Hy Vọng trong Đấng Mết-si-a

1Tuy nhiên, thời kỳ tối tăm và tuyệt vọng sẽ không đến mãi mãi. Đất Sa-bu-luân và Nép-ta-li sẽ bị hạ xuống, nhưng trong tương lai, vùng Ga-li-lê của dân ngoại, nằm dọc theo đường giữa Giô-đan và biển, sẽ tràn đầy vinh quang.

2Dân đi trong nơi tối tămsẽ thấy ánh sáng lớn.Những ai sống trên đất dưới bóng tối của sự chết,một vầng sáng sẽ mọc lên.

3Chúa sẽ mở rộng bờ cõi Ít-ra-ênvà gia tăng niềm vui cho dân.Lòng dân hân hoan trước mặt Chúanhư hân hoan trong mùa gặt và như ngày phân chia chiến lợi phẩm.

4Vì Chúa đã đập tan ách đè nặng trên họvà cái đòn khiêng trên vai họ.Ngài đã bẻ gãy cây roi đánh họ,như khi Ngài đánh bại quân Ma-đi-an.

5Mỗi đôi giày của chiến sĩvà quân phục quân đầy máu trong chiến trận sẽ bị thiêu đốt.Tất cả sẽ làm mồi cho lửa.

6Vì một Hài Nhi sẽ được sinh cho chúng ta,một Con Trai được ban cho chúng ta.Quyền tể trị sẽ đặt trên vai Người.Và Người được tôn xưng là: Đấng Cố Vấn, Đấng Diệu Kỳ, Đức Chúa Trời Quyền Năng, Cha Vĩnh Hằng, và Chúa Hòa Bình.

7Quyền cai trị và nền hòa bình của Ngườisẽ không bao giờ tận.Người sẽ ngự trên ngai Đa-vít và trên vương quốc Người,tể trị bằng công lý và thánh thiện cho đến đời đời.Nguyện lòng nhiệt thành của Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quânsẽ thực hiện việc này!

Cơn Giận của Chúa Hằng Hữu Nghịch Cùng Ít-ra-ên

8Chúa đã phán nghịch cùng Gia-cốp;sự đoán phạt của Ngài sẽ giáng xuống Ít-ra-ên.

9Người Ít-ra-ên và người Sa-ma-ri,là những người kiêu căng và ngang bướng, sẽ sớm biết sứ điệp ấy.

10Họ nói: “Chúng ta sẽ thay gạch đã đổ nát bằng đá đẽo,và thay cây sung đã bị đốn bằng cây bá hương.”

11Nhưng Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ mang quân Rê-xin tấn công Ít-ra-ênvà Ngài khiến tất cả kẻ thù của chúng nổi dậy.

12Quân Sy-ri từ phía đông,và quân Phi-li-tin từ phía tây sẽ hả miệng nuốt sống Ít-ra-ên.Dù vậy, cơn giận của Chúa sẽ không giảm.Tay Ngài sẽ vẫn đưa lên.

13Vì sau những trừng phạt này, dân chúng sẽ vẫn không ăn năn.Họ sẽ không tìm cầu Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân.

14Vì thế, chỉ trong một ngày, Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ cắt cả đầu lẫn đuôi,cả cành lá kè và cây sậy.

15Những người lãnh đạo của Ít-ra-ên là đầu,những tiên tri dối trá là đuôi.

16Vì những người lãnh đạo đã lạc lối.Nên họ đã dắt dân vào đường hủy diệt.

17Đó là tại sao Chúa không ưa những thanh niên,cũng không thương xót các quả phụ và cô nhi.Vì chúng đều vô đạo và gian ác,miệng chúng đều buông lời càn dỡ.Nhưng cơn giận của Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ không giảm.Tay Ngài sẽ vẫn đưa lên.

18Sự bạo tàn sẽ cháy lên như ngọn lửa.Thiêu đốt không chỉ bụi cây và gai gốc, mà khiến cả khu rừng bốc cháy.Khói của nó sẽ bốc lên nghi ngút tận mây.

19Đất sẽ bị cháy đen bởi cơn thịnh nộ của Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân.Dân chúng sẽ làm mồi cho lửa, và không ai biết thương tiếc dù là chính anh em mình.

20Họ sẽ cướp láng giềng bên phải mà vẫn còn đói.Họ sẽ ăn nuốt láng giềng bên trái mà vẫn chưa no. Cuối cùng họ sẽ ăn chính con cháu mình.

21Ma-na-se vồ xé Ép-ra-im,Ép-ra-im chống lại Ma-na-se, và cả hai sẽ hủy diệt Giu-đa.Nhưng dù vậy, cơn giận của Chúa Hằng Hữu vẫn không giảm.Tay Ngài sẽ vẫn đưa lên.

1At the first time the land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephtali was lightly touched: and at the last the way of the sea beyond the Jordan of the Galilee of the Gentiles was heavily loaded.

2The people that walked in darkness, have seen a great light: to them that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.

3Thou hast multiplied the nation, and hast not increased the joy. They shall rejoice before thee, as they that rejoice in the harvest, as conquerors rejoice after taking a prey, when they divide the spoils.

4For the yoke of their burden, and the rod of their shoulder, and the sceptre of their oppressor thou best overcome, as in the day of Median.

5For every violent taking of spoils, with tumult, and garment mingled with blood, shall be burnt, and be fuel for the fire.

6For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace.

7His empire shall be multiplied, and there shall be no end of peace: he shall sit upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom; to establish it and strengthen it with judgment and with justice, from henceforth and for ever: the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.

9And all the people of Ephraim shall know, and the inhabitants of Samaria that say in the pride and haughtiness of their heart:

10The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with square stones: they have cut down the sycamores, but we will change them for cedars.

11And the Lord shall set up the enemies of Rasin over him, and shall bring on his enemies in a crowd:

12The Syrians from the east, and the Philistines from the west: and they shall devour Israel with open mouth, For all this his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

13And the people are not returned to him who hath struck them, and have not sought after the Lord of hosts.

14And the Lord shall destroy out of Israel the head and the tail, him that bendeth down, and him that holdeth back, in one day.

15The aged and honourable, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

16And they that call this people blessed, shall cause them to err: and they that are called blessed, shall be thrown down headlong.

17Therefore the Lord shell have no joy in their young men: neither shall he have mercy on their fatherless, and widows: for every one is a hypocrite and wicked, and every mouth hath spoken folly. For all this his indignation is not turned away, but his bend is stretched out still.

18For wickedness is kindled as a fire, it shall devour the brier and the thorn: and shall kindle in the thicket of the forest, and it shall be wrapped up in smoke ascending on high.

19By the wrath of the Lord of hosts the land is troubled, and the people shall be as fuel for the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

20And he shall turn to the right hand, and shall be hungry: and shall eat on the left hand, and shall not be filled: every one shell eat the flesh of his own arm: Manasses Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasses, and they together shall be against Juda.

21After all these things his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
