1Và giờ đây, Giê-ru-sa-lem hỡi,

2cửa nội thành, ta đã dừng chân.

3được xây nên một khối vẹn toàn.

4như lệnh đã truyền cho Ít-ra-en.

5ngai vàng của vương triều Đa-vít.

6rằng : “Chúc thân hữu của thành luôn thịnh đạt,

7lâu đài dinh thự mãi an ninh.”

8tôi nói rằng : “Chúc thành đô an lạc.”

9tôi ước mong thành được hạnh phúc, hỡi thành đô.

1To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.

2Behold as the eyes of the servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us.

3Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.

4For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud.
