Chúa Giê-xu Dạy về Sự Trong Sạch Bên Trong

1Một hôm, các thầy Pha-ri-si và thầy dạy luật từ Giê-ru-sa-lem đến gặp Chúa Giê-xu.

2Họ thấy các môn đệ của Chúa không rửa tay trước khi ăn.

3(Theo tục lệ cổ truyền, người Do Thái, đặc biệt là người Pha-ri-si, đều rảy nước trên cánh tay trước khi ăn.

4Mỗi khi đi phố về, họ đều tẩy uế như thế, rồi mới ngồi vào bàn ăn. Họ còn làm nhiều điều khác theo tục lệ, như làm phép tẩy uế nồi niêu, bát đĩa …)

5Các thầy Pha-ri-si và thầy dạy luật chất vấn Chúa: “Tại sao môn đệ Thầy không rửa tay trước khi ăn theo tục lệ cổ truyền?”

6Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Các ông đạo đức giả! Tiên tri Y-sai đã miêu tả các ông thật đúng:‘Miệng dân này nói lời tôn kính Ta,nhưng lòng họ cách xa Ta.

7Việc họ thờ phượng Ta thật vô ích,thay vì vâng giữ mệnh lệnh Ta, họ đem dạy luật lệ do họ đặt ra!’

8Các ông vâng giữ tục lệ của loài người, mà bỏ qua mệnh lệnh của Đức Chúa Trời.”

9Chúa tiếp: “Các ông khéo léo chối bỏ luật Đức Chúa Trời để giữ tục lệ của các ông.

10Chẳng hạn khi Môi-se dạy: ‘Phải hiếu kính cha mẹ,’và ‘Ai nguyền rủa cha mẹ phải bị xử tử.’

11Nhưng các ông cho là đúng khi con cái nói với cha mẹ rằng những gì con có thể giúp cha mẹ là Co-ban (nghĩa là lễ vật đã dâng lên Đức Chúa Trời),

12rồi các ngươi không cho phép người ấy làm gì cho cha mẹ mình nữa.

13Như vậy, vì truyền thống của mình mà các ông đã hủy bỏ lời của Đức Chúa Trời. Các ông còn làm nhiều điều khác cũng sai quấy như thế!”

14Sau đó Chúa Giê-xu gọi đoàn dân đến, Ngài phán: “Anh chị em lắng nghe và cố hiểu lời này:

15Người ta bị dơ bẩn không phải vì những vật từ bên ngoài vào, nhưng vì những điều ra từ trong lòng.”

17Khi Chúa Giê-xu rời đám đông vào nhà, các môn đệ thắc mắc, hỏi Ngài về câu ẩn dụ ấy.

18Chúa đáp: “Các con cũng không hiểu nữa sao? Các con không biết thức ăn không làm cho con người ô uế sao?

19Vì nó không vào trong lòng, chỉ đi qua cơ quan tiêu hóa rồi ra khỏi thân thể.” (Lời Chúa dạy cho thấy các thực phẩm đều không ô uế).

20Chúa dạy tiếp: “Những điều ra từ trong lòng mới làm cho con người dơ bẩn.

21Vì từ bên trong, từ tâm hồn con người, sinh ra những tư tưởng ác, như gian dâm, trộm cắp, giết người, ngoại tình,

22tham lam, độc ác, lừa dối, phóng đãng, ganh ghét, phỉ báng, kiêu căng, và dại dột.

23Chính những thứ xấu xa từ bên trong mới làm con người dơ bẩn.”

24Sau đó, Chúa Giê-xu rời xứ Ga-li-lê, đến miền Ty-rơ và Si-đôn. Khi vào nhà, Ngài không muốn cho ai biết, nhưng không sao giấu được.

25Một người phụ nữ có con gái bị quỷ ám, nghe Chúa đến, lập tức ra quỳ trước mặt Ngài,

26van xin Ngài đuổi quỷ cho con gái mình. Bà là người Hy Lạp gốc Sy-rô Phê-ni-xi,

27Chúa Giê-xu phán với bà: “Ta phải cứu giúp người Ít-ra-ên trước! Đâu có thể lấy bánh của con đem ném cho chó!”

28Bà thưa: “Vâng, đúng thế thưa Chúa! Nhưng chó chỉ ăn bánh vụn của con cái từ trên bàn rơi xuống!”

29Chúa đáp: “Bà đã nói thế, cứ về nhà đi! Quỷ đã ra khỏi con gái bà rồi!”

30Về đến nhà, bà thấy con gái mình nằm trên giường tỉnh táo, không bị quỷ ám nữa.

Chúa Giê-xu Chữa Lành Người Điếc

31Từ Ty-rơ, Chúa Giê-xu qua Si-đôn, xuống vùng Mười Thànhvà đến biển Ga-li-lê.

32Người ta đem đến một người điếc và ngọng, nài xin Chúa Giê-xu đặt tay chữa lành.

33Chúa Giê-xu dắt anh ra khỏi đám đông, đặt ngón tay vào lỗ tai và lấy nước bọt thấm vào lưỡi anh,

34rồi ngước mắt lên trời, thở mạnh và bảo: “Mở ra!”

35Lập tức, anh ấy nghe hoàn hảo, lưỡi anh được thong thả nên anh nói năng rõ ràng.

36Chúa Giê-xu bảo mọi người đừng thuật chuyện đó với ai, nhưng càng ngăn cấm, người ta càng phổ biến rộng hơn.

37Ai nấy đều ngạc nhiên vô cùng, bảo nhau: “Ngài làm gì cũng tuyệt diệu! Đến cả người điếc nghe được, người câm nói được.”

1And gathered together unto him are the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, having come from Jerusalem,

2and having seen certain of his disciples with defiled hands — that is, unwashed — eating bread, they found fault;

3for the Pharisees, and all the Jews, if they do not wash the hands to the wrist, do not eat, holding the tradition of the elders,

4and, [coming] from the market-place, if they do not baptize themselves, they do not eat; and many other things there are that they received to hold, baptisms of cups, and pots, and brazen vessels, and couches.

5Then question him do the Pharisees and the scribes, 'Wherefore do thy disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands do eat the bread?'

6and he answering said to them — 'Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, hypocrites, as it hath been written, This people with the lips doth honour Me, and their heart is far from Me;

7and in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings, commands of men;

8for, having put away the command of God, ye hold the tradition of men, baptisms of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye do.'

9And he said to them, 'Well do ye put away the command of God that your tradition ye may keep;

10for Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother — let him die the death;

11and ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), [is] whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,

12and no more do ye suffer him to do anything for his father or for his mother,

13setting aside the word of God for your tradition that ye delivered; and many such like things ye do.'

14And having called near all the multitude, he said to them, 'Hearken to me, ye all, and understand;

15there is nothing from without the man entering into him that is able to defile him, but the things coming out from him, those are the things defiling the man.

16If any hath ears to hear — let him hear.'

17And when he entered into a house from the multitude, his disciples were questioning him about the simile,

18and he saith to them, 'So also ye are without understanding! Do ye not perceive that nothing from without entering into the man is able to defile him?

19because it doth not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and into the drain it doth go out, purifying all the meats.'

20And he said — 'That which is coming out from the man, that doth defile the man;

21for from within, out of the heart of men, the evil reasonings do come forth, adulteries, whoredoms, murders,

22thefts, covetous desires, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness;

23all these evils do come forth from within, and they defile the man.'

24And from thence having risen, he went away to the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and having entered into the house, he wished none to know, and he was not able to be hid,

25for a woman having heard about him, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having come, fell at his feet, —

26and the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phenician by nation — and was asking him, that the demon he may cast forth out of her daughter.

27And Jesus said to her, 'Suffer first the children to be filled, for it is not good to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] to the little dogs.'

28And she answered and saith to him, 'Yes, sir; for the little dogs also under the table do eat of the children's crumbs.'

29And he said to her, 'Because of this word go; the demon hath gone forth out of thy daughter;'

30and having come away to her house, she found the demon gone forth, and the daughter laid upon the couch.

31And again, having gone forth from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis,

32and they bring to him a deaf, stuttering man, and they call on him that he may put the hand on him.

33And having taken him away from the multitude by himself, he put his fingers to his ears, and having spit, he touched his tongue,

34and having looked to the heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, 'Ephphatha,' that is, 'Be thou opened;'

35and immediately were his ears opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking plain.

36And he charged them that they may tell no one, but the more he was charging them, the more abundantly they were proclaiming [it],

37and they were being beyond measure astonished, saying, 'Well hath he done all things; both the deaf he doth make to hear, and the dumb to speak.'
