Ezekiel

1Còn ngươi, hỡi con người, hãy lấy một viên gạch rồi đặt trước mặt ngươi và khắc lên đó một thành, thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.

2Ngươi sẽ vẽ cuộc vây hãm thành ấy. Ngươi sẽ xây chiến luỹ, đắp ụ, đóng trại và đặt chiến cụ chung quanh để tấn công thành.

3Sau đó, hãy lấy một cái chảo sắt và đặt làm tường sắt ngăn cách ngươi và thành. Rồi ngươi hướng mặt về phía thành : thành sẽ bị bao vây và ngươi sẽ vây hãm thành. Đó là dấu hiệu cho nhà Ít-ra-en.

4Phần ngươi, hãy nằm nghiêng bên trái và mang lấy tội lỗi nhà Ít-ra-en. Ngươi nằm như vậy bao nhiêu ngày thì ngươi cũng gánh tội chúng bấy nhiêu ngày.

5Còn Ta, Ta sẽ tính cho ngươi số năm tội lỗi của chúng theo số ngày : ba trăm chín mươi ngày ngươi phải gánh tội nhà Ít-ra-en.

6Sau khi giữ đủ số ngày ấy, ngươi lại nằm nghiêng bên phải mà gánh lấy tội lỗi nhà Giu-đa trong bốn mươi ngày. Ta tính cho ngươi mỗi ngày là một năm.

7Rồi ngươi hướng mặt và đưa cánh tay trần về phía Giê-ru-sa-lem đang bị vây hãm mà tuyên sấm để lên án nó.

8Này Ta sẽ lấy dây thừng trói ngươi lại, khiến ngươi không trở mình bên này bên kia được, cho đến khi ngươi giữ đủ số ngày ngươi nằm bất động.

9Phần ngươi, ngươi hãy lấy lúa mì, lúa mạch, đậu tằm, đậu nâu, kê và lúa miến, rồi bỏ tất cả vào một cái vò mà làm bánh. Ngươi nằm nghiêng một bên bao nhiêu ngày –ba trăm chín mươi ngày–, thì trong bấy nhiêu ngày ngươi sẽ ăn bánh ấy.

10Lương thực ngươi dùng phải cân theo số lượng –mỗi ngày hai lạng–, ngươi sẽ ăn như thế trong một thời gian.

11Nước ngươi uống cũng phải đúng số lượng –mỗi ngày một lít–, ngươi sẽ uống như thế trong một thời gian.

12Ngươi sẽ ăn bánh giống như bánh tráng lúa mạch, nướng trên phân người trước mắt chúng.

13ĐỨC CHÚA phán : Con cái Ít-ra-en sẽ ăn bánh ô uế giống như vậy, giữa đám chư dân Ta sẽ xua chúng đến.”

14Tôi thưa : “Ôi lạy ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng, này con chưa hề bị ô uế. Từ bé đến giờ, con chưa ăn vật chết hay bị xé xác, cũng chưa có miếng thịt ôi nào lọt vào miệng con.”

15Và Người phán với tôi : “Này Ta cho phép ngươi lấy phân bò thay phân người và ngươi sẽ nướng bánh trên phân đó.”

16Người lại phán với tôi : “Hỡi con người, này Ta sắp làm cạn nguồn lương thực ở Giê-ru-sa-lem, chúng sẽ phải ăn bánh trong lo âu theo mức định sẵn ; chúng sẽ phải uống nước trong sợ hãi theo số hạn chế

17khiến chúng vì thiếu bánh, thiếu nước mà đâm ra kinh hoàng, rồi chết dần chết mòn vì tội lỗi của chúng.”

1And thou, O son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee: and draw upon it the plan of the city of Jerusalem.

2And lay siege against it, and build forts, and cast up a mount, and set a camp against it, and place battering rams round about it.

3And take unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face resolutely against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it: it is a sign to the house of Israel.

4And thou shalt sleep upon thy left side, and shalt lay the iniquities of the house of Israel upon it, according to the number of the days that thou shalt sleep upon it, and thou shalt take upon thee their iniquity.

5And I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days three hundred and ninety days: and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

6And when thou hast accomplished this, thou shalt sleep again upon thy right side, and thou shalt take upon thee the iniquity of the house of Juda forty days: a day for it year, yea, a day for a year I have appointed to thee.

7And thou shalt turn thy face to the siege of Jerusalem, and thy arm shall be stretched out: and thou shalt prophesy against it.

8Behold I have encompassed thee with bands: and thou shalt not turn thyself from one side to the other, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.

9And take to thee wheat and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side: three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

10And thy meat that thou shalt eat, shall be in weight twenty staters a day: from time to time thou shalt eat it.

11And thou shalt drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: from time to time thou shalt drink it,

12And thou shalt eat it as barley bread baked under the ashes: and thou shalt cover it, in their sight, with the dung that cometh out of a man.

13And the Lord said: So shall the children of Israel Beat their bread all filthy among the nations whither I will cast them out.

14And I said: Ah, ah, ah, O Lord God, behold my soul hath not been defiled, and from my infancy even till now, I have not eaten any thing that died of itself, or was torn by beasts, and no unclean flesh hath entered into my mouth.

15And he said to me: Behold I have given thee neat’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt make thy bread therewith.

16And he said to me: Son of man: Behold, I will break in pieces the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care: and they shall drink water by measure, and in distress.

17So that when bread and water fail, every man may fall against his brother, and they may pine away in their iniquities.
