1 Chronicles

1So all Israel were listed by genealogies; and behold,they are written in the book of the kings of Israel. Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.

2Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the temple servants.

3In Jerusalem, there lived of the children of Judah, of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:

4Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.

5Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their brothers, six hundred ninety.

7Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9and their brothers, according to their generations, nine hundred fifty-six. All these men were heads of fathers’ households by their fathers’ houses.

10Of the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jachin,

11and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house;

12and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

13and their brothers, heads of their fathers’ houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty; they were very able men for the work of the service of God’s house.

14Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

15and Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph,

16and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

17The gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their brothers (Shallum was the chief),

18who previously served in the king’s gate eastward. They were the gatekeepers for the camp of the children of Levi.

19Shallum was the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent. Their fathers had been over the LORD’s camp, keepers of the entry.

20Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him.

21Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the door of the Tent of Meeting.

22All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the thresholds were two hundred twelve. These were listed by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.

23So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the LORD’s house, even the house of the tent, as guards.

24On the four sides were the gatekeepers, toward the east, west, north, and south.

25Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them,

26for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house.

27They stayed around God’s house, because that was their duty; and it was their duty to open it morning by morning.

28Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service, for these were brought in by count, and these were taken out by count.

29Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, over the fine flour, the wine, the oil, the frankincense, and the spices.

30Some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixing of the spices.

31Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.

32Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.

33These are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service, for they were employed in their work day and night.

34These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men. They lived at Jerusalem.

35Jeiel the father of Gibeon, whose wife’s name was Maacah, lived in Gibeon.

36His firstborn son was Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

37Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

38Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their relatives in Jerusalem, near their relatives.

39Ner became the father of Kish. Kish became the father of Saul. Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

40The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal. Merib-baal became the father of Micah.

41The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

42Ahaz became the father of Jarah. Jarah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri. Zimri became the father of Moza.

43Moza became the father of Binea, Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.

44Azel had six sons, whose names are Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.

5Bởi người Si-lô-ni có A-sai-gia con trưởng nam, và các con trai của người.

6Bởi con cháu Xê-rách, có Giê-u-ên và anh em người, là sáu trăm chín mươi người.

7Về dòng Bên-gia-min, có Sa-lu, con trai của Mê-su-lam; Mê-su-lam, con trai của Hô-đa-via; Hô-đa-via, con trai của A-sê-nu-a;

8lại có Gíp-nê-gia, con trai của Giê-rô-ham, Ê-la con trai của U-xi; U-xi là con trai của Mi-cơ-ri và Mê-su-lam, con trai của Sê-pha-tia; Sê-pha-tia là con trai của Rê-u-ên; Rê-u-ên con trai của Gíp-nê-gia,

9và anh em chúng kể theo thế hệ thì được chín trăm năm mươi sáu người. Những người ấy đều làm trưởng tộc.

10Trong những thầy tế lễ có Giê-đai-gia, Giê-hô-gia-ríp, Gia-kin,

11và A-xa-ria, con trai của Hinh-kia; Hinh-kia con trai của Mê-su-lam; Mê-su-lam con trai của Xa-đốc; Xa-đốc con trai của Mê-ra-giốt; Mê-ra-giốt, con trai của A-hi-túp, là kẻ cai quản đền của Đức Chúa Trời;

12lại có A-đa-gia, con trai của Giê-rô-ham; Giê-rô-ham, con trai của Pha-sua; Pha-sua, con trai của Manh-ki-gia; Manh-ki-gia, con trai của Ma-ê-sai; Ma-ê-sai, con trai của A-đi-ên; A-đi-ên, con trai của Gia-xê-ra; Gia-xê-ra, con trai của Mê-su-lam; Mê-su-lam, con trai của Mê-si-lê-mít; Mê-si-lê-mít, con trai của Y-mê;

13và anh em của chúng, số là một ngàn bảy trăm sáu mươi người, đều làm trưởng tộc, có tài hầu việc trong đền của Đức Chúa Trời.

14Trong người Lê-vi có Sê-ma-gia, con trai của Ha-súp, cháu của A-ri-kham, chắt của Ha-sa-bia; thảy đều thuộc về dòng Mê-ra-ri;

15lại có Bác-ba-cát, Hê-re, Ga-la, Ma-tha-nia, đều là con trai của Mi-ca, cháu của Xiếc-ri, chắt của A-sáp;

16Ô-ba-đia, con trai của Sê-ma-gia, cháu của Ga-la, chắt của Giê-đu-thum; Bê-rê-kia, con trai của A-sa, cháu của Eân-ca-na, là người ở trong làng dân Nê-tô-pha-tít.

17Những kẻ canh cửa, là Sa-lum, A-cúp, Tanh-môn, A-hi-man, và anh em của chúng; Sa-lum làm đầu.

18Cho đến bây giờ họ canh cửa đông của vua; còn xưa tổ tiên họ đều giữ cửa trại người Lê-vi.

19Sa-lum con trai Cô-rê, cháu của Ê-bi-a-sáp, chắt của Cô-ra, và anh em tông tộc mình; ấy là dân Cô-rê lo coi sóc sự phục dịch, và canh giữ các cửa đền tạm; xưa tổ phụ chúng cai quản trại của Đức Giê-hô-va, và giữ cửa trại.

20Xưa Phi-nê-a, con trai Ê-lê-a-sa, làm quan cai chúng, và Đức Giê-hô-va ở với người.

21Xa-cha-ri, con trai Mê-sê-lê-mia, là kẻ giữ cửa hội mạc.

22Những kẻ nầy đã được lựa chọn hầu canh giữ các cửa, số được hai trăm mười hai người. Người ta chép gia phổ họ theo các hương họ; vua Đa-vít và Sa-mu-ên, là đấng tiên kiến, đã lập mấy người ấy trong chức của họ.

23Aáy vậy, chúng và con cháu của chúng, đều theo ban thứ, mà coi giữ các cửa đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, tức là đền tạm.

24Các kẻ giữ cửa đặt ở bốn phía đền về đông, tây, nam, và bắc.

25Các anh em chúng ở trong các làng mình phải đến từng tuần, theo phiên thứ, mà giúp đỡ.

26Còn bốn người Lê-vi làm trưởng những người canh cửa, hằng giữ chức mình, và coi sóc các phòng và kho thành tàng trong đền của Đức Chúa Trời.

27Ban đêm chúng ở xung quanh đền của Đức Chúa Trời canh giữ nó; đến mỗi buổi sáng sớm chúng lại lo mở cửa ra.

28Trong bọn chúng cũng có mấy người được chức giữ đồ khí dụng, vì các đồ ấy đem ra đem vô y theo số.

29Lại có kẻ khác được cắt coi sóc đồ đạc và các khí dụng tại nơi thánh, cùng lo giữ bột miến, rượu, dầu, nhũ hương, và các thuốc thơm.

30Có mấy kẻ trong bọn con trai những thầy tế lễ chế các thứ hương hoa.

31Còn Ma-ti-thia, người Lê-vi, con trưởng nam của Sa-lum, thuộc về dòng Cô-rê, coi sóc việc làm bánh rán trong chảo.

32Mấy kẻ trong vòng anh em chúng về dòng Kê-hát, được chức coi về việc làm bánh trần thiết, hễ đến ngày sa-bát thì phải sắm cho sẵn.

33Đây là những người có chức hát xướng, đều làm trưởng tộc trong người Lê-vi, vẫn ở trong các phòng của đền, và vì phục sự ngày và đêm, nên được miễn các công việc khác.

34Những người ấy đều làm trưởng tộc của người Lê-vi, theo dòng dõi họ, và ở tại thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.

35Giê-i-ên, tổ phụ của Ga-ba-ôn, ở tại thành Ga-ba-ôn; tên vợ người là Ma-a-ca.

36Con trưởng nam của người là Aùp-đôn; lại sanh Xu-rơ, Kích, Ba-anh, Nê-rơ, Na-đáp,

37Ghê-đô, A-hi-ô, Xa-cha-ri, và Mích-lô.

38Mích-lô sanh Si-mê-am. Chúng cũng đồng ở cùng anh em mình trong thành Giê-ru-sa-lem đối mặt nhau.

39Nê-rơ sanh Kích; Kích sanh Sau-lơ; Sau-lơ sanh Giô-na-than, Manh-ki-sua, A-bi-na-đáp, và Eách-ba-anh.

40Con trai Giô-na-than là Mê-ri-Ba-anh; Mê-ri-Ba-anh sanh Mi-ca.

41Con trai của Mi-ca là Phi-thôn, Mê-léc, Ta-rê-a, và A-cha.

42A-cha sanh Gia-ê-ra; Gia-ê-ra sanh A-lê-mết, Aùch-ma-vết và Xim-ri; Xim-ri sanh Một-sa;

43Một-sa sanh Bi-nê-a, con trai Bi-nê-a là Rê-pha-gia; Rê-pha-gia sanh Ê-lê-a-sa, và Ê-lê-a-sa sanh A-xên.

44A-xên có sáu người con trai, tên là A-ri-kham, Bốc-ru, ỗch-ma-ên, Sê-a-ria, Ô-ba-đia, và Ha-nan; ấy đều là con trai của A-xên.
