Revelation

1And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

2And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

1Sau đó, tôi thấy có bốn thiên thần đứng ở bốn phương của mặt đất, giữ bốn ngọn gió của đất lại, không cho ngọn gió nào thổi trên đất liền, trên biển cả cũng như trên mọi cây cối.

2Tôi lại thấy một thiên thần khác, mang ấn của Thiên Chúa hằng sống, từ phía mặt trời mọc đi lên. Thiên thần ấy lớn tiếng bảo bốn thiên thần khác, là những vị được quyền phá hại đất liền và biển cả,

3rằng : “Xin đừng phá hại đất liền, biển cả và cây cối, trước khi chúng tôi đóng ấn trên trán các tôi tớ của Thiên Chúa chúng ta.”

4Rồi tôi nghe nói đến con số những người được đóng ấn : một trăm bốn mươi bốn ngàn người được đóng ấn, thuộc mọi chi tộc con cái Ít-ra-en.

5Chi tộc Giu-đa có mười hai ngàn người được đóng ấn ; chi tộc Rưu-vên : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Gát : mười hai ngàn ;

6chi tộc A-se : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Náp-ta-li : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Mơ-na-se : mười hai ngàn ;

7chi tộc Si-mê-ôn : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Lê-vi : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Ít-xa-kha : mười hai ngàn ;

8chi tộc Dơ-vu-lun : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Giu-se : mười hai ngàn ; chi tộc Ben-gia-min có mười hai ngàn người được đóng ấn.

9Sau đó, tôi thấy : kìa một đoàn người thật đông không tài nào đếm nổi, thuộc mọi dân, mọi chi tộc, mọi nước và mọi ngôn ngữ. Họ đứng trước ngai và trước Con Chiên, mình mặc áo trắng, tay cầm nhành lá thiên tuế.

10Họ lớn tiếng tung hô : “Chính Thiên Chúa chúng ta, Đấng ngự trên ngai, và chính Con Chiên đã cứu độ chúng ta.”

11Tất cả các thiên thần đều đứng chung quanh ngai, chung quanh các Kỳ Mục và bốn Con Vật. Họ đều sấp mặt xuống, phủ phục trước ngai và thờ lạy Thiên Chúa mà tung hô

12đến muôn thuở muôn đời ! A-men !”

13Một trong các Kỳ Mục lên tiếng hỏi tôi : “Những người mặc áo trắng kia là ai vậy ? Họ từ đâu đến ?”

14Tôi trả lời : “Thưa Ngài, Ngài biết đó.” Vị ấy bảo tôi : “Họ là những người đã đến, sau khi trải qua cơn thử thách lớn lao. Họ đã giặt sạch và tẩy trắng áo mình trong máu Con Chiên.

15Vì thế, họ được chầu trước ngai Thiên Chúa, đêm ngày thờ phượng trong Đền Thờ của Người ; Đấng ngự trên ngai sẽ căng lều của Người cho họ trú ẩn.

16Họ sẽ không còn phải đói, phải khát, không còn bị ánh nắng mặt trời thiêu đốt và khí nóng hành hạ nữa.

17Vì Con Chiên đang ngự ở giữa ngai sẽ chăn dắt và dẫn đưa họ tới nguồn nước trường sinh. Và Thiên Chúa sẽ lau sạch nước mắt họ.”
