Proverbs

1My son, if thou dost accept my sayings, And my commands dost lay up with thee,

2To cause thine ear to attend to wisdom, Thou inclinest thy heart to understanding,

3For, if for intelligence thou callest, For understanding givest forth thy voice,

4If thou dost seek her as silver, And as hid treasures searchest for her,

5Then understandest thou fear of Jehovah, And knowledge of God thou findest.

6For Jehovah giveth wisdom, From His mouth knowledge and understanding.

7Even to lay up for the upright substance, A shield for those walking uprightly.

8To keep the paths of judgment, And the way of His saints He preserveth.

9Then understandest thou righteousness, And judgment, and uprightness — every good path.

10For wisdom cometh into thy heart, And knowledge to thy soul is pleasant,

11Thoughtfulness doth watch over thee, Understanding doth keep thee,

12To deliver thee from an evil way, From any speaking froward things,

13Who are forsaking paths of uprightness, To walk in ways of darkness,

14Who are rejoicing to do evil, They delight in frowardness of the wicked,

15Whose paths [are] crooked, Yea, they are perverted in their ways.

16To deliver thee from the strange woman, From the stranger who hath made smooth her sayings,

17Who is forsaking the guide of her youth, And the covenant of her God hath forgotten.

18For her house hath inclined unto death, And unto Rephaim her paths.

19None going in unto her turn back, Nor do they reach the paths of life.

20That thou dost go in the way of the good, And the paths of the righteous dost keep.

21For the upright do inhabit the earth, And the perfect are left in it,

22And the wicked from the earth are cut off, And treacherous dealers plucked out of it!

Ích Lợi của Khôn Ngoan

1Con ơi, nếu con nghe lời ta dạy,và gìn giữ các mệnh lệnh ta.

2Lắng tai nghe điều khôn ngoan,và hướng lòng về điều thông sáng.

3Nếu con cầu xin sáng suốt,và khát khao hiểu biết.

4Nếu con kiếm nó như bạc,tìm tòi nó như kho tàng giấu kín.

5Lúc ấy, con sẽ am hiểu sự kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu,và sẽ tìm được tri thức về Đức Chúa Trời.

6Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu ban khôn ngoan!Từ miệng Ngài ra điều tri thức và thông sáng.

7Chúa dành khôn ngoan thật cho người công chính.Ngài là thuẫn cho người làm điều ngay thật.

8Ngài bảo vệ con đường của công lývà che chở đường lối của các thánh Ngài.

9Lúc ấy con sẽ hiểu công chính, công bình, và ngay thẳng,con sẽ biết mọi đường lối tốt đẹp.

10Khi khôn ngoan vào lòng con,tri thức sẽ thỏa mãn tâm hồn.

11Tính thận trọng bảo vệ con.Thông sáng gìn giữ con luôn.

12Khôn ngoan sẽ cứu con khỏi đường tà,và khỏi người nói lời gian trá.

13Những người bỏ lối ngay thẳngmà đi theo đường tối tăm.

14Họ vui thích làm điều xấu,và ham mê sự đồi trụy của người ác.

15Lối họ quanh co,và họ lầm lạc trong đường mình.

16Khôn ngoan cứu con khỏi dâm phụ,khỏi đàn bà ngoại tình với lời quyến rũ.

17Ả đã lìa bỏ bạn đời của ả lúc thiếu thờivà quên lời giao ước thiêng liêng trước Đức Chúa Trời.

18Nhà của ả đưa vào cõi chết;đường của ả dẫn đến âm ty,

19Ai đến với ả đều không trở về.Không ai tìm được nẻo của sự sống.

20Khôn ngoan giúp người lương thiện,gìn giữ lối người công chính.

21Vì người ngay thẳng sẽ sống trong xứ,và người trong sạchsẽ ở đó luôn.

22Nhưng người ác bị dứt khỏi mặt đất,người bất trung cũng sẽ bị nhổ đi.
