2 Kings

1In the seven and twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Azarias son of Amasias, king of Juda.

2He was sixteen years old, when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Jechelia of Jerusalem.

3And he did that which was pleasing before the Lord, according to all that his father Amasias had done.

4But the high places he did not destroy: for the people sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

5And the Lord struck the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and he dwelt in a free house apart: but Joatham the king’s soil governed the palace, and judged the people of the land.

6And the rest of the acts of Azarias, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?

7And Azarias slept with his fathers: and they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David, and Joatham his son reigned in his stead.

8In the eight and thirtieth year of Azarias king of Juda, reigned Zacharias son of Jeroboam over Israel in Samaria six months:

9And he did that which is evil before the Lord, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat who made Israel to sin.

10And Sellum the son of Jabes conspired against him: and struck him publicly and killed him, and reigned in his place.

11Now the rest of the acts of Zacharias, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

12This was the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Jehu, saying: Thy children to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.

13Sellum the son of Jabes began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Azarias king of Juda: and reigned one month in Samaria.

14And Manahem the son of Gadi went up from Thersa: and he came into Samaria, and struck Sellum the son of Jabes in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

15And the rest of the acts of Sellum, and his conspiracy, which he made, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

16Then Manahem destroyed Thapsa and all that were in it and the borders thereof from Thersa, because they would not open to him: and he slew all the women thereof that were with child, and ripped them up.

17In the nine and thirtieth year of Azarias king of Juda, reigned Manahem son of Gadi over Israel ten years in Samaria.

18And he did that which was evil before the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin all his days.

19And Phul king of the Assyrians came into the land, and Manahem gave Phul a thousand talents of silver, to aid him and to establish him in the kingdom.

20And Manahem laid a tax upon Israel, on all that were mighty and rich, to give the king of the Assyrians, each man fifty sides of silver: so the king of the Assyrians turned back, and did not stay in the land.

21And the rest of the acts of Manahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

22And Manahem slept with his fathers: and Phaceia his son reigned in his stead.

23In the fiftieth year of Azarias king of Juda reigned Phaceia the son of Manahem over Israel in Samaria two years.

24And he did that which was evil before the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin.

25And Phacee the son of Romelia, his captain conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the tower of the king’s house, near Argob, and near Arie, and with him fifty men of the sons of the Galaadites, and he slew him and reigned in his stead.

26And the rest of the acts of Phaceia, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

27In the two and fiftieth year of Azarias king of Juda reigned Phacee the son of Romelia over Israel in Samaria twenty years.

28And he did that which was evil before the Lord: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin.

29In the days of Phacee king of Israel came Theglathphalasar king of Assyria, and took Aion, and Abel Domum Maacha and Janoe, and Cedes, and Asor, and Galaad, and Galilee, and all the land of Nephtali: and carried them captives into Assyria.

30Now Osee son of Ela conspired, and formed a plot against Phacee, the son of Romelia, and struck him, and slew him: and reigned in his stead in the twentieth year of Joatham the son of Ozias.

31But the rest of the acts of Phaces, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

32In the second year of Phacee the son of Romelia king of Israel reigned Joatham son of Ozias king of Juda.

33He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Jerusa, the daughter of Sadoc.

34And he did that which was right before the Lord: according to all that his father Ozias had done, so did he.

35But the high places he took not away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places: he built the highest gate of the house of the Lord.

36But the rest of the acts of Joatham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?

37In those days the Lord began to send into Juda Basin king of Syria, and Phacee the son of Romelia.

38And Joatham slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David his father, and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.

1Năm thứ hai mươi bảy triều Gia-róp-am, vua Ít-ra-en, con vua A-mát-gia, vua Giu-đa, là A-dác-gia, lên làm vua.

2Ông lên ngôi vua khi được mười sáu tuổi, và trị vì năm mươi hai năm ở Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua tên là Giơ-khôn-gia-hu, người Giê-ru-sa-lem.

3Vua đã làm điều ngay chính trước mắt ĐỨC CHÚA, hoàn toàn đúng như vua cha là A-mát-gia-hu đã làm.

4Tuy nhiên, các tế đàn ở nơi cao đã không bị phá huỷ, dân chúng vẫn còn tế lễ và đốt hương trên các nơi cao đó.

5ĐỨC CHÚA đánh phạt vua ; vua mắc bệnh phong cho đến ngày qua đời, và sống cô lập trong một căn nhà. Chính ông Giô-tham, con vua, làm đại nội thị thần và cai trị dân trong xứ.

6Các truyện còn lại của vua A-dác-gia-hu và mọi việc vua làm đã chẳng được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Giu-đa đó sao ?

7Vua A-dác-gia đã nằm xuống với tổ tiên và được chôn cất bên cạnh tổ tiên trong Thành vua Đa-vít. Con vua là Giô-tham lên ngôi kế vị vua cha.

8Năm thứ ba mươi tám triều vua A-dác-gia-hu, vua Giu-đa, con vua Gia-róp-am là Dơ-khác-gia lên làm vua Ít-ra-en và trị vì sáu tháng ở Sa-ma-ri.

9Vua đã làm điều dữ trái mắt ĐỨC CHÚA như tổ tiên vua. Vua đã không dứt bỏ các tội mà vua Gia-róp-am, con ông Nơ-vát, đã phạm và lôi kéo Ít-ra-en phạm theo.

10Ông Sa-lum, con ông Gia-vết, âm mưu hại vua. Ông đã đánh chết vua trước mặt dân, rồi lên ngôi thay vua.

11Các truyện còn lại của vua Dơ-khác-gia đã được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Ít-ra-en.

12ĐỨC CHÚA đã phán với vua Giê-hu rằng : “Con cháu ngươi sẽ ngự trên ngai cai trị Ít-ra-en cho đến đời thứ bốn” ; lời ấy đã ứng nghiệm.

13Con ông Gia-vết là Sa-lum lên làm vua năm thứ ba mươi chín triều vua Út-di-gia, vua Giu-đa. Vua trị vì được một tháng ở Sa-ma-ri.

14Ông Mơ-na-khêm, con ông Ga-đi, đi lên từ Tia-xa và tiến vào Sa-ma-ri. Tại Sa-ma-ri, ông đánh chết vua Sa-lum, con ông Gia-vết, và lên làm vua thay vua ấy.

15Những truyện còn lại của vua Sa-lum và cuộc âm mưu vua đã chủ xướng, những sự việc ấy đã được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Ít-ra-en.

16Bấy giờ, vua Mơ-na-khêm đánh phạt Táp-pu-ác, và mọi người ở trong đó cũng như lãnh thổ của thành bắt đầu từ Tia-xa, vì người trong thành đã không mở cửa cho vua ; vua đã mổ bụng tất cả phụ nữ có thai.

17Năm thứ ba mươi chín triều vua A-dác-gia, vua Giu-đa, con ông Ga-đi là Mơ-na-khêm lên làm vua cai trị Ít-ra-en mười năm, ở Sa-ma-ri.

18Trong thời vua Mơ-na-khêm,

19vua Át-sua là Pun xâm nhập xứ sở, và vua Mơ-na-khêm nộp cho vua Pun ba mươi ngàn ký bạc để vua này nâng đỡ và củng cố vương quyền vua đang nắm trong tay.

20Vua Mơ-na-khêm thu bạc ấy của Ít-ra-en, của mọi phú hào, để nộp cho vua Át-sua : mỗi người mười lăm lượng bạc. Vì thế, vua Át-sua đã trở về nước, không ở lại trong xứ.

21Các truyện còn lại của vua Mơ-na-khêm, và mọi việc vua làm, đã chẳng được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Ít-ra-en đó sao ?

22Vua Mơ-na-khêm đã nằm xuống với tổ tiên. Con vua là Pơ-các-gia lên ngôi kế vị vua cha.

23Năm thứ năm mươi triều vua A-dác-gia, vua Giu-đa, con vua Mơ-na-khêm là Pơ-các-gia lên làm vua cai trị Ít-ra-en hai năm, ở Sa-ma-ri.

24Vua đã làm điều dữ trái mắt ĐỨC CHÚA, vua không dứt bỏ những tội mà vua Gia-róp-am, con ông Nơ-vát, đã phạm và lôi kéo Ít-ra-en phạm theo.

25Giám mã của vua là ông Pe-các, con ông Rơ-man-gia-hu, âm mưu chống lại vua và hạ sát vua ở Sa-ma-ri, trong tháp chính của đền vua... Có năm mươi người dân Ga-la-át cùng theo ông. Ông giết vua và lên ngôi thay thế.

26Các truyện còn lại của vua Pơ-các-gia, và mọi việc vua làm, đã được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Ít-ra-en.

27Năm thứ năm mươi hai triều vua A-dác-gia, vua Giu-đa, con ông Rơ-man-gia-hu là Pe-các lên làm vua cai trị Ít-ra-en hai mươi năm, ở Sa-ma-ri.

28Vua đã làm điều dữ trái mắt ĐỨC CHÚA, vua không dứt bỏ những tội mà vua Gia-róp-am, con ông Nơ-vát, đã phạm và lôi kéo Ít-ra-en phạm theo.

29Trong thời gian vua Pe-các, vua Ít-ra-en, vua Át-sua là Tích-lát Pi-le-xe đến xâm chiếm I-giôn, A-vên Bết Ma-a-kha, Gia-nô-ác, Ke-đét, Kha-xo, miền Ga-la-át và Ga-li-lê, toàn xứ Náp-ta-li, rồi đày dân sang Át-sua.

30Ông Hô-sê, con ông Ê-la, âm mưu chống lại vua Pe-các, con ông Rơ-man-gia-hu, đánh chết vua và lên ngôi thay thế, vào năm thứ hai mươi triều vua Giô-tham, con vua Út-di-gia.

31Các truyện còn lại của vua Pe-các, và mọi việc vua làm, đã được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Ít-ra-en.

32Năm thứ hai triều Pe-các, vua Ít-ra-en, con ông Rơ-man-gia-hu, thì con vua Út-di-gia-hu, vua Giu-đa, là Giô-tham lên làm vua.

33Ông lên ngôi vua khi được hai mươi lăm tuổi, và trị vì mười sáu năm ở Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua tên là Giơ-ru-sa, con gái ông Xa-đốc.

34Vua đã làm điều ngay chính trước mắt ĐỨC CHÚA, đúng như vua cha là Út-di-gia-hu đã làm.

35Chính vua đã xây Cửa Trên của Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA.

36Các truyện còn lại của vua Giô-tham, những việc vua làm, đã chẳng được ghi chép trong sách Sử biên niên các vua Giu-đa đó sao ?

37Vào thời ấy, ĐỨC CHÚA bắt đầu sai vua A-ram là Rơ-xin và vua Pe-các, con ông Rơ-man-gia-hu, đến đánh Giu-đa.

38Vua Giô-tham đã an nghỉ với tổ tiên và được chôn cất bên cạnh tổ tiên trong Thành Đa-vít, tổ phụ vua. Con vua là A-khát lên ngôi kế vị.
