1Như nai khát khao tìm suối nước,linh hồn con mơ ước Đức Chúa Trời.

2Hồn linh con khao khát Đấng Vĩnh Sinh,bao giờ con được đi gặp Chúa?

3Thức ăn của con ngày đêm là dòng lệ,khi kẻ thù suốt ngày mỉa mai: “Đức Chúa Trời của ngươi ở đâu?”

4Nhớ xưa con cùng cả đoàn ngườihành hương đến nhà Đức Chúa Trời,giữa những tiếng hoan ca cảm tạ,người dự lễ đông vui!Giờ nhớ lại những điều ấylòng con tan nát xót xa.

5Hồn ta hỡi, sao còn buồn bã?Sao còn bối rối trong ta?Cứ hy vọng nơi Đức Chúa Trời!Ta sẽ còn ngợi tôn Chúa— Đấng Cứu Rỗi và Đức Chúa Trời của ta!

6Khi hồn con thất vọng,con nhớ Chúa,dù ở Giô-đan, Núi Hẹt-môn,hay Núi Mi-sa, con vẫn nhớ Ngài.

7Vực thẳm gọi nhau trong thác lũ ầm ầm,sóng thần lớp lớp phủ tràn thân xác.

8Tình thương Chúa Hằng Hữu vẫn phủ con khi ngày đến,và ban đêm, con dâng tiếng ngợi ca Ngài, như lời nguyện cầu Đức Chúa Trời của đời con.

9Con kêu khóc: “Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, Vầng Đá của con.Sao Ngài nỡ quên con?Sao con phải đau buồnvì kẻ thù áp đảo?”

10Xương cốt con như gãy vụn.Họ suốt ngày mỉa mai: “Đức Chúa Trời ngươi ở đâu?”

11Hồn ta hỡi, sao còn buồn bã?Sao mãi bối rối trong ta?Ta sẽ đặt hy vọng nơi Đức Chúa Trời!Ta sẽ còn ngợi tôn Chúa— Đấng Cứu Rỗi và Đức Chúa Trời của ta!

1As the deer pants for streams of water,so my soul longs after You, O God.

2My soul thirsts for God, the living God.When shall I come and appear in God’s presence?

3My tears have been my foodboth day and night,while men ask me all day long,“Where is your God?”

4These things come to mind as I pour out my soul:how I walked with the multitude,leading the festive procession to the house of Godwith shouts of joy and praise.

5Why are you downcast, O my soul?Why the unease within me?Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Himfor the salvation of His presence.

6O my God, my soul despairs within me.Therefore I remember Youfrom the land of Jordan and the peaks of Hermon—even from Mount Mizar.

7Deep calls to deepin the roar of Your waterfalls;all Your breakers and waveshave rolled over me.

8The LORD decrees His loving devotion by day,and at night His song is with me as a prayer to the God of my life.

9I say to God my Rock,“Why have You forgotten me?Why must I walk in sorrowbecause of the enemy’s oppression?”

10Like the crushing of my bones,my enemies taunt me,while they say to me all day long,“Where is your God?”

11Why are you downcast, O my soul?Why the unease within me?Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him,my Savior and my God.
