1 Chronicles

1These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.

3David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.

4There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.

5Thus they were divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

6Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, the princes, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

7Now the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

8the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,

9the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,

10the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,

11the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,

12the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,

13the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,

14the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

15the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,

16the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,

17the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,

18the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

19This was their ordering in their service, to come into the LORD’s house according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

20Of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

21Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.

22Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.

23The sons of Hebron: Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

24The sons of Uzziel: Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir.

25The brother of Micah: Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.

26The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.

27The sons of Merari by Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.

28Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

29Of Kish, the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.

30The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses.

31These likewise cast lots even as their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites, the fathers’ households of the chief even as those of his younger brother.

1Nầy là ban thứ của con cháu A-rôn: Con trai của A-rôn là Na-đáp, A-bi-hu, Ê-lê-a-sa, và Y-tha-ma.

2Na-đáp và A-bi-hu chết trước cha của chúng và không có con; nên Ê-lê-a-sa và Y-tha-ma làm chức thầy tế lễ.

3Đa-vít khiến Xa-đốc, con cháu Ê-lê-a-sa, và A-hi-mê-léc, con cháu Y-tha-ma, phân ban thứ cho chúng tùy theo chức việc chúng làm.

4Trong con cái Ê-lê-a-sa có nhiều trưởng tộc hơn trong con cháu Y-tha-ma; họ phân ban thứ như vầy: về con cháu Ê-lê-a-sa có mười sáu trưởng tộc; còn về con cháu Y-tha-ma, theo tông tộc họ có tám trưởng tộc.

5Người ta bắt thăm phân chúng từng ban thứ, hoặc người nầy người kia; vì các trưởng của nơi thánh, và các trưởng của Đức Chúa Trời đều thuộc trong con cháu Ê-lê-a-sa và trong con cháu Y-tha-ma.

6Sê-ma-gia, con trai của Na-tha-na-ên, người ký lục, thuộc trong chi phái Lê-vi, biên tên chúng vào sổ tại trước mặt vua và trước mặt các quan trưởng, trước mặt thầy tế lễ Xa-đốc, A-hi-mê-léc, con trai của A-bia-tha, và trước mặt các trưởng tộc của những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi; trong con cháu Ê-lê-a-sa bắt thăm lấy một họ hàng, rồi trong con cháu Y-tha-ma cũng bắt thăm lấy một họ hàng.

7Cái năm thứ nhất trúng nhằm Giê-hô-gia-ríp; cái thăm thứ nhì nhằm Giê-đa-ê-gia;

8cái thăm thứ ba nhằm Ha-rim; cái thăm thứ tư nhằm Sê-ô-rim;

9cái thăm thứ năm nhằm Manh-kia; cái thăm thứ sáu nhằm Mia-min;

10cái thăm thứ bảy nhằm Cốt; cái thăm thứ tám nhằm A-bi-gia;

11cái thăm thứ chín nhằm Giê-sua; cái thăm thứ mười nhằm Sê-ca-nia;

12cái thăm thứ mười một nhằm Ê-li-a-síp; cái thăm thứ mười hai nhằm Gia-kim;

13cái thăm thứ mười ba nhằm Húp-ba; cái thăm thứ mười bốn nhằm Giê-sê-báp;

14cái thăm thứ mười lăm nhằm Binh-ga; cái thăm thứ mười sáu nhằm Y-mê;

15cái thăm thứ mười bảy nhằm Hê-xia; cái thăm thứ mười tám nhằm Phi-xết;

16cái thăm thứ mười chín nhằm Phê-ta-hia, cái thăm thứ hai mươi nhằm Ê-xê-chi-ên;

17cái thăm thứ hai mươi mốt nhằm Gia-kin; cái thăm thứ hai mươi hai nhằm Ga-mun;

18cái thăm thứ hai mươi ba nhằm Đê-la-gia; cái thăm thứ hai mươi bốn nhằm Ma-a-xia.

19Aáy đó là ban thứ của chúng trong chức việc mình, đặng vào trong đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, tùy theo lịnh của A-rôn, tổ phụ chúng, đã truyền cho, y như Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên đã phán dặn người.

20Nầy là con cháu của Lê-vi còn lại: về con cháu Am-ram có Su-ba-ên; về con cháu Su-ba-ên có Giê-đia.

21về con cháu Rê-ha-bia có Di-si-gia làm trưởng.

22Trong con cháu Dít-sê-ha có Sê-lô-mốt; về con cháu Sê-lô-mốt có Gia-hát.

23về con cháu Hếp-rôn có Giê-ri-gia, con trưởng; A-ma-ria thứ nhì, Gia-ha-xi-ên thứ ba, và Gia-ca-mê-am thứ tư.

24về con cháu U-xi-ên có Mi-ca; về con cháu Mi-ca có Sa-mia.

25Anh em của Mi-ca là Dít-hi-gia; về con cháu Dít-hi-gia có Xa-cha-ri.

26Con trai Mê-ra-ri là Mác-li và Mu-si; con trai Gia-a-xi-gia là Bê-nô,

27con cháu của Mê-ra-ri là Bê-nô, Sô-ham, Xác-cua, và Y-bê-ri, đều là con trai của Gia-a-xi-gia.

28Con trai của Mác-li là Ê-lê-a-sa, là người không có con trai.

29Về con cháu Kích có Giê-rác-mê-ên.

30Con trai của Mu-si là Mác-li, Ê-đe và Giê-ri-mốt. Aáy đó là con cháu Lê-vi, tùy theo tông tộc của chúng.

31Chúng cũng như anh em mình, là con cháu A-rôn, bắt thăm tại trước mặt vua Đa-vít, Xa-đốc, và A-hi-mê-léc, cùng trước mặt các trưởng tộc của những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi; các trưởng tộc cũng phải bắt thăm như các em út mình.
