Ezra

1Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the LORD’sword by Jeremiah’s mouth might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2“Cyrus king of Persia says, ‘The LORD, the Godof heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3Whoever there is amongst you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.

4Whoever is left, in any place where he lives, let the men of his place help him with silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, in addition to the free will offering for God’s house which is in Jerusalem.’”

5Then the heads of fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, all whose spirit God had stirred to go up, rose up to build the LORD’s house which is in Jerusalem.

6All those who were around them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with animals, and with precious things, in addition to all that was willingly offered.

7Also Cyrus the king brought out the vessels of the LORD’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem, and had put in the house of his gods;

8even those, Cyrus king of Persia brought out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.

9This is the number of them: thirty platters of gold, one thousand platters of silver, twenty-nine knives,

10thirty bowls of gold, four hundred and ten silver bowls of a second kind, and one thousand other vessels.

11All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought all these up when the captives were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.

1Năm thứ nhất thời vua Ky-rô trị vì nước Ba-tư, để lời ĐỨC CHÚA phán qua miệng ngôn sứ Giê-rê-mi-a được hoàn toàn ứng nghiệm, ĐỨC CHÚA tác động trên tâm trí Ky-rô, vua Ba-tư. Vua thông báo cho toàn vương quốc và ra sắc chỉ như sau :

2“Ky-rô, vua Ba-tư, phán thế này : ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa trên trời, đã ban cho ta mọi vương quốc dưới đất. Chính Người đã trao cho ta trách nhiệm tái thiết cho Người một ngôi Nhà ở Giê-ru-sa-lem tại Giu-đa.

3Vậy ai trong các ngươi thuộc dân Người, thì xin Thiên Chúa của họ ở với họ, và họ hãy lên Giê-ru-sa-lem tại Giu-đa và xây Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en. Chính Người là Thiên Chúa ngự tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

4Và mọi người còn lại ở bất cứ nơi nào họ đang trú ngụ, phải được dân địa phương cấp cho bạc vàng, của cải và thú vật, cũng như lễ vật tự nguyện, để dâng cúng cho Nhà Thiên Chúa ở Giê-ru-sa-lem

5Những người đứng đầu các gia tộc của Giu-đa và Ben-gia-min, các tư tế và các thầy Lê-vi, tất cả những người được Thiên Chúa tác động trên tâm trí, trỗi dậy để đi lên xây Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA ở Giê-ru-sa-lem.

6Mọi người hàng xóm láng giềng đều mạnh tay giúp họ : bạc, vàng, của cải, thú vật, những đồ vật có giá, không kể mọi lễ vật tự nguyện.

7Vua Ky-rô cho người đem ra ngoài những đồ vật thuộc Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA, mà vua Na-bu-cô-đô-nô-xo đã cho người đem ra khỏi Giê-ru-sa-lem và đặt trong thần miếu của nhà vua.

8Ky-rô, vua Ba-tư, đã nhờ viên thủ quỹ Mít-rơ-đát đem những đồ vật ấy ra ngoài. Viên thủ quỹ kiểm kê và giao cho ông Sết-bát-xa là thủ lãnh xứ Giu-đa.

9Đây là số các đồ vật : ba mươi chén vàng, một ngàn chén bạc, hai mươi chín con dao,

10ba mươi tô vàng, bốn trăm mười tô bạc loại thường, một ngàn đồ vật khác.

11Tổng số các đồ vật bằng vàng và bằng bạc là năm ngàn bốn trăm. Ông Sết-bát-xa mang theo tất cả các đồ vật đó, khi ông đưa những người lưu đày từ Ba-by-lon lên Giê-ru-sa-lem.
