Numbers

1The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

2“Take a census of the sons of Kohath from amongst the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,

3from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter into the service to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.

4“This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting, regarding the most holy things.

5When the camp moves forward, Aaron shall go in with his sons; and they shall take down the veil of the screen, cover the ark of the Testimony with it,

6put a covering of sealskin on it, spread a blue cloth over it, and put in its poles.

7“On the table of show bread they shall spread a blue cloth, and put on it the dishes, the spoons, the bowls, and the cups with which to pour out; and the continual bread shall be on it.

8They shall spread on them a scarlet cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.

9“They shall take a blue cloth and cover the lamp stand of the light, its lamps, its snuffers, its snuff dishes, and all its oil vessels, with which they minister to it.

10They shall put it and all its vessels within a covering of sealskin, and shall put it on the frame.

11“On the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.

12“They shall take all the vessels of ministry with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of sealskin, and shall put them on the frame.

13“They shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it.

14They shall put on it all its vessels with which they minister about it, the fire pans, the meat hooks, the shovels, and the basins—all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread on it a covering of sealskin, and put in its poles.

15“When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp moves forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. The sons of Kohath shall carry these things belonging to the Tent of Meeting.

16“The duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the continual meal offering, and the anointing oil, the requirements of all the tabernacle, and of all that is in it, the sanctuary, and its furnishings.”

17The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

18“Don’t cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from amongst the Levites;

19but do this to them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint everyone to his service and to his burden;

20but they shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.”

21The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

22“Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’ houses, by their families;

23you shall count them from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old: all who enter in to wait on the service, to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.

24“This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:

25they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, the covering of sealskin that is on it, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting,

26the hangings of the court, the screen for the door of the gate of the court which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatever shall be done with them. They shall serve in there.

27At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service; and you shall appoint their duty to them in all their responsibilities.

28This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the Tent of Meeting. Their duty shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

29“As for the sons of Merari, you shall count them by their families, by their fathers’ houses;

30you shall count them from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who enters on the service, to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.

31This is the duty of their burden, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets,

32the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service. You shall appoint the instruments of the duty of their burden to them by name.

33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”

34Moses and Aaron and the princes of the congregation counted the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,

35from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting.

36Those who were counted of them by their families were two thousand and seven hundred and fifty.

37These are those who were counted of the families of the Kohathites, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses.

38Those who were counted of the sons of Gershon, by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,

39from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,

40even those who were counted of them, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.

41These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Gershon, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD.

42Those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,

43from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,

44even those who were counted of them by their families, were three thousand and two hundred.

45These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses.

46All those who were counted of the Levites whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel counted, by their families and by their fathers’ houses,

47from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered in to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting,

48even those who were counted of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and eighty.

49According to the commandment of the LORD they were counted by Moses, everyone according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were counted by him, as the LORD commanded Moses.

1ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron rằng :

2“Ngươi hãy lập danh sách con cháu Cơ-hát trong dòng họ Lê-vi theo thị tộc và gia tộc chúng,

3tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những ai đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để chúng phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ.

4Dịch vụ của con cháu Cơ-hát trong Lều Hội Ngộ là phụ trách các đồ thờ cực thánh.

5Khi nhổ trại, A-ha-ron sẽ cùng với các con vào Lều, cuốn bức trướng mà phủ lên Hòm Bia Chứng Ước.

6Chúng sẽ trải lên đó tấm bạt bằng da cá heo, và trên tấm bạt này sẽ phủ tấm vải toàn màu đỏ tía, rồi lắp các đòn khiêng vào.

7Trên bàn dâng tiến, chúng sẽ trải một tấm vải đỏ tía, rồi đặt lên đó các khay, ly, chén và bình dùng trong lễ tưới rượu. Bánh thường tiến cũng phải có trên đó.

8Chúng sẽ phủ lên một tấm vải đỏ thẫm và trải thêm tấm bạt da cá heo, rồi lắp các đòn khiêng vào.

9Chúng sẽ lấy tấm vải đỏ tía mà phủ trụ đèn và đèn, kéo cắt bấc đèn, các đĩa đựng tàn, tất cả các bình đựng dầu đèn.

10Chúng sẽ để chân đèn cùng tất cả các đồ phụ tùng vào một cái bao da cá heo và đặt lên cáng.

11Trên bàn thờ bằng vàng, chúng sẽ trải tấm vải đỏ tía và phủ thêm một tấm bạt da cá heo, rồi lắp các đòn khiêng vào.

12Chúng sẽ lấy các đồ dùng vào việc thờ phượng nơi thánh điện, đem bọc trong tấm vải đỏ tía, phủ thêm một tấm bạt da cá heo, rồi đặt lên cáng.

13Sau khi đã lấy tro khỏi bàn thờ và trải lên tấm vải điều,

14chúng sẽ đặt trên đó tất cả đồ dùng vào việc thờ phượng : bình hương, xiên, xẻng, bình rảy, tất cả đồ phụ tùng của bàn thờ, phủ lên đó một tấm bạt bằng da cá heo, và lắp các đòn khiêng vào.

15Khi A-ha-ron và các con đã hoàn thành việc che phủ thánh điện cùng tất cả các đồ phụ tùng, lúc nhổ trại, thì các con của Cơ-hát sẽ đến khiêng đi ; nhưng chúng sẽ không được đụng tới các vật thánh, kẻo phải chết. Đó là những gì con cái Cơ-hát phải khiêng trong Lều Hội Ngộ.

16Phận sự của E-la-da, con tư tế A-ha-ron, là lo dầu đèn, hương thơm, lễ phẩm thường tiến, dầu tấn phong ; nó phải trông coi toàn bộ Nhà Tạm cùng mọi vật trong đó : các vật thánh và các đồ phụ tùng.”

17ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron rằng :

18“Các ngươi đừng để cho dòng họ các thị tộc Cơ-hát bị xoá bỏ khỏi chi tộc Lê-vi.

19Để chúng được sống chứ không phải chết khi tới gần các vật cực thánh, các ngươi sẽ xử với chúng như thế này : A-ha-ron và các con sẽ đến và đặt mỗi người trước cái gì phải làm, trước cái gì phải khiêng vác.

20Như vậy chúng sẽ không vào mà nhìn các đồ thánh, dù một giây lát, để rồi phải chết.”

21ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê rằng :

22“Ngươi cũng hãy lập danh sách con cháu Ghéc-sôn nữa theo gia tộc và thị tộc của chúng ;

23những người tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, ngươi sẽ kiểm tra hết, nghĩa là tất cả những ai đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để chúng phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ.

24Đây là dịch vụ mà các thị tộc Ghéc-sôn phải chu toàn :

25chúng sẽ mang các tấm thảm của Nhà Tạm và Lều Hội Ngộ, bạt che Lều, tức tấm bạt bằng da cá heo phủ trên Lều, màn che cửa Lều Hội Ngộ,

26các tấm rèm của khuôn viên, màn che cửa khuôn viên nằm quanh Nhà Tạm và bàn thờ, các dây buộc, các đồ dùng cần thiết cho dịch vụ của chúng, tóm lại tất cả những gì liên quan tới dịch vụ ấy.

27Con cái Ghéc-sôn phải thi hành mọi dịch vụ khiêng vác cũng như phục dịch, dưới quyền điều khiển của A-ha-ron và các con ; các ngươi hãy giao cho chúng trông coi tất cả những gì chúng phải khiêng vác.

28Đó là dịch vụ dành cho các thị tộc con cái Ghéc-sôn trong Lều Hội Ngộ, và chúng làm việc dưới quyền kiểm soát của I-tha-ma, con tư tế A-ha-ron.

29Ngươi hãy kiểm tra con cháu Mơ-ra-ri theo thị tộc và gia tộc của chúng,

30tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những ai đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để chúng phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ.

31Đây là những đồ vật chúng có trách nhiệm phải khiêng vác liên quan đến dịch vụ của chúng trong Lều Hội Ngộ : khung Nhà Tạm, cột, kèo và đế,

32các cột chung quanh khuôn viên cùng các đế, cọc đóng, dây thừng và tất cả đồ phụ tùng liên quan đến dịch vụ của chúng. Vậy các ngươi hãy kê khai từng thứ một tất cả các đồ vật chúng có trách nhiệm phải khiêng vác.

33Đó là các dịch vụ dành cho các thị tộc con cái Mơ-ra-ri, dịch vụ mà chúng phải thi hành trong Lều Hội Ngộ, dưới quyền kiểm soát của I-tha-ma, con tư tế A-ha-ron.”

34Ông Mô-sê cùng với ông A-ha-ron và các vị lãnh đạo cộng đồng đã kiểm tra con cháu Cơ-hát theo thị tộc và gia tộc họ,

35tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những người đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để họ phục dịch trong Lều Hội Ngộ.

36Tổng số người được kiểm tra, tính theo thị tộc, là 2.750.

37Đó là số những người trong thị tộc Cơ-hát được kiểm tra, tất cả những người phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ, mà ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron đã kiểm tra theo lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền qua ông Mô-sê.

38Số con cháu Ghéc-sôn được kiểm tra theo thị tộc và gia đình tổ tiên họ,

39tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những người đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ,

40tổng số những người được kiểm tra, theo thị tộc và gia tộc họ, là 2.630.

41Đó là số con cháu Ghéc-sôn được kiểm tra theo thị tộc, tất cả những người phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ : ông Mô-sê cùng với ông A-ha-ron kiểm tra họ theo lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA.

42Các con cháu Mơ-ra-ri được kiểm tra theo thị tộc và gia tộc,

43tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những ai đến tuổi nhập ngũ, để phục vụ trong Lều Hội Ngộ,

44tổng số những người được kiểm tra, tính theo thị tộc của họ, là 3.200.

45Đó là các thị tộc con cháu Mơ-ra-ri, mà ông Mô-sê đã cùng với ông A-ha-ron kiểm tra theo lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền qua ông Mô-sê.

46Tổng số những người Lê-vi mà ông Mô-sê cùng với ông A-ha-ron và các vị lãnh đạo Ít-ra-en đã kiểm tra theo thị tộc và gia tộc của họ,

47tuổi từ ba mươi đến năm mươi, nghĩa là tất cả những người đến tuổi phục dịch và khiêng vác trong Lều Hội Ngộ,

48tổng số những người được kiểm tra là 8.580.

49Theo lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA truyền qua ông Mô-sê, người ta kiểm tra họ, chỉ định cho mỗi người việc phải làm và đồ vật phải khiêng vác. Thế là họ được kiểm tra như ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền cho ông Mô-sê.
