Job

1Elihu also continued, and said,

2“Bear with me a little, and I will show you;for I still have something to say on God’s behalf.

3I will get my knowledge from afar,and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

4For truly my words are not false.One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.

5“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone.He is mighty in strength of understanding.

6He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked,but gives justice to the afflicted.

7He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous,but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

8If they are bound in fetters,and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

9then he shows them their work,and their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.

10He also opens their ears to instruction,and commands that they return from iniquity.

11If they listen and serve him,they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12But if they don’t listen, they will perish by the sword;they will die without knowledge.

13“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger.They don’t cry for help when he binds them.

14They die in youth.Their life perishes among the unclean.

15He delivers the afflicted by their affliction,and opens their ear in oppression.

16Yes, he would have allured you out of distress,into a wide place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.

17“But you are full of the judgment of the wicked.Judgment and justice take hold of you.

18Don’t let riches entice you to wrath,neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

19Would your wealth sustain you in distress,or all the might of your strength?

20Don’t desire the night,when people are cut off in their place.

21Take heed, don’t regard iniquity;for you have chosen this rather than affliction.

22Behold, God is exalted in his power.Who is a teacher like him?

23Who has prescribed his way for him?Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness’?

24“Remember that you magnify his work,about which men have sung.

25All men have looked on it.Man sees it afar off.

26Behold, God is great, and we don’t know him.The number of his years is unsearchable.

27For he draws up the drops of water,which distill in rain from his vapor,

28which the skies pour downand which drop on man abundantly.

29Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the cloudsand the thunderings of his pavilion?

30Behold, he spreads his light around him.He covers the bottom of the sea.

31For by these he judges the people.He gives food in abundance.

32He covers his hands with the lightning,and commands it to strike the mark.

33Its noise tells about him,and the livestock also, concerning the storm that comes up.

2Xin hãy nhịn tôi một chút, tôi sẽ chỉ cho ông; Vì tôi còn những lời binh vực Đức Chúa Trời.

3Tôi sẽ đem đến từ xa điều tôi hiểu biết, Và xưng tỏ sự công bình của Đấng Tạo hóa tôi.

4Quả hẳn các lời luận tôi chẳng phải giả dối; Đấng vốn trọn vẹn về tri thức đang ở cùng ông.

5Kìa, Đức Chúa Trời có quyền năng, không khinh bỉ ai; Trí huệ Ngài rất rộng lớn.

6Ngài chẳng bảo tồn mạng sống của kẻ gian ác, Nhưng xử đoán công bình cho kẻ khổ nạn.

7Ngài chẳng xây mặt khỏi người công bình; Song Ngài khiến họ đồng ngồi cùng các vua trên ngôi mãi mãi, Và họ được cao trọng.

8Nếu họ phải mang xiềng xích, Và bị dây gian truân vấn vướng,

9Thì Ngài chỉ tỏ cho họ công việc mình đã làm, Các tội lỗi và tánh hạnh kiêu ngạo của họ.

10Ngài cũng mở lỗ tai của chúng cho nghe lời sửa dạy, Khuyên họ trở lại bỏ điều gian ác.

11Nếu chúng vâng nghe và phục sự Ngài, Thì các ngày chúng sẽ được may mắn, Và những năm chúng được sự vui sướng.

12Nhưng nếu họ không khứng nghe theo, ắt sẽ bị gươm giết mất, Và chết không hiểu biết gì.

13Lòng giả hình tích chứa sự thạnh nộ; Khi Đức Chúa Trời bắt xiềng chúng, chúng chẳng kêu cứu.

14Chúng chết đang buổi thanh xuân; Đời chúng bị hư mất trong bọn gian dâm.

15Đức Chúa Trời dùng sự hoạn nạn mà cứu kẻ bị hoạn nạn, Và nhờ sự hà hiếp mà mở lỗ tai của người.

16Ngài cũng chắc đã muốn dụ ông khỏi hoạn nạn, Đặt ông nơi khoảng khoát, chẳng còn sự cực lòng; Còn các món ăn dọn nơi bàn ông, tất đều được đầy mỡ béo.

17Nhưng ông đầy dẫy sự nghị luận của kẻ ác; Sự xét đoán và sự hình phạt chắc sẽ hãm bắt ông.

18Chớ để cơn giận giục ông chống cự cùng sự sửa phạt; Đừng lầm lạc vì cớ giá bội thường lớn quá.

19Chớ thì sự giàu có ông và các thế lực của ông, Có thể cứu ông khỏi sự hoạn nạn sao?

20Chớ ước ao đêm tối, Là lúc dân tộc bị cất đi khỏi chỗ mình.

21Khá giữ lấy mình, chớ xây về tội ác; Vì ấy là điều ông ưa chọn hơn sự hoạn nạn.

22Kìa, Đức Chúa Trời dùng quyền năng mà làm việc cách cao cả, Có giáo sư nào giống như Ngài chăng?

23Ai có chỉ dạy cho Ngài biết con đường của Ngài? Và ai nói rằng: Chúa có làm quấy?

24Hãy nhớ ngợi khen các công việc Chúa, Mà loài người thường có ca tụng.

25Mọi người đều đã ngoạn xem công việc ấy, Và loài người từ xa nhìn thấy nó.

26Phải, Đức Chúa Trời là cực đại, chúng ta không biết được Ngài; Số năm của Ngài thọ không ai kể xiết được.

27Vì Ngài thâu hấp các giọt nước: Rồi từ sa mù giọt nước ấy bèn hóa ra mưa,

28Đám mây đổ mưa ấy ra, Nó từ giọt sa xuống rất nhiều trên loài người.

29ai có thể hiểu được cách mây giăng ra, Và tiếng lôi đình của nhà trại Ngài?

30Kìa, Chúa bủa ánh sáng ra chung quanh Ngài, Và che lấp đáy biển.

31Vì nhờ những điều ấy Ngài xét đoán các dân tộc; Ngài ban cho lương thực nhiều.

32Ngài giấu sấm sét trong tay Ngài, Và truyền nó phải đánh nơi nào.

33Tiếng sấm sét báo cáo việc Ngài, Và chính súc vật cũng đoán điềm dông mưa gần đến.
