1 Chronicles

1Moreover David and the chief. officers of the army separated for the ministry the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Idithun: to prophesy with harps, and with psalteries, and with cymbals according to their number serving in their appointed office.

2Of the sons of Asaph: Zacchur, and Joseph, and Nathania, and Asarela, sons of Asaph: under the hand of Asaph prophesying near the king.

3And of Idithun: the sons of Idithun, Godolias, Serf, Jeseias, and Hasabias, and Mathathias, six, under the hand of their father Idithun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the Lord.

4Of Heman also: the sons of Heman, Bocciau, Mathaniau, Oziel, Subuel, and Jerimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, and Romemthiezer, and Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth:

5All these were the sons of Heman the seer of the king in the words of God, to lift up the horn: and God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6All these under their father’s hand were distributed to sing in the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, and psalteries and harps, for the service of the house of the Lord near the king: to wit, Asaph, and Idithun, and Heman.

7And the number of them with their brethren, that taught the song of the Lord, all the teachers, were two hundred and eighty-eight,

8And they cast lots by their courses, the elder equally with the younger, the learned and the unlearned together.

9And the first lot came forth to Joseph, who was of Asaph. The second to Godolias, to him and his sons, and his brethren twelve.

10The third to Zachur, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

11The fourth to Isari, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

12The fifth to Nathania, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

13The sixth to Bocciau, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

14The seventh to Isreela, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

15The eighth to Jesaia, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

16The ninth to Mathanaias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

17The tenth to Semeias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

18The eleventh to Azareel, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

19The twelfth to Hasabia, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

20The thirteenth to Subael, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

21The fourteenth to Mathathias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

22The fifteenth to Jerimoth, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

23The sixteenth to Hananias, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

24The seventeenth to Jesbacassa, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

25The eighteenth to Hanani, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

26The nineteenth to Mellothi, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

27The twentieth to Eliatha, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

28The one and twentieth to Othir, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

29The two and twentieth to Geddelthi, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

30The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

31The four and twentieth to Romemthiezer, to his sons and his brethren twelve.

2Trong số các con ông A-xáp : Dắc-cua, Giô-xếp, Nơ-than-gia và A-xác-ê-la ; những người con này của ông A-xáp do ông A-xáp điều khiển, còn ông thì hát thánh ca theo lệnh của vua.

3Về ông Giơ-đu-thun, các con ông Giơ-đu-thun là : Gơ-đan-gia-hu, Xơ-ri, Giơ-sa-gia-hu, Kha-sáp-gia-hu và Mát-tít-gia-hu, sáu người do cha của họ điều khiển, còn ông Giơ-đu-thun thì hát những bài ca được linh hứng theo tiếng đàn cầm để tôn vinh và ca ngợi ĐỨC CHÚA.

4Về ông Hê-man, các con ông Hê-man là : Búc-ki-gia-hu, Mát-tan-gia-hu, Út-di-ên, Sơ-vu-ên, Giơ-ri-mốt, Kha-nan-gia, Kha-na-ni, Ê-li-a-tha, Ghít-đan-ti, Rô-mam-ti E-de, Giót-bơ-ca-sa, Ma-lô-ti, Hô-thia, Ma-kha-di-ốt.

5Tất cả những người này đều là con ông Hê-man, thầy chiêm của vua, người chuyển lời Thiên Chúa cho vua để đề cao uy lực của Người. Thiên Chúa ban cho ông Hê-man mười bốn người con trai và ba người con gái.

6Các ông A-xáp, Giơ-đu-thun và Hê-man,

7được tính chung vào với anh em của họ là những người thành thạo việc hát xướng kính ĐỨC CHÚA và là những bậc nhạc sư, tất cả được hai trăm tám mươi tám người.

8Họ bắt thăm về phiên công tác phải giữ, nhỏ cũng như lớn, thầy cũng như trò.

9Thăm thứ nhất trúng ông Giô-xếp thuộc nhà A-xáp. Thứ hai : ông Gơ-đan-gia-hu ; ông với anh em ông và các con ông là mười hai người.

10Thứ ba : ông Dắc-cua, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

11Thứ tư : ông Gít-ri, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

12Thứ năm : ông Nơ-than-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

13Thứ sáu : ông Búc-ki-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

14Thứ bảy : ông Giơ-xác-ê-la, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

15Thứ tám : ông Giơ-sa-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

16Thứ chín : ông Mát-tan-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

17Thứ mười : ông Sim-y, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

18Thứ mười một : ông A-dác-ên, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

19Thứ mười hai : ông Kha-sáp-gia, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

20Thứ mười ba : ông Su-va-ên, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

21Thứ mười bốn : ông Mát-tít-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

22Thứ mười lăm : ông Giơ-rê-mốt, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

23Thứ mười sáu : ông Kha-nan-gia-hu, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

24Thứ mười bảy : ông Giót-bơ-ca-sa, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

25Thứ mười tám : ông Kha-na-ni, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

26Thứ mười chín : ông Ma-lô-ti, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

27Thứ hai mươi : ông Ê-li-gia-tha, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

28Thứ hai mươi mốt : ông Hô-thia, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

29Thứ hai mươi hai : ông Ghít-đan-ti, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

30Thứ hai mươi ba : ông Ma-kha-di-ốt, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.

31Thứ hai mươi bốn : ông Rô-mam-ti E-de, các con ông và anh em ông là mười hai người.
