撒种的比喻

1当那一天，耶稣从房子里出来，坐在海边。

2有许多人到他那里聚集，他只得上船坐下，众人都站在岸上。

3他用比喻对他们讲许多道理，说：「有一个撒种的出去撒种；

4撒的时候，有落在路旁的，飞鸟来吃尽了；

5有落在土浅石头地上的，土既不深，发苗最快，

6日头出来一晒，因为没有根，就枯干了；

7有落在荆棘里的，荆棘长起来，把它挤住了；

8又有落在好土里的，就结实，有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。

9有耳可听的，就应当听！」

用比喻的目的

10门徒进前来，问耶稣说：「对众人讲话，为什么用比喻呢？」

11耶稣回答说：「因为天国的奥秘只叫你们知道，不叫他们知道。

12凡有的，还要加给他，叫他有余；凡没有的，连他所有的，也要夺去。

13所以我用比喻对他们讲，是因他们看也看不见，听也听不见，也不明白。

14在他们身上，正应了以赛亚的预言，说：你们听是要听见，却不明白； 看是要看见，却不晓得；

15因为这百姓油蒙了心， 耳朵发沉， 眼睛闭着， 恐怕眼睛看见， 耳朵听见， 心里明白，回转过来， 我就医治他们。

16「但你们的眼睛是有福的，因为看见了；你们的耳朵也是有福的，因为听见了。

17我实在告诉你们，从前有许多先知和义人要看你们所看的，却没有看见，要听你们所听的，却没有听见。」

解明撒种的比喻

18「所以，你们当听这撒种的比喻。

19凡听见天国道理不明白的，那恶者就来，把所撒在他心里的夺了去；这就是撒在路旁的了。

20撒在石头地上的，就是人听了道，当下欢喜领受，

21只因心里没有根，不过是暂时的，及至为道遭了患难，或是受了逼迫，立刻就跌倒了。

22撒在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，后来有世上的思虑、钱财的迷惑把道挤住了，不能结实。

23撒在好地上的，就是人听道明白了，后来结实，有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。」

稗子的比喻

24耶稣又设个比喻对他们说：「天国好像人撒好种在田里，

25及至人睡觉的时候，有仇敌来，将稗子撒在麦子里就走了。

26到长苗吐穗的时候，稗子也显出来。

27田主的仆人来告诉他说：『主啊，你不是撒好种在田里吗？从哪里来的稗子呢？』

28主人说：『这是仇敌做的。』仆人说：『你要我们去薅出来吗？』

29主人说：『不必，恐怕薅稗子，连麦子也拔出来。

30容这两样一齐长，等着收割。当收割的时候，我要对收割的人说，先将稗子薅出来，捆成捆，留着烧；惟有麦子要收在仓里。』」

芥菜种和面酵的比喻

31他又设个比喻对他们说：「天国好像一粒芥菜种，有人拿去种在田里。

32这原是百种里最小的，等到长起来，却比各样的菜都大，且成了树，天上的飞鸟来宿在它的枝上。」

33他又对他们讲个比喻说：「天国好像面酵，有妇人拿来，藏在三斗面里，直等全团都发起来。」

用比喻的原因

34这都是耶稣用比喻对众人说的话；若不用比喻，就不对他们说什么。

35这是要应验先知的话，说：我要开口用比喻， 把创世以来所隐藏的事发明出来。

解明稗子的比喻

36当下，耶稣离开众人，进了房子。他的门徒进前来，说：「请把田间稗子的比喻讲给我们听。」

37他回答说：「那撒好种的就是人子；

38田地就是世界；好种就是天国之子；稗子就是那恶者之子；

39撒稗子的仇敌就是魔鬼；收割的时候就是世界的末了；收割的人就是天使。

40将稗子薅出来用火焚烧，世界的末了也要如此。

41人子要差遣使者，把一切叫人跌倒的和作恶的，从他国里挑出来，

42丢在火炉里；在那里必要哀哭切齿了。

43那时，义人在他们父的国里，要发出光来，像太阳一样。有耳可听的，就应当听！」

藏宝、寻珠、撒网的比喻

44「天国好像宝贝藏在地里，人遇见了就把它藏起来，欢欢喜喜地去变卖一切所有的，买这块地。

45天国又好像买卖人寻找好珠子，

46遇见一颗重价的珠子，就去变卖他一切所有的，买了这颗珠子。

47天国又好像网撒在海里，聚拢各样水族，

48网既满了，人就拉上岸来，坐下，拣好的收在器具里，将不好的丢弃了。

49世界的末了也要这样。天使要出来，从义人中把恶人分别出来，

50丢在火炉里；在那里必要哀哭切齿了。」

新旧的东西

51耶稣说：「这一切的话你们都明白了吗？」他们说：「我们明白了。」

52他说：「凡文士受教作天国的门徒，就像一个家主从他库里拿出新旧的东西来。」

拿撒勒人厌弃耶稣

53耶稣说完了这些比喻，就离开那里，

54来到自己的家乡，在会堂里教训人，甚至他们都希奇，说：「这人从哪里有这等智慧和异能呢？

55这不是木匠的儿子吗？他母亲不是叫马利亚吗？他弟兄们不是叫雅各、约西、西门、犹大吗？

56他妹妹们不是都在我们这里吗？这人从哪里有这一切的事呢？」

57他们就厌弃他。耶稣对他们说：「大凡先知，除了本地本家之外，没有不被人尊敬的。」

58耶稣因为他们不信，就在那里不多行异能了。

1The same day Jesus going out of the house, sat by the sea side.

2And great multitudes were gathered unto him, so that he went up into a boat and sat: and all the multitude stood on the shore.

3And he spoke to them many things in parables, saying: Behold the sower went forth to sow.

4And whilst he soweth some fell by the way side, and the birds of the air came and ate them up.

5And other some fell upon stony ground, where they had not much earth: and they sprung up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth.

6And when the sun was up they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away.

7And others fell among thorns: and the thorns grew up and choked them.

8And others fell upon good ground: and they brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, and some thirtyfold.

9He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10And his disciples came and said to him: Why speakest thou to them in parables?

11Who answered and said to them: Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given.

12For he that hath, to him shall be given, and he shall abound: but he that hath not, from him shall be taken away that also which he hath.

13Therefore do I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14And the prophecy of Isaias is fulfilled in them, who saith: By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.

15For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

16But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.

17For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.

18Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.

19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side.

20And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy.

21Yet hath he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there ariseth tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized.

22And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that heareth the word, and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choketh up the word, and he becometh fruitless.

23But he that received the seed upon good ground, is he that heareth the word, and understandeth, and beareth fruit, and yieldeth the one an hundredfold, and another sixty, and another thirty.

24Another parable he proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seeds in his field.

25But while men were asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle among the wheat and went his way.

26And when the blade was sprung up, and had brought forth fruit, then appeared also the cockle.

27And the servants of the goodman of the house coming said to him: Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it cockle?

28And he said to them: An enemy hath done this. And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and gather it up?

29And he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also together with it.

30Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn.

31Another parable he proposed unto them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.

32Which is the least indeed of all seeds; but when it is grown up, it is greater than all herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come, and dwell in the branches thereof.

33Another parable he spoke to them: The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.

34All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the multitudes: and without parables he did not speak to them.

35That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.

36Then having sent away the multitudes, he came into the house, and his disciples came to him, saying: Expound to us the parable of the cockle of the field.

37Who made answer and said to them: He that soweth the good seed, is the Son of man.

38And the field, is the world. And the good seed are the children of the kingdom. And the cockle, are the children of the wicked one.

39And the enemy that sowed them, is the devil. But the harvest is the end of the world. And the reapers are the angels.

40Even as cockle therefore is gathered up, and burnt with fire: so shall it be at the end of the world.

41The Son of man shall send his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals, and them that work iniquity.

42And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

43Then shall the just shine as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

44The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking good pearls.

46Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went his way, and sold all that he had, and bought it.

47Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a net cast into the sea, and gathering together of all kind of fishes.

48Which, when it was filled, they drew out, and sitting by the shore, they chose out the good into vessels, but the bad they cast forth.

49So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall go out, and shall separate the wicked from among the just.

50And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

51Have ye understood all these things? They say to him: Yes.

52He said unto them: Therefore every scribe instructed in the kingdom of heaven, is like to a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure new things and old.

53And it came to pass: when Jesus had finished these parables, he passed from thence.

54And coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so that they wondered and said: How came this man by this wisdom and miracles?

55Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude:

56And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence therefore hath he all these things?

57And they were scandalized in his regard. But Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

58And he wrought not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.
