1And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan over against Jericho and the waters thereof, on the east: the wilderness which goeth up from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel:

2And goeth out from Bethel to Luza: and passeth the border of Archi, to Ataroth,

3And goeth down westward, by the border of Jephleti, unto the borders of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gazer: and the countries of it are ended by the great sea:

4And Manasses and Ephraim the children of Joseph possessed it.

5And the border of the children of Ephraim was according to their kindreds: and their possession towards the east was Ataroth-addar unto Beth-horon the upper.

6And the confines go out unto the sea: but Machmethath looketh to the north, and it goeth round the borders eastward into Thanath-selo: and passeth along on the east side to Janoe.

7And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.

8From Taphua it passeth on towards the sea into the valley of reeds, and the goings out thereof are at the most salt sea. This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.

9And there were cities with their villages separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the possession of the children of Manasses.

10And the children of Ephraim slew not the Chanaanite, who dwelt in Gazer: and the Chanaanite dwelt in the midst of Ephraim until this day, paying tribute.

1Phần con cái ông Giu-se bắt thăm được khởi đầu từ sông Gio-đan đối diện với Giê-ri-khô, đến vùng nước Giê-ri-khô, về phía đông, băng qua sa mạc từ Giê-ri-khô lên đến núi Bết Ên,

2rồi từ Bết Ên, tới Lút và đi về phía ranh giới của người Ác-ki ở A-ta-rốt,

3sau đó xuống phía tây, hướng tới ranh giới của người Giáp-lết, cho đến ranh giới Bết Khô-rôn Hạ và đến Ghe-de, rồi dừng lại ở biển.

4Đó là gia nghiệp của hai con ông Giu-se là Mơ-na-se và Ép-ra-im.

5Ranh giới con cái Ép-ra-im theo các thị tộc của họ, ranh giới phần gia nghiệp của họ phía đông là từ Át-rốt Át-đa cho đến Bết Khô-rôn Thượng.

6Ranh giới đó đi tới biển, phía bắc có Mích-mơ-thát, phía đông hướng về Ta-a-nát Si-lô, rồi băng qua đó, đi về phía đông Gia-nô-ác.

7Từ Gia-nô-ác, ranh giới đó đi xuống A-ta-rốt và Na-a-ra, gặp Giê-ri-khô, và đi tới sông Gio-đan.

8Từ Táp-pu-ác, ranh giới đó tiến về suối Ca-na ở mạn tây, rồi dừng lại ở biển. Đó là gia nghiệp của chi tộc con cái Ép-ra-im, theo các thị tộc của họ,

9ngoài ra còn có những thành dành cho con cái Ép-ra-im nằm giữa gia nghiệp con cái Mơ-na-se : tất cả những thành và làng mạc của các thành ấy.

10Nhưng họ đã không xua đuổi được người Ca-na-an ở tại Ghe-de. Người Ca-na-an ở lại giữa Ép-ra-im cho đến ngày nay, nhưng phải lo làm việc khổ sai.
