ là người Ít-ra-ên. Những người này gồm có:

60Họ Đê-la-gia, họ Tô-bia, và họ Nê-cô-đa, tổng cộng 652 người.

61Cũng có con cháu của các thầy tế lễ trong ba họ Ha-ba-gia, Ha-cốt, và Bát-xi-lai. (Ông này cưới con gái của Bát-xi-lai, người Ga-la-át, và người ta gọi ông theo tên cha vợ.)

62Những người này cũng không tìm được gia phả, nên bị ngưng chức tế lễ.

63Các nhà lãnh đạo cấm họ không được hưởng phần ăn thánh, vì các nhà lãnh đạo muốn chờ đến lúc cầu hỏi Chúa Hằng Hữu bằng cách dùng U-rim và Thu-mimđể xem họ có thuộc dòng họ thầy tế lễ không.

64Tổng số các nhóm kể trên lên đến 42.360 người.

65Ngoài ra, có 7.337 gia nhân và 200 ca sĩ, cả nam lẫn nữ.

66Họ đem theo 736 con ngựa, 245 con la,

67435 con lạc đà, và 6.720 con lừa.

68Khi đến Đền Thờ Chúa Hằng Hữu tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, các trưởng tộc tùy khả năng cung hiến tài vật để thực hiện công tác tái thiết Đền Thờ Đức Chúa Trời.

69Số tài vật dâng hiến gồm 500 kývàng, 3 tấnbạc, và 100 bộ lễ phục cho các thầy tế lễ.

70Như vậy, các thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, các ca sĩ, người gác cổng, người phục dịch đền thờ và tất cả những người khác về sống tại Giê-ru-sa-lem và miền phụ cận. Các thường dân lưu đày còn lại cũng hồi hương về sống trong thành mình.

36¶ The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.

37The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.

40¶ The Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four.

41¶ The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred twenty and eight.

42¶ The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all an hundred thirty and nine.

43¶ The Nethinims: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,

44The children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon,

45The children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub,

46The children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan,

47The children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah,

48The children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam,

49The children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai,

50The children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim,

51The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,

52The children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

53The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah,

54The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

55¶ The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda,

56The children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,

57The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami.

58All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

59And these were they which went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father’s house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

60The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two.

61¶ And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

62These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

63And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

64¶ The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,

65Beside their servants and their maids, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and there were among them two hundred singing men and singing women.

66Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

67Their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68¶ And some of the chief of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in his place:

69They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

70So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.
