Psalms

A Psalm by Asaph.

1God, the nations have come into your inheritance.They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

2They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky,the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.

3They have shed their blood like water around Jerusalem.There was no one to bury them.

4We have become a reproach to our neighbors,a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

5How long, LORD?Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?

6Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you,on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name,

7for they have devoured Jacob,and destroyed his homeland.

8Don’t hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us.Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.

9Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name.Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.

10Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.

11Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you.According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.

12Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosomtheir reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.

13So we, your people and sheep of your pasture,will give you thanks forever. We will praise you forever, to all generations.

1Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, các dân ngoại đã chiếm cơ nghiệp Chúa.Họ làm cho Đền Thờ Chúa ra hoen ố, và biến Giê-ru-sa-lem thành nơi đổ nát điêu tàn.

2Họ bỏ thây đầy tớ Chúalàm thức ăn cho chim trời.Xác những người tin kính Ngàitrở thành thức ăn cho thú rừng cắn nuốt.

3Máu đổ như nước tưới Giê-ru-sa-lem;không còn ai mai táng xác người.

4Các nước lân bang đã nhạo cười,các dân tộc mỉa mai, chế nhạo.

5Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, đến bao giờ Chúa nguôi cơn giận? Mãi mãi sao?Đến bao giờ lửa ghen tức của Chúa mới tàn?

6Xin đổ thịnh nộ trên các dân khước từ tìm biết Ngài—trên các vương quốc không kêu cầu Danh Chúa.

7Vì họ đã cắn nuốt nhà Gia-cốp,khiến đất đai trở nên hoang tàn.

8Xin Chúa đừng quy tội tổ phụ cho chúng con!Xin mau mau mở lòng thương xót, vì chúng con đã tàn mạt tận bùn đen.

9Xin ra tay phù hộ, lạy Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng cứu rỗi chúng con!Xin giúp chúng con vì Danh vinh quang Chúa.Vì Danh cao cả của Ngài,xin giải cứu, tẩy sạch tội lỗi chúng con.

10Sao Chúa để các dân kia chế nhạo:“Nào Đức Chúa Trời chúng nó ở đâu?”Ngay trước mắt chúng tôi, nguyện các nước được biếtsự báo thù máu vô tội của các đầy tớ Ngài.

11Nguyện tiếng rên la của tù nhân thấu tai Chúa.Xin Chúa cứu mạng những người bị án tử hình.

12Xin báo trả gấp bảy lần cho người thù nghịchvì họ dám thách thức Ngài, lạy Chúa.

13Khi ấy, dân của Chúa, bầy chiên trong đồng cỏ Ngài,sẽ cảm tạ Ngài mãi mãi, chúng con sẽ chúc tụng Ngài đời đời.
