Joshua

1Now Joshua was old and well advanced in years. The LORD said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

2“This is the land that still remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites;

3from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the border of Ekron northward, which is counted as Canaanite; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,

4on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

5and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad under Mount Hermon to the entrance of Hamath;

6all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, even all the Sidonians. I will drive them out from before the children of Israel. Just allocate it to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

7Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”

8With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them:

9from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon;

10and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon;

11and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;

12all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (who was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses attacked these, and drove them out.

13Nevertheless the children of Israel didn’t drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath live within Israel to this day.

14Only he gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The offerings of the LORD, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

15Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

16Their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba;

17Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon,

18Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

19Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar in the mount of the valley,

20Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth Jeshimoth,

21all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

22The children of Israel also killed Balaam the son of Beor, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

23The border of the children of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

24Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

25Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is near Rabbah;

26and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

27and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan’s bank, to the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

28This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and its villages.

29Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

30Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

31Half Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

32These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

33But Moses gave no inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spoke to them.

1Khi ông Giô-suê về già, tuổi đã cao, ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông : “Ngươi đã già nua tuổi tác, mà đất đai còn phải chiếm thì lại quá nhiều.

2Mọi địa hạt người Phi-li-tinh, tất cả vùng dân Gơ-sua,

3từ Si-kho đối diện với Ai-cập, cho đến ranh giới Éc-rôn ở phía bắc, cũng được coi là thuộc về Ca-na-an ; vùng đất của năm thủ lãnh Phi-li-tinh : Ga-da, Át-đốt, Át-cơ-lôn, Gát và Éc-rôn ; rồi vùng đất của người A-vim,

4ở phía nam ; trọn vùng đất người Ca-na-an và Mơ-a-ra của người Xi-đôn cho đến A-phếch, đến ranh giới của người E-mô-ri ;

5vùng đất của người Gơ-van và tất cả Li-băng phía mặt trời mọc, từ Ba-an Gát ở chân núi Khéc-môn cho đến lối vào Cửa Ải Kha-mát.

6Tất cả dân miền núi từ Li-băng đến Mít-rơ-phốt Ma-gim, mọi người Xi-đôn, chính Ta sẽ xua đuổi chúng cho khuất mắt con cái Ít-ra-en. Ngươi chỉ có việc cho Ít-ra-en bắt thăm để được đất làm gia nghiệp như Ta đã truyền cho ngươi.

7Và bây giờ, ngươi hãy chia đất này làm gia nghiệp cho chín chi tộc và nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se.”

8Cùng với nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se còn lại, chi tộc Rưu-vên và chi tộc Gát đã nhận phần gia nghiệp mà ông Mô-sê đã ban cho họ bên kia sông Gio-đan, phía đông, như ông Mô-sê, tôi trung của ĐỨC CHÚA, đã ban cho họ :

9từ A-rô-e trên bờ suối Ác-nôn và thành nằm giữa thung lũng, toàn vùng cao nguyên Mê-đơ-va cho đến Đi-vôn ;

10mọi thành của Xi-khôn, vua dân E-mô-ri, trị vì ở Khét-bôn, cho đến ranh giới của con cái Am-mon,

11Ga-la-át và lãnh thổ của người Gơ-sua và người Ma-a-kha, tất cả núi Khéc-môn và toàn miền Ba-san cho đến Xan-kha ;

12ở Ba-san, tất cả vương quốc của Ốc, là vua trị vì ở Át-ta-rốt và Ét-re-i, và là người còn sống sót của dân Ra-pha. Ông Mô-sê đã đánh bại và xua đuổi chúng đi.

13Nhưng con cái Ít-ra-en không xua đuổi được người Gơ-sua và người Ma-a-kha, khiến chúng còn sinh sống giữa Ít-ra-en cho đến ngày nay.

14Chỉ có chi tộc Lê-vi là không được nhận phần gia nghiệp : các hoả tế dâng ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en, là gia nghiệp của chi tộc đó, như lời Người đã phán với họ.

15Ông Mô-sê đã ban một phần đất cho chi tộc con cái ông Rưu-vên, theo các thị tộc của họ.

16Lãnh thổ của họ trải rộng từ A-rô-e, trên bờ suối Ác-nôn, với thành nằm giữa thung lũng, cũng như toàn vùng cao nguyên, cho đến Mê-đơ-va,

17Khét-bôn và mọi thành vùng cao nguyên : Đi-vôn, Ba-mốt Ba-an, Bết Ba-an Mơ-ôn,

18Gia-hát, Cơ-đê-mốt, Mê-pha-át,

19Kia-gia-tha-gim, Xíp-ma, Xe-rét Ha Sa-kha trên ngọn đồi nằm giữa đồng bằng,

20Bết Pơ-o, các sườn núi Pít-ga, Bết Ha Giơ-si-mốt,

21mọi thành vùng cao nguyên và toàn vương quốc của Xi-khôn, vua E-mô-ri, đang trị vì ở Khét-bôn. Ông Mô-sê đã đánh bại vua này, cũng như các thủ lãnh Ma-đi-an, E-vi, Re-kem, Xua, Khua và Re-va, là các chư hầu của Xi-khôn ở trong vùng đất đó.

22Còn thầy bói Bi-lơ-am, con ông Bơ-o, thì con cái Ít-ra-en đã lấy gươm giết chết, cùng một lượt với những người bại trận.

23Vậy lãnh thổ con cái ông Rưu-vên là sông Gio-đan và vùng phụ cận. Các thành và làng mạc của những thành ấy là gia nghiệp con cái ông Rưu-vên theo các thị tộc của họ.

24Ông Mô-sê đã ban một phần đất cho chi tộc Gát, cho con cái ông Gát, theo các thị tộc của họ.

25Lãnh thổ của họ gồm có : Gia-de và tất cả các thành miền Ga-la-át, nửa phần đất của con cái Am-mon cho đến A-rô-e, đối diện với Ráp-ba,

26từ Khét-bôn cho đến Ra-mát Ha Mít-pê và Bơ-tô-nim, từ Ma-kha-na-gim cho đến lãnh thổ Lít-via,

27và các thành trong thung lũng : Bết Ha-ram, Bết Nim-ra, Xúc-cốt, Xa-phôn, phần còn lại thuộc vương quốc của Xi-khôn, vua Khét-bôn, lấy sông Gio-đan làm ranh giới cho đến hết biển hồ Kin-ne-rét, bên kia sông Gio-đan, về phía đông.

28Các thành và làng mạc của những thành ấy là gia nghiệp con cái ông Gát, theo các thị tộc của họ.

29Ông Mô-sê đã ban một phần đất cho nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se ; đó là phần dành cho nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se, theo các thị tộc của họ.

30Lãnh thổ của họ gồm có : từ Ma-kha-na-gim, toàn miền Ba-san, toàn vương quốc của Ốc, vua Ba-san, mọi trại của Gia-ia ở miền Ba-san, tức là sáu mươi thành.

31Nửa miền Ga-la-át, Át-ta-rốt và Ét-re-i, những thành trong vương quốc của vua Ốc ở Ba-san ; các thành ấy là phần của con cái ông Ma-khia, con ông Mơ-na-se, thật ra là một nửa số con cái ông Ma-khia, theo các thị tộc của họ.

32Đó là phần ông Mô-sê ban làm gia nghiệp, trong vùng thảo nguyên Mô-áp, bên kia sông Gio-đan, đối diện với Giê-ri-khô, về phía đông.

33Nhưng ông Mô-sê không cho chi tộc Lê-vi được hưởng gia nghiệp. Chính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en, là gia nghiệp của họ, như lời Người đã phán với họ.
