1Người nữ khôn ngoan xây dựng cửa nhà,đàn bà khờ dại vung tay hủy phá.

2Ai đi đường ngay thẳng kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu,ai theo nẻo cong quẹo ghét bỏ Ngài.

3Miệng người ngu là con roi quất vào lưng nó,nhưng người khôn dùng môi bảo vệ mình.

4Chuồng không bò, máng cỏ vắng tanh,có bò cày ruộng mới sinh hoa lợi.

5Nhân chứng đáng tin không hề dối trá;nhân chứng gian tà nói chuyện điêu ngoa.

6Người nhạo báng kiếm khôn ngoan mà chẳng gặp,người sáng suốt tiếp nhận tri thức cách dễ dàng.

7Nếu muốn được nghe dạy bảo,hãy lánh xa người dại khờ.

8Cái khôn của người thận trọng là tính toan đường lối,cái dại của người ngây ngô là tự dối lòng mình.

9Người điên dại nhạo cười tội lỗi,nhưng người ngay được Chúa ban ơn.

10Chỉ lòng mới thấu rõ nỗi cay đắng con tim,niềm vui tận thâm tâm, ai người chia sẻ được.

11Nhà người ác sẽ bị tiêu diệt,lều người ngay sẽ được dựng cao.

12Con đường bạn chọn có vẻ phải,nhưng cuối nẻo đường là hố diệt vong.

13Miệng cười lòng vẫn tái tê,nụ cười tắt ngấm, lòng sầu mênh mang.

14Lòng vô tín lãnh hậu quả đau thương;tâm trong sạch nhận phần thưởng xứng đáng.

15Người ngây ngô tin hết mọi điều!Người thận trọng dè dặt từng đường đi nước bước.

16Người khôn kính Chúa, lánh tội;người dại mù quáng làm liều.

17Người nóng tính hành động điên rồ,người mưu đồ việc ác chẳng được ai ưa.

18Người ngây ngô khoác áo dại khờ,người thận trọng đội vòng hoa tri thức.

19Người ác phải quỵ lụy trước người lành;người dữ phải chầu chực trước nhà người công chính.

20Vì nghèo mà hàng xóm cũng lánh xa,nhờ giàu nên nhiều bạn bè tìm đến.

21Ai khinh bỉ người láng giềng là mắc tội;ai thương xót người khốn khổ được nhiều phước.

22Người mưu gian đi con đường lầm lạc;người hướng thiện hưởng tình thương và trung tín.

23Siêng năng làm việc đem lại nhiều lợi lộc,chỉ nói suông dẫn đến cảnh nghèo hèn!

24Người khôn được ca tụng vì khôn ngoan;người dại bị khinh bỉ bởi điên cuồng.

25Nhân chứng chân thật cứu người thoát chết,nhân chứng giả dối âm mưu lừa gạt.

26Người kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu tìm được thành lũy;Ngài là nơi ẩn trú an toàn cho con cái Ngài.

27Kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu là nguồn sự sống;giải cứu con người thoát bẫy tử vong.

28Dân số càng đông là vinh quang của vua;dân số giảm dần, quan chức cũng suy vong.

29Người kiên nhẫn tỏ mình thông sáng;người mau giận lộ bản chất dại dột.

30Tâm thanh thản đem sinh lực vào thể xác;lòng ghen tuôn làm xương mục cốt tàn.

31Ai ức hiếp người nghèo là nguyền rủa Đấng Tạo Hóa,ai nâng đỡ người cùng túng là tôn vinh Ngài.

32Tai họa đến, người ác bị sụp đổ vì hành vi gian trá,dù khi hấp hối, người công chính vẫn còn chỗ cậy trông.

33Khôn ngoan nằm sẵn trong lòng người sáng suốt;điều người điên dại giấu rồi cũng lộ ra.

34Đức công chính làm cho quốc gia được tán tụng,nhưng tội lỗi đem lại sỉ nhục cho toàn dân.

35Nhà vua dành ân huệ cho quần thần thông sáng,nhưng trút thịnh nộ trên bầy tôi ương ngạnh.

1A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish will pull down with her hands that also which is built.

2He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, Cis despised by him that goeth by an infamous way.

3In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them.

4Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.

5A faithful witness will not lie: but a deceitful witness uttereth a lie.

6A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: the learning of the wise is easy.

7Go against a foolish man, and he knoweth not the lips of prudence.

8The wisdom of a. discreet man is to understand his way: and the imprudence of fools erreth.

9A fool will laugh at sin, but among the just grace shall abide.

10The heart that knoweth the bitterness of his own soul, in his joy the stranger shall not intermeddle.

11The house of the wicked shall be destroyed: but the tabernacles of the just shall flourish.

12There is a way which seemeth just to a man: but the ends thereof lead to death.

13Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning taketh hold of the end of joy.

14A fool shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be above him.

15The innocent believeth every word: the discreet man considereth his steps. No good shall come to the deceitful son: but the wise servant shall prosper in his dealings, and his way shall be made straight.

16A wise man feareth and declineth from evil: the fool leapeth over and is confident.

17The impatient man shall work folly: and the crafty man is hateful.

18The childish shall possess folly, and the prudent, shall look for knowledge.

19The evil shall fall down before the good: and the wicked before the gates of the just.

20The poor man shall be hateful even to his own neighbour: but the friends of the rich are many.

21He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth: but he that sheweth mercy to the poor, shall be blessed. He that believeth in the Lord, loveth mercy.

22They err that work evil: but mercy and truth prepare good things.

23In much work there shall be abundance: but where there are many words, there is oftentimes want.

24The crown of the wise is their riches: the folly of fools, imprudence.

25A faithful witness delivereth souls: and the double dealer uttereth lies.

26In the fear of the Lord is confidence of strength, and there shall be hope for his children.

27The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to decline from the ruin of death.

28In the multitude of people is the dignity of the king: and in the small number of people the dishonour of the prince.

29He that is patient, is governed with much wisdom: but he that is impatient, exalteth his folly.

30Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

31He that oppresseth the poor, upbraideth his Maker: but he that hath pity on the poor, honoureth him.

32The wicked man shall be driven out in his wickedness: but the just hath hope in his death.

33In the heart of the prudent resteth wisdom, and it shall instruct all the ignorant.

34Justice exalteth a nation: but sin maketh nations miserable.

35A wise servant is acceptable to the king: he that is good for nothing shall feel his anger.
