Deuteronomy

1Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover to the LORD your God; for in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night.

2You shall sacrifice the Passover to the LORD your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

3You shall eat no leavened bread with it. You shall eat unleavened bread with it seven days, even the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste) that you may remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

4No yeast shall be seen with you in all your borders seven days; neither shall any of the meat, which you sacrifice the first day at evening, remain all night until the morning.

5You may not sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates which the LORD your God gives you;

6but at the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell in, there you shall sacrifice the Passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came out of Egypt.

7You shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God chooses. In the morning you shall return to your tents.

8Six days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God. You shall do no work.

9You shall count for yourselves seven weeks. From the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain you shall begin to count seven weeks.

10You shall keep the feast of weeks to the LORD your God with a tribute of a free will offering of your hand, which you shall give according to how the LORD your God blesses you.

11You shall rejoice before the LORD your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are amongst you, in the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

12You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. You shall observe and do these statutes.

13You shall keep the feast of booths seven days, after you have gathered in from your threshing floor and from your wine press.

14You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates.

15You shall keep a feast to the LORD your God seven days in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be altogether joyful.

16Three times in a year all of your males shall appear before the LORD your God in the place which he chooses: in the feast of unleavened bread, in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of booths. They shall not appear before the LORD empty.

17Every man shall give as he is able, according to the LORD your God’s blessing which he has given you.

18You shall make judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement.

19You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality. You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

20You shall follow that which is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God gives you.

21You shall not plant for yourselves an Asherah of any kind of tree beside the LORD your God’s altar, which you shall make for yourselves.

22Neither shall you set yourself up a sacred stone which the LORD your God hates.

1Anh (em) hãy giữ tháng A-víp và mừng lễ Vượt Qua kính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), vì trong tháng A-víp, ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), đã đưa anh (em) ra khỏi Ai-cập ban đêm.

2Anh (em) hãy giết chiên dê và bò làm lễ vật Vượt Qua dâng ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), ở nơi ĐỨC CHÚA chọn cho Danh Người ngự.

3Anh (em) không được ăn bánh có men với lễ vật đó ; trong vòng bảy ngày, anh (em) sẽ ăn bánh không men –thứ bánh khổ cực, vì anh (em) đã phải vội vã ra khỏi đất Ai-cập–, để mọi ngày trong đời anh (em), anh (em) nhớ ngày ra khỏi đất Ai-cập.

4Trong vòng bảy ngày, không ai được thấy anh (em) có men trên toàn lãnh thổ anh (em) ; và thịt con vật anh (em) đã tế chiều ngày thứ nhất, thì không được giữ lại gì qua đêm cho đến sáng.

5Anh (em) không được giết lễ vật Vượt Qua ở bất cứ thành nào khác trong những thành mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), ban cho anh (em) ;

6nhưng chỉ ở nơi ĐỨC CHÚA chọn cho danh Người ngự, anh (em) mới được giết lễ vật Vượt Qua, vào buổi chiều, khi mặt trời lặn, là thời điểm anh (em) ra khỏi Ai-cập.

7Anh (em) sẽ nấu mà ăn, ở nơi ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), chọn, rồi sáng ngày anh (em) sẽ quay về lều trại mình.

8Trong vòng sáu ngày, anh (em) sẽ ăn bánh không men, đến ngày thứ bảy, sẽ có buổi họp long trọng kính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), anh (em) không được làm công việc gì.

9Anh (em) sẽ tính bảy tuần : từ khi bắt đầu mang liềm đi gặt lúa, anh (em) bắt đầu tính bảy tuần.

10Rồi anh (em) sẽ mừng lễ Ngũ Tuần kính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), dâng lễ vật tự nguyện, tuỳ theo phúc lành ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), ban cho anh (em).

11Ở nơi ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), đã chọn cho Danh Người ngự, anh (em) sẽ liên hoan trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), cùng với con trai con gái, tôi tớ nam nữ, với thầy Lê-vi ở trong các thành của anh (em), với ngoại kiều và cô nhi quả phụ sống giữa anh (em).

12Anh (em) hãy nhớ mình đã làm nô lệ bên Ai-cập, anh (em) phải giữ và đem ra thực hành các thánh chỉ này.

13Còn lễ Lều, anh (em) sẽ mừng trong vòng bảy ngày, khi đã thu hoạch lúa trong sân và rượu trong bồn đạp nho.

14Anh (em) sẽ liên hoan mừng lễ, cùng với con trai con gái, tôi tớ nam nữ, với thầy Lê-vi, ngoại kiều và cô nhi quả phụ ở trong các thành của anh (em).

15Trong vòng bảy ngày, anh (em) sẽ mở lễ kính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), tại nơi ĐỨC CHÚA chọn, vì ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em) chúc phúc cho anh (em) là ban cho anh (em) mọi hoa lợi và cho mọi công việc tay anh (em) làm được kết quả ; anh (em) chỉ có việc hân hoan.

16Mỗi năm ba lần, tất cả đàn ông con trai của anh (em) phải đến trình diện ĐỨC CHÚA, ở nơi Người chọn : vào dịp lễ Bánh Không Men, lễ Ngũ Tuần và lễ Lều. Người ta sẽ không đến trình diện ĐỨC CHÚA tay không.

18Anh (em) phải đặt cho các chi tộc của anh (em) những thẩm phán và ký lục trong mọi thành mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), ban cho anh (em) ; họ sẽ xét xử dân cách công minh.

19Anh (em) không được làm sai lệch công lý, không được thiên vị ai và không được nhận quà hối lộ, vì quà hối lộ làm cho những kẻ khôn ngoan hoá ra đui mù và làm hỏng việc của những người công chính.

20Anh (em) hãy theo đuổi sự công chính, chỉ sự công chính mà thôi, để anh (em) được sống và được chiếm hữu đất mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em), ban cho anh (em).

21Anh (em) không được cắm cột thờ để mà thờ, dù bằng thứ gỗ nào, bên cạnh bàn thờ anh (em) sẽ làm để kính ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em).

22Anh (em) không được dựng trụ đá để mà thờ : đó là cái mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh (em) ghét.
