1ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê rằng :

2“Hãy nói với A-ha-ron và bảo nó : khi thắp đèn lên thì bảy ngọn đèn phải toả sáng về phía trước trụ đèn.”

3Ông A-ha-ron đã làm như thế, ông đã thắp đèn hướng về phía trước trụ đèn, như ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền cho ông Mô-sê.

4Trụ đèn được làm như sau : làm bằng vàng gò, từ thân trụ cho tới các nhánh đều được gò. Ông Mô-sê đã làm trụ đèn theo mẫu ĐỨC CHÚA đã cho ông thấy.

5ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê rằng :

6“Hãy đưa các thầy Lê-vi ra khỏi đám con cái Ít-ra-en mà thanh tẩy chúng.

7Ngươi sẽ làm thế này để thanh tẩy chúng : Hãy rảy nước xá tội trên chúng ; chúng sẽ cạo toàn thân, giặt sạch áo mà thanh tẩy mình.

8Chúng sẽ lấy một con bò mộng và tinh bột nhào dầu làm lễ phẩm, còn ngươi thì sẽ lấy một con bò mộng nữa làm của lễ tạ tội.

9Rồi ngươi sẽ đưa các thầy Lê-vi tới trước Lều Hội Ngộ và tập họp toàn thể cộng đồng con cái Ít-ra-en lại.

10Ngươi sẽ dẫn các thầy Lê-vi tới trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA, và con cái Ít-ra-en sẽ đặt tay trên chúng.

11A-ha-ron sẽ thay mặt con cái Ít-ra-en làm nghi thức tiến dâng các thầy Lê-vi lên trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA, và chúng sẽ sung vào việc phục vụ ĐỨC CHÚA.

12Sau đó các thầy Lê-vi sẽ đặt tay lên đầu các con bò mộng. Ngươi sẽ dâng một con làm của lễ tạ tội, và một con làm của lễ toàn thiêu dâng ĐỨC CHÚA để xin ơn xá tội cho các thầy Lê-vi.

13Ngươi sẽ đặt các thầy Lê-vi đứng trước mặt A-ha-ron và các con ông, rồi tiến dâng chúng cho ĐỨC CHÚA, theo nghi thức.

14Như thế, ngươi sẽ tách rời các thầy Lê-vi ra khỏi con cái Ít-ra-en : chúng sẽ thuộc về Ta.

15Vậy ngươi sẽ thanh tẩy chúng và sẽ làm nghi thức tiến dâng chúng.

16Thật vậy, chúng được dâng hiến, được dâng hiến cho Ta, từ giữa con cái Ít-ra-en. Ta đã chọn chúng làm của riêng Ta, thay thế tất cả các con đầu lòng, các trưởng nam của con cái Ít-ra-en.

17Thật vậy, tất cả các con đầu lòng trong số con cái Ít-ra-en, của loài người cũng như của súc vật đều thuộc về Ta. Ngày Ta đánh phạt tất cả các con đầu lòng trong đất Ai-cập, Ta đã thánh hiến chúng cho Ta,

18và Ta đã nhận các thầy Lê-vi thay thế tất cả các con đầu lòng trong con cái Ít-ra-en.

19Trong số con cái Ít-ra-en, Ta đã trao các thầy Lê-vi cho A-ha-ron và cho con cái nó, như những người được dâng hiến để sung vào việc phục dịch của con cái Ít-ra-en trong Lều Hội Ngộ, và để cử hành lễ xá tội cho con cái Ít-ra-en ; như thế trong con cái Ít-ra-en sẽ không xảy ra tai hoạ phạt kẻ tới gần nơi thánh.”

20Đối với các thầy Lê-vi, ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron cùng toàn thể cộng đồng con cái Ít-ra-en đã thi hành đúng mọi điều ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền cho ông Mô-sê về họ ; con cái Ít-ra-en đã thi hành như thế đối với họ.

21Các thầy Lê-vi đã thanh tẩy mình và giặt áo ; ông A-ha-ron đã cử hành nghi thức trên dâng họ trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA, và đã làm lễ xá tội cho họ để thanh tẩy họ.

22Sau đó các thầy Lê-vi đã vào làm việc phục dịch trong Lều Hội Ngộ, trước mặt ông A-ha-ron và các con. ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền cho ông Mô-sê thế nào về các thầy Lê-vi, thì người ta đã thi hành như thế đối với họ.

23ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê rằng :

24“Đây là những điều liên quan tới các thầy Lê-vi. Từ hai mươi lăm tuổi trở lên, mỗi người phải vào thi hành nghĩa vụ phục dịch Lều Hội Ngộ,

25và từ năm mươi tuổi thì được về hưu, không phải phục dịch nữa.

26Người ấy sẽ giúp anh em chu toàn nhiệm vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ, còn nhiệm vụ của mình thì không phải thi hành nữa. Ngươi sẽ bố trí công việc cho các thầy Lê-vi như thế.”

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.

3And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

4And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.

5¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

6Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

8Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.

9And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:

10And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:

11And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.

12And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

13And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.

14Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

15And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.

16For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

17For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

18And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.

19And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

20And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

21And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.

22And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

23¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

24This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

25And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

26But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
