Genesis

1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens; with all wherewith the ground teemeth, and all the fishes of the sea, into your hand are they delivered.

3Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you; as the green herb have I given you all.

4But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

5And surely your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, will I require the life of man.

6Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

7And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

8And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

10and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that go out of the ark, even every beast of the earth.

11And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of the flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

12And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

13I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

14And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud,

15and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

16And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

17And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

18And the sons of Noah, that went forth from the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.

19These three were the sons of Noah: and of these was the whole earth overspread.

20And Noah began to be a husbandman, and planted a vineyard:

21and he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

23And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

24And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done unto him.

25And he said,Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

26And he said,Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant.

27God enlarge Japheth, And let him dwell in the tents of Shem; And let Canaan be his servant.

28And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

29And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

1Thiên Chúa ban phúc lành cho ông Nô-ê và các con ông, và Người phán với họ : “Hãy sinh sôi nảy nở thật nhiều, cho đầy mặt đất.

2Mọi dã thú, mọi chim trời, mọi giống vật bò dưới đất, và mọi cá biển sẽ phải kinh hãi khiếp sợ các ngươi : chúng được trao vào tay các ngươi.

3Mọi loài di động và có sự sống sẽ là lương thực cho các ngươi ; Ta ban cho các ngươi tất cả những thứ đó, cũng như đã ban cỏ xanh tươi.

4Tuy nhiên các ngươi không được ăn thịt với mạng sống của nó, tức là máu.

5Nhưng Ta sẽ đòi mỗi con vật phải đền nợ máu các ngươi, tức là mạng sống của các ngươi ; Ta sẽ đòi con người phải đền nợ máu, Ta sẽ đòi mỗi người phải đền mạng sống của người anh em mình.

6vì Thiên Chúa đã làm ra con người theo hình ảnh Thiên Chúa.

7Về phần các ngươi, hãy sinh sôi nảy nở thật nhiều, hãy lan tràn và nảy nở thật nhiều trên mặt đất.”

8Thiên Chúa phán với ông Nô-ê và các con ông đang ở với ông rằng :

9“Đây Ta lập giao ước của Ta với các ngươi, với dòng dõi các ngươi sau này,

10và tất cả mọi sinh vật ở với các ngươi : chim chóc, gia súc, dã thú ở với các ngươi, nghĩa là mọi vật ở trong tàu đi ra, kể cả dã thú.

11Ta lập giao ước của Ta với các ngươi : mọi xác phàm sẽ không còn bị nước hồng thuỷ huỷ diệt, và cũng sẽ không còn có hồng thuỷ để tàn phá mặt đất nữa.”

12Thiên Chúa phán : “Đây là dấu hiệu giao ước Ta đặt giữa Ta với các ngươi, và với mọi sinh vật ở với các ngươi, cho đến muôn thế hệ mai sau :

13Ta gác cây cung của Ta lên mây, và đó sẽ là dấu hiệu giao ước giữa Ta với cõi đất.

14Khi Ta cho mây kéo đến trên mặt đất và cây cung xuất hiện trong mây,

15Ta sẽ nhớ lại giao ước giữa Ta với các ngươi, và với mọi sinh vật, nghĩa là với mọi xác phàm ; và nước sẽ không còn trở thành hồng thuỷ để tiêu diệt mọi xác phàm nữa.

16Cây cung sẽ ở trong mây. Ta sẽ nhìn nó để nhớ lại giao ước vĩnh cửu giữa Thiên Chúa với mọi sinh vật, nghĩa là với mọi xác phàm ở trên mặt đất.”

17Thiên Chúa phán với ông Nô-ê : “Đó là dấu của giao ước Ta đã lập giữa Ta với mọi xác phàm ở trên mặt đất.”

18Các con trai ông Nô-ê ra khỏi tàu là : Sêm, Kham và Gia-phét ; ông Kham là cha của ông Ca-na-an.

19Ba ông này là con trai ông Nô-ê, và con cháu họ phân tán ra khắp mặt đất.

20Ông Nô-ê làm nghề nông, ông là người thứ nhất trồng nho.

21Ông uống rượu say và nằm trần truồng giữa lều.

22Ông Kham, cha ông Ca-na-an, thấy chỗ kín của cha mình và báo cho hai anh ở ngoài biết.

23Ông Sêm và ông Gia-phét lấy cái áo choàng, cả hai đặt áo lên vai mình, rồi đi giật lùi mà che chỗ kín của cha. Mặt họ quay về phía sau, nên họ không trông thấy chỗ kín của cha.

24Khi tỉnh rượu, ông Nô-ê hay biết điều mà đứa con nhỏ nhất của ông đã làm đối với ông ;

25Nó phải là đầy tớ các đầy tớ của các anh em nó !”

26Ca-na-an phải là đầy tớ nó !

27nó hãy ở trong lều của Sêm, và Ca-na-an phải là đầy tớ nó !”

28Sau hồng thuỷ, ông Nô-ê sống được ba trăm năm mươi năm.

29Tổng cộng ông Nô-ê sống được chín trăm năm mươi năm, rồi ông qua đời.
