1 Chronicles

1They brought in God’s ark, and set it in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

2When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the LORD’s name.

3He gave to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.

4He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the LORD’s ark, and to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel:

5Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;

6with Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.

7Then on that day David first ordained giving of thanks to the LORD by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.

8Oh give thanks to the LORD.Call on his name. Make what he has done known among the peoples.

9Sing to him.Sing praises to him. Tell of all his marvelous works.

10Glory in his holy name.Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

11Seek the LORD and his strength.Seek his face forever more.

12Remember his marvelous works that he has done,his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

13you offspringof Israel his servant,you children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

14He is the LORD our God.His judgments are in all the earth.

15Remember his covenant forever,the word which he commanded to a thousand generations,

16the covenant which he made with Abraham, his oath to Isaac.

17He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

18saying, “I will give you the land of Canaan,The lot of your inheritance,”

19when you were but a few men in number, yes, very few, and foreigners in it.

20They went about from nation to nation,from one kingdom to another people.

21He allowed no man to do them wrong.Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,

22“Don’t touch my anointed ones!Do my prophets no harm!”

23Sing to the LORD, all the earth!Display his salvation from day to day.

24Declare his glory among the nations,and his marvelous works among all the peoples.

25For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised.He also is to be feared above all gods.

26For all the gods of the peoples are idols,but the LORD made the heavens.

27Honor and majesty are before him.Strength and gladness are in his place.

28Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the peoples,ascribe to the LORD glory and strength!

29Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to his name.Bring an offering, and come before him. Worship the LORD in holy array.

30Tremble before him, all the earth.The world also is established that it can’t be moved.

31Let the heavens be glad,and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”

32Let the sea roar, and its fullness!Let the field exult, and all that is in it!

33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD,for he comes to judge the earth.

34Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,for his loving kindness endures forever.

35Say, “Save us, God of our salvation!Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.”

36Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,from everlasting even to everlasting.All the people said, “Amen,” and praised the LORD.

37So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the LORD’s covenant, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required;

38and Obed-Edom with their sixty-eight relatives; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers;

39and Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests, before the LORD’s tabernacle in the high place that was at Gibeon,

40to offer burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the LORD’s law, which he commanded to Israel;

41and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his loving kindness endures forever;

42and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.

43All the people departed, each man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.

1Chúng thỉnh hòm của Đức Chúa Trời về, để trong trại của Đa-vít đã dựng lên cho nó; đoạn dâng những của lễ thiêu và của lễ bình an tại trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời.

2Khi Đa-vít đã dâng của lễ thiêu và của lễ bình an xong, bèn nhân danh Đức Giê-hô-va chúc phước cho dân sự;

3đoạn phân phát cho hết thảy người Y-sơ-ra-ên, cả nam và nữ, mỗi người một ổ bánh, một miếng thịt, và một cái bánh nho khô.

4Người lập mấy người Lê-vi hầu việc trước hòm của Đức Giê-hô-va, ngợi khen, cảm tạ, và ca tụng Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên:

5A-sáp làm chánh, Xa-cha-ri làm phó, rồi thì Giê-i-ên, Sê-mi-ra-mốt, Giê-hi-ên, Ma-ti-thia, Ê-li-áp, Bê-na-gia, Ô-bết-Ê-đôm, và Giê-i-ên, đều cầm nhạc khí, đàn cầm và đàn sắt; còn A-sáp nổi chập chỏa vang lên.

6Bê-na-gia và thầy tế lễ Gia-ha-xi-ên đều hằng thổi kèn ở trước hòm giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời.

7Trong ngày đó, Đa-vít trao nơi tay A-sáp và anh em người bài hát nầy, đặng ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va:

8Đáng ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va cầu khẩn danh Ngài, Và đồn công việc Ngài ra giữa các dân tộc!

9Hãy ca hát cho Ngài, hãy ngợi khen Ngài! Suy gẫm về các công việc mầu của Ngài.

10Hãy lấy danh thánh Ngài làm vinh; Phàm ai tìm cầu Đức Giê-hô-va, khá vui lòng!

11Phải tìm cầu Đức Giê-hô-va và sức mạnh Ngài, Phải tìm mặt Ngài luôn luôn.

12Hỡi dòng dõi của Y-sơ-ra-ên, là đầy tớ Ngài, Hỡi con cháu của Gia-cốp, là kẻ Ngài chọn,

13Hãy nhớ lại công việc mầu của Ngài đã làm, Những phép lạ Ngài, và lời xét đoán của miệng Ngài.

14Ngài vốn là Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của chúng ta; Sự xét đoán Ngài làm ra khắp thế gian.

15Khá nhớ đời đời sự giao ước Ngài, Và mạng lịnh Ngài đã định cho ngàn đời,

16Tức giao ước, Ngài đã lập cùng Aùp-ra-ham, Và lời thề Ngài đã thề cùng Y-sác;

17Lại quyết định cho Gia-cốp làm điều lệ, Cho Y-sơ-ra-ên làm giao ước đời đời,

18Rằng: Ta sẽ ban cho ngươi xứ Ca-na-an, Là phần cơ nghiệp ngươi.

19Khi ấy các ngươi chỉ một số ít người, Hèn mọn, và làm khách trong xứ;

20Trảy từ dân nầy qua dân kia, Từ nước nầy đến nước khác.

21Ngài không cho ai hà hiếp chúng, Ngài trách phạt các vua vì cớ họ,

22Mà rằng: Chớ đụng đến những kẻ chịu xức dầu ta, Đừng làm hại cho các tiên tri ta.

23Hỡi người khắp thế gian, khá hát ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va; Ngày ngày hãy tỏ ra sự chửng cứu của Ngài!

24Trong các nước hãy thuật sự vinh hiển của Ngài; Tại muôn dân khá kể những công việc mầu của Ngài.

25Vì Đức Giê-hô-va là lớn, rất đáng ngợi khen, Đáng kính sợ hơn các thần.

26Vì các thần của những dân tộc vốn là hình tượng; Còn Đức Giê-hô-va dựng nên các từng trời.

27ỳ trước mặt Ngài có sự vinh hiển, oai nghi; Tại nơi Ngài ngự có quyền năng và sự vui vẻ,

28Hỡi các dòng của muôn dân, Khá tôn Đức Giê-hô-va vinh hiển và quyền năng;

29Khá tôn Đức Giê-hô-va vinh hiển xứng đáng danh Ngài, Đem lễ vật đến trước mặt Ngài; hãy mặc lấy trang sức thánh khiết mà thờ lạy Đức Giê-hô-va.

30Hỡi khắp thiên hạ, khá run sợ trước mặt Ngài. Thế giới cũng được vững bền, không sao lay động.

31Các từng trời hãy vui mừng, trái đất khá hỉ lạc; Còn trong các nước người ta đáng nói: Đức Giê-hô-va quản trị!

32Biển và mọi vật ở trong phải dội tiếng lớn lên; Đồng nội và vạn vật trong nó đều khá vui vẻ!

33Bấy giờ các cây cối trong rừng sẽ hát mừng rỡ trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va; Vì Ngài đến đặng xét đoán thế gian.

34Hãy cảm tạ Đức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài là nhân từ; Sự thương xót Ngài còn đến đời đời.

35Hãy nói: Hỡi Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng chửng cứu chúng tôi! xin hãy cứu rỗi chúng tôi, Hiệp chúng tôi lại, và giải thoát khỏi các nước, Để chúng tôi cảm tạ danh thánh Chúa, Và nhờ sự ngợi khen Chúa mà lấy làm được vinh.

36Đáng ngợi khen Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên. Từ đời đời cho đến đời đời! Cả dân sự đều đáp rằng: A-men! và ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va.

37Vậy, Đa-vít đặt A-sáp và anh em người tại đó, trước hòm giao ước của Đức Giê-hô-va, hầu cho mỗi ngày phục sự luôn luôn ở trước hòm, làm việc ngày nào theo ngày nấy.

38Cũng đặt Ô-bết-Ê-đôm và anh em người làm kẻ giữ cửa, số được sáu mươi tám người, và Ô-bết-Ê-đôm, con trai của Giê-đu-thun, cùng Hô-sa;

39lại đặt thầy tế lễ cả Xa-đốc và anh em người, là những thầy tế lễ ở trước đền tạm của Đức Giê-hô-va, tại nơi cao trong Ga-ba-ôn,

40đặng sớm mai và chiều hằng dâng những của lễ thiêu cho Đức Giê-hô-va, tại trên bàn thờ của lễ thiêu, tùy theo các điều chép trong luật pháp của Đức Giê-hô-va, mà Ngài đã truyền dạy cho Y-sơ-ra-ên;

41với chúng có đặt Hê-man, Giê-đu-thun, và những người đã được chọn khác, gọi từng danh, đặng ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va, vì sự thương xót Ngài còn đến đời đời;

42còn Hê-man và Giê-đu-thun cầm những kèn và chập chỏa để làm nó vang dầy lên, cùng các nhạc khí dùng về bài ca hát của Đức Chúa Trời; các con trai của Giê-đu-thun thì đứng tại nơi cửa.

43Cả dân sự đều đi, mỗi người trở về nhà mình; còn Đa-vít trở về đặng chúc phước cho nhà người.
