Những Vùng Đất Chưa Đánh Chiếm

1Thời gian trôi qua, Giô-suê đã cao tuổi. Chúa Hằng Hữu phán với ông: “Tuổi con đã cao, đất chưa chiếm còn nhiều.

2Đó là vùng đất của người Phi-li-tin, của người Ghê-sua

3từ sông Si-ho gần Ai Cập chạy về phía bắc cho đến biên giới Éc-rôn (tất cả được coi như người Ca-na-an), đất của năm lãnh chúa Phi-li-tin gồm Ga-xa, Ách-đốt, Ách-kê-lôn, Gát, và Éc-rôn, đất của người A-vim

4ở phía nam, đất của người Ca-na-an từ Mê-a-ra gần Si-đôn cho đến A-phéc gần biên giới A-mô-rít,

5đất của người Ghi-ba, đất Li-ban từ Ba-anh Gát ở phía đông, dưới chân Núi Hẹt-môn cho đến lối vào Ha-mát,

6các vùng núi non của người Si-đôn từ Li-ban cho đến Mích-rê-phốt Ma-im. Chính Ta sẽ đuổi các dân này ra, họ sẽ bị Ít-ra-ên đánh bại. Con sẽ theo lời Ta dặn, chia đất cho người Ít-ra-ên.

7Đất này sẽ thuộc về chín đại tộc và nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se còn lại.”

Phân Chia Phần Đất Vùng Phía Đông Sông Giô-đan

8Trước đó Môi-se, đầy tớ Chúa, đã chia đất bên bờ phía đông Giô-đan cho đại tộc Ru-bên, đại tộc Gát, và nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se.

9Vùng đất này chạy dài từ A-rô-e trên triền thung lũng Ạt-nôn, gồm các thành ở giữa thung lũng này và miền cao nguyên Mê-đê-ba cho đến tận Đi-bôn.

10Đất này cũng gồm các thành của Si-hôn, vua A-mô-rít, có kinh đô ở Hết-bôn, cho đến biên giới người Am-môn;

11gồm cả đất Ga-la-át; đất của người Ghê-sua, người Ma-a-cát; vùng Núi Hẹt-môn; đất Ba-san và Sanh-ca;

12đất của Óc, vua Ba-san, người còn sót lại của dân Rê-pha-im, có kinh đô ở Ách-ta-rốt và Ết-rê-i. Vua này là vua người khổng lồ cuối cùng còn lại, vì Môi-se đã đánh đuổi họ đi.

13Còn người Ghê-sua và Ma-a-cát không bị Ít-ra-ên đuổi đi nên cho đến nay họ vẫn sống chung với người Ít-ra-ên trong địa phương này.

Chia Phần cho Đại Tộc Lê-vi

14Khi chia đất cho các đại tộc, Môi-se đã không chia cho người Lê-vi, vì phần của họ là các lễ vật do người Ít-ra-ên đem dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên. Ngài đã truyền cho họ như thế.

Phần Đất Chia cho Đại Tộc Ru-bên

15Môi-se chia cho đại tộc Ru-bên một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của đại tộc này.

16Đất của họ chạy từ A-rô-e trên triền thung lũng Ạt-nôn, gồm có thành ở giữa thung lũng này và cao nguyên Mê-đê-ba

17cho đến Hết-bôn với các thành trong đồng bằng: Đi-bôn, Ba-mốt Ba-anh, Bết-ba-anh-mê-ôn,

18Gia-xa, Kê-đê-mốt, Mê-phát,

19Ki-ri-a-ta-im, Síp-ma, Xê-rết-sa-ha trên ngọn đồi đứng giữa thung lũng,

20Bết Phê-o, triền núi Phích-ga, và Bết-giê-si-mốt.

21Như vậy, đất của họ gồm tất cả các thành trong đồng bằng và toàn giang san của Si-hôn, vua A-mô-rít có kinh đô là Hết-bôn. Vua này cùng với các tù trưởng Ma-đi-an: Ê-vi, Rê-kem, Xu-rơ, Hu-rơ và Rê-ba (các chư hầu của Si-hôn) đều bị Môi-se đánh bại.

22Lúc ấy người Ít-ra-ên cũng giết luôn thuật sĩ Ba-la-am, con của Bê-ô.

23Sông Giô-đan là biên giới phía tây của đất Ru-bên. Vậy, người Ru-bên chia nhau chiếm hữu các thành với các thôn ấp phụ cận trong giới hạn đất mình.

Phần Đất Chia cho Đại Tộc Gát

24Môi-se chia cho đại tộc Gát một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của đại tộc này.

25Đất của họ gồm có Gia-ê-xe, các thành Ga-la-át, phân nửa đất của người Am-môn cho đến A-rô-e đối diện Ráp-ba,

26và từ Hết-bôn đến Ra-mát Mít-bê, Bê-tô-nim, từ Ma-ha-na-im đến biên giới Đê-bia;

27các thành trong thung lũng: Bết Ha-ram, Bết Nim-ra, Su-cốt, Xa-phôn; phần đất còn lại của Si-hôn, vua Hết-bôn; và đất dọc theo Sông Giô-đan bên bờ phía đông, cho đến biển Ki-nê-rết. Sông này là biên giới phía tây.

28Người Gát chia nhau chiếm hữu các thành với các thôn ấp phụ cận theo từng gia tộc trong giới hạn đất mình.

Phần Đất Chia cho Phân Nửa Đại Tộc Ma-na-se

29Môi-se cũng chia cho phân nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se một phần đất tương xứng với số gia đình của họ.

30Đất của họ chạy từ Ma-ha-na-im qua toàn lãnh vực Ba-san—đất của Óc, vua Ba-san—và Giai-rơ trong vùng Ba-san được sáu mươi thành;

31phân nửa đất Ga-la-át; các thành của Óc, vua Ba-san là Ách-ta-rốt, và Ết-rê-i. Vậy các con cháu Ma-kigồm phân nửa đại tộc Ma-na-se chia nhau chiếm hữu phần đất này.

32Đó là cách Môi-se phân phối đất đai bên bờ phía đông Sông Giô-đan. Lúc ấy Ít-ra-ên đang ở trong đồng bằng Mô-áp đối diện Giê-ri-cô.

33Môi-se không chia cho đại tộc Lê-vi phần đất nào cả, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên là phần của Lê-vi, như Ngài đã bảo họ.

1And Joshua is old, entering into days, and Jehovah saith unto him, 'Thou hast become aged, thou hast entered into days; as to the land, very much hath been left to possess.

2'This [is] the land that is left; all the circuits of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,

3from Sihor which [is] on the front of Egypt, and unto the border of Ekron northward, to the Canaanite it is reckoned, five princes of the Philistines, the Gazathite, and the Ashdothite, the Eshkalonite, the Gittite, and the Ekronite, also the Avim.

4'From the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah, which [is] to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, unto the border of the Amorite;

5and the land of the Giblite, and all Lebanon, at the sun-rising, from Baal-Gad under mount Hermon, unto the going in to Hamath:

6all the inhabitants of the hill-country, from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-Maim, all the Sidonians: I — I dispossess them before the sons of Israel; only, cause it to fall to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

7'And now, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh,' —

8with it the Reubenite, and the Gadite, have received their inheritance, which Moses hath given to them beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses servant of Jehovah hath given to them;

9from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dihon,

10and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the Bene-Ammon,

11and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurite, and of the Maachathite, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;

12all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei; he was left of the remnant of the Rephaim, and Moses doth smite them, and dispossess them;

13and the sons of Israel dispossessed not the Geshurite, and the Maachathite; and Geshur and Maachath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.

14Only, to the tribe of Levi he hath not given an inheritance; fire-offerings of Jehovah, God of Israel, is its inheritance, as He hath spoken to it.

15And Moses giveth to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, for their families;

16and the border is to them from Aroer, which [is] on the edge of the brook Arnon, and the city which [is] in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba,

17Heshbon, and all its cities which [are] in the plain, Dibon, and Bamoth-Baal, and Beth-Baal-Meon,

18and Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

19and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-Shahar, in the mount of the valley,

20and Beth-Peor, and the springs of Pisgah, and Beth-Jeshimoth,

21and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, princes of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.

22And Balaam, son of Beor, the diviner, have the sons of Israel slain with the sword, among their wounded ones.

23And the border of the sons of Reuben is the Jordan, and [its] border; this [is] the inheritance of the sons of Reuben, for their families, the cities and their villages.

24And Moses giveth to the tribe of Gad, to the sons of Gad, for their families;

25and the border is to them Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and the half of the land of the Bene-Ammon, unto Aroer which [is] on the front of Rabbah,

26and from Heshbon unto Ramath-Mispeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir,

27and in the valley, Beth-Aram, and Beth-Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and [its] border, unto the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan, eastward.

28This [is] the inheritance of the sons of Gad, for their families, the cities and their villages.

29And Moses giveth to the half of the tribe of Manasseh; and it is to the half of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, for their families.

30And their border is from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the small towns of Jair, which [are] in Bashan, sixty cities;

31and the half of Gilead, and Ashteroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [are] to the sons of Machir, son of Manasseh, to the half of the sons of Machir, for their families.

32These [are] they whom Moses caused to inherit in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, [by] Jericho, eastward;

33and to the tribe of Levi Moses gave not an inheritance; Jehovah, God of Israel, Himself [is] their inheritance, as He hath spoken to them.
