Tin Cậy Chúa Hằng Hữu

1Con ơi, đừng quên lời ta dạy.Nhưng giữ những mệnh lệnh ta trong lòng con.

2Nếu con làm vậy, con sẽ được gia tăng tuổi thọ,và cho đời sống con thịnh vượng.

3Đừng để nhân từ, chân thật xa lìa con!Hãy đeo vào cổ để nhắc nhớ. Hãy ghi sâu vào lòng mình.

4Như thế, trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời và loài người,con được ân huệ và sự hiểu biết chính đáng.

5Hãy hết lòng tin cậy Chúa Hằng Hữu;đừng nương vào sự hiểu biết của riêng con.

6Trong các việc làm của con, hãy cầu xin Ngài,và Ngài sẽ hướng dẫn con trong các nẻo con đi.

7Đừng khôn ngoan theo mắt mình.Hãy kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu, xa lánh điều ác.

8Như thế, thân xác con sẽ mạnh khỏevà xương con được cứng cáp.

9Hãy dùng tài sản và hoa lợi đầu mùamà tôn vinh Chúa Hằng Hữu.

10Như thế, kho thóc con đầy dẫy,thùng chứa rượu mới tràn đầy.

11Con ơi, đừng coi thường sự sửa phạt của Chúa Hằng Hữu,đừng bực mình khi Ngài trừng trị.

12Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu sửa dạy người Ngài yêu,như cha đối với con yêu dấu.

13Phước cho người tìm được khôn ngoan,vì nhận được sự thông sáng.

14Vì được nó có ích hơn được bạc,và sinh lợi hơn vàng.

15Khôn ngoan quý hơn hồng ngọc;không có gì con ao ước sánh kịp.

16Tay phải của khôn ngoan có trường thọ,còn tay trái có giàu sang và vinh dự.

17Các đường của khôn ngoan đều thích thú;mọi nẻo của nó đều an vui.

18Nó là cây vĩnh sinh cho người nắm lấy;và hạnh phúc cho ai giữ chặt.

19Chúa Hằng Hữu do khôn ngoan sáng tạo đất;và do thông sáng thiết lập trời.

20Do tri thức Ngài, biển sâu mở toang,và mây đọng thành sương.

21Con ơi, hãy giữ khôn ngoan thật và thận trọng.Đừng để nó xa tầm mắt con.

22Nó là sức sống trong tâm hồn,là trang sức duyên dáng nơi cổ con.

23Nhờ đó, con tiến bước an toàn,chân con không vấp ngã.

24Khi nằm, con không phải lo lắng,vừa ngã lưng, con đã ngon giấc.

25Khi thấy người ác gặp tai họa hay hủy diệt bất ngờ,con không hoang mang lo sợ,

26vì Chúa Hằng Hữu là Đấng con tin cậy.Ngài sẽ giữ chân con khỏi cạm bẫy.

27Đừng từ chối làm lành cho người xứng đángkhi con có năng lực làm việc ấy.

28Nếu hiện tại con có thể giúp người láng giềng, thì đừng nói:“Ngày mai hãy trở lại, tôi sẽ giúp anh.”

29Đừng mưu đồ ám hại láng giềng,vì họ vẫn có lòng tin cậy nơi con.

30Đừng vô cớ cáo tội ai,khi người ấy không gây cho con thiệt hại.

31Đừng thèm muốn địa vị người dữ dằn,cũng đừng bước theo con đường họ đi.

32Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu ghét người hư hoại,nhưng thổ lộ tâm tình với ai ngay lành.

33Chúa Hằng Hữu nguyền rủa nhà của người ác,nhưng đổ phước lành trên nhà người công chính.

34Chúa Hằng Hữu cười chê người kiêu căng báng bổ,nhưng ban ơn phước trên người khiêm nhu.

35Vinh dự là gia tài Chúa dành cho người khôn,còn xấu hổ nhuốc nhơ là phần của người dại dột.

1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5¶ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7¶ Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11¶ My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

12For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

13¶ Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

14For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

15She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

16Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

19The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

20By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

21¶ My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

22So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

23Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

24When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

25Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

26For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27¶ Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

28Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

29Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

30¶ Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

31¶ Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

32For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

33¶ The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

34Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

35The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
