1 Chronicles

1Now these were the divisions of the sons of Aaron: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood.

3And David distributed them, that is, Sadoc of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their courses and ministry.

4And there were found many more of the sons of Eleazar among the principal men, than of the sons of Ithamar. And he divided them so, that there were of the sons of Eleazar, sixteen chief men by their families: and of the sons of Ithamar eight by their families and houses.

5And he divided both the families one with the other by lot: for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

6And Semeias the son of Nathanael the scribe a Levite, wrote them down before the king and the princes, and Sadoc the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the princes also of the priestly and Levitical families: one house, which was over the rest, of Eleazar: and another house, which had the rest under it, of Ithamar.

7Now the first lot came forth to Joiarib, the second to Jedei,

8The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,

9The fifth to Melchia, the sixth to Maiman,

10The seventh to Accos, the eighth to Abia,

11The ninth to Jesua, the tenth to Sechenia,

12The eleventh to Eliasib, the twelfth to Jacim,

13The thirteenth to Hoppha, the fourteenth to Isbaab,

14The fifteenth to Belga, the sixteenth to Emmer,

15The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,

16The nineteenth to Pheteia, the twentieth to Hezechiel,

17The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,

18The three and twentieth to Dalaiau, the four and twentieth to Maaziau.

19These are their courses according to their ministries, to come into the house of the Lord, and according to their manner under the hand of Aaron their father: as the Lord the God of Israel had commanded.

20Now of the rest of the sons of Levi, there was of the sons of Amram, Subael: and of the sons of Subael, Jehedeia.

21Also of the sons of Rohobia the chief Jesias.

22And the son of Isaar Salemoth, and the son of Salemoth Jahath:

23And his son Jeriau the first, Amarias the second, Jahaziel the third, Jecmaan the fourth.

24The son of Oziel, Micha: the son of Micha, Samir.

25The brother of Micha, Jesia: and the son of Jesia, Zacharias.

26The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi: the son of Oziau: Benno.

27The son also of Merari: Oziau, and Seam, and Zacchur, and Hebri.

28And the son of Moholi: Eleazar, who had no sons.

29And the son of Cis, Jeramael.

30The sons of Musi: Moholi, Eder, and Jerimoth. These are the sons of Levi according to the houses of their families.

31And they also cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Sadoc, and Ahimelech, and the princes of the priestly and Levitical families, both the elder and the younger. The lot divided all equally.

1Con cháu ông A-ha-ron cũng được chia thành nhiều nhóm. Các con ông A-ha-ron là : Na-đáp, A-vi-hu, E-la-da và I-tha-ma.

2Na-đáp và A-vi-hu chết trước cha mình và không có con, nên E-la-da và I-tha-ma thi hành chức tư tế.

3Cùng với ông Xa-đốc trong số các con ông E-la-da, và với ông A-khi-me-léc trong số các con ông I-tha-ma, vua Đa-vít chia các tư tế thành từng nhóm theo nhiệm vụ của họ.

4Hậu quả là các con ông E-la-da đứng đầu các tráng đinh lại đông hơn các con ông I-tha-ma, và họ được phân chia như sau : mười sáu trưởng tộc là con ông E-la-da và tám là con ông I-tha-ma.

5Người ta bốc thăm để phân chia họ, những người này cũng như những người kia, vì trong các con ông E-la-da cũng như các con ông I-tha-ma, có những viên chức lo việc thánh điện, những viên chức của Thiên Chúa.

6Thư ký là ông Sơ-ma-gia, con ông Nơ-than-ên, thuộc chi tộc Lê-vi, đã ghi danh họ trước mặt vua Đa-vít và các thủ lãnh, trước mặt tư tế Xa-đốc và ông A-khi-me-léc con ông Ép-gia-tha, cũng như trước mặt các trưởng tộc tư tế và Lê-vi : họ rút một thăm cho mỗi gia tộc thuộc E-la-da và hai thăm cho mỗi gia tộc thuộc I-tha-ma.

7Thăm thứ nhất trúng Giơ-hô-gia-ríp, thứ hai trúng Giơ-đa-gia ;

8thứ ba trúng Kha-rim, thứ tư : Xơ-ô-rim,

9thứ năm : Man-ki-gia, thứ sáu : Mi-gia-min,

10thứ bảy : Hắc-cốt, thứ tám : A-vi-gia,

11thứ chín : Giê-su-a, thứ mười : Sơ-khan-gia-hu,

12thứ mười một : En-gia-síp, thứ mười hai : Gia-kim,

13thứ mười ba : Khúp-pa, thứ mười bốn : Gie-sép-áp,

14thứ mười lăm : Bin-ga, thứ mười sáu : Im-me,

15thứ mười bảy : Khê-dia, thứ mười tám : Ha-pít-xết,

16thứ mười chín : Pơ-thác-gia, thứ hai mươi : Giơ-khét-kên,

17thứ hai mươi mốt : Gia-khin, thứ hai mươi hai : Ga-mun,

18thứ hai mươi ba : Đơ-la-gia-hu, thứ hai mươi bốn : Ma-át-gia-hu.

19Họ được phân nhóm như thế để vào phục vụ nhà ĐỨC CHÚA theo luật ông A-ha-ron cha của họ đã quy định như ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa Ít-ra-en đã truyền.

20Trong các con ông Am-ram, có Su-va-ên ; trong các con ông Su-va-ên, có Giéc-đơ-gia-hu.

21Về ông Rơ-kháp-gia-hu : trong các con ông Rơ-kháp-gia-hu, đứng đầu là Gít-si-gia.

22Trong con cháu ông Gít-ha có Sơ-lô-mốt ; trong các con ông Sơ-lô-mốt, có Gia-khát.

23Trong các con ông Khép-rôn, thì Giơ-ri-gia-hu đứng đầu, thứ hai là A-mác-gia-hu, thứ ba là Gia-kha-di-ên, thứ tư là Giơ-cam-am.

24Trong các con ông Út-di-ên, có Mi-kha. Trong các con ông Mi-kha, có Sa-mia.

25Em ông Mi-kha là Gít-si-gia ; trong các con ông Gít-si-gia, có Dơ-khác-gia-hu.

26Các con của ông Mơ-ra-ri : Mác-li và Mu-si. Các cháu của ông do con ông là Gia-a-di-gia-hu sinh ra.

27Các cháu của ông Mơ-ra-ri do Gia-a-di-gia-hu con ông sinh ra, là : Sô-ham, Dắc-cua và Híp-ri.

28Ông E-la-da con ông Mác-li thì không có con trai.

29Về ông Kít : trong các con ông Kít, có Giơ-rác-mơ-ên.

30Đó là con cháu các thầy Lê-vi theo gia tộc tổ tiên của họ.

31Cũng như các con cháu ông A-ha-ron anh em của họ, họ được rút thăm trước mặt vua Đa-vít, ông Xa-đốc, ông A-khi-me-léc và trước mặt các trưởng tộc của hàng tư tế và Lê-vi ; người đứng đầu gia tộc cũng như em út của người ấy đều có thể rút thăm.
