1Các con ông Rưu-vên, người con đầu lòng của ông Ít-ra-en. Chính ông, người con đầu lòng đó, nhưng vì ông đã làm nhơ bẩn giường của cha ông, nên quyền trưởng nam của ông được trao cho các con ông Giu-se, con ông Ít-ra-en ; ông không được thừa hưởng quyền trưởng nam nữa.
2Tuy ông Giu-đa trổi hơn anh em mình, vì một vị thủ lãnh đã xuất thân từ nơi ông, nhưng quyền trưởng nam lại thuộc về ông Giu-se.
3Các con ông Rưu-vên, người con đầu lòng của ông Ít-ra-en, là : Kha-nốc, Pa-lu, Khét-rôn, Các-mi.
4Các con ông Giô-en là : Sơ-ma-gia con ông, Gốc con ông, Sim-y con ông,
5Mi-kha con ông, Rơ-a-gia con ông, Ba-an con ông,
6Bê-ơ-ra con ông, người đã bị vua Tích-lát Pi-le-xe bắt đi đày. Chính ông là thủ lãnh các người họ Rưu-vên.
7Các anh em của ông, tính theo thị tộc và được đăng bộ theo gia phả : đứng đầu là Giơ-y-ên, rồi Dơ-khác-gia-hu,
8Chi tộc Rưu-vên cư ngụ tại A-rô-e, cho đến tận Nơ-vô và Ba-an Mơ-ôn.
9Về phía đông họ lập cư cho tới ven sa mạc tiếp cận sông Êu-phơ-rát, vì họ có nhiều súc vật trong xứ Ga-la-át.

16Họ cư ngụ tại Ga-la-át, tại Ba-san và các nơi phụ cận, cũng như tại tất cả các đồng cỏ Sa-rôn cho tới ranh giới cuối cùng của các đồng cỏ ấy.
17Tất cả những người ấy đã đăng bộ thời vua Giô-tham cai trị Giu-đa và vua Gia-róp-am cai trị Ít-ra-en.
18Con cái chi tộc Rưu-vên và chi tộc Gát, một nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se, một số các dũng sĩ, những người biết dùng thuẫn và gươm, biết giương cung và thạo việc binh đao : tất cả là bốn mươi bốn ngàn bảy trăm sáu mươi người rành nghề chinh chiến.
19Họ đánh nhau với dân Ha-ga tại Giơ-tua, Na-phít và Nô-đáp.
20Họ được Thiên Chúa trợ giúp chống lại chúng ; quân Ha-ga và tất cả đồng minh của chúng đã bị trao vào tay họ, vì họ đã kêu lên cùng Thiên Chúa khi giao chiến ; Người đã nghe lời họ, vì họ tin tưởng nơi Người.
21Họ chiếm đoạt các đoàn vật của chúng : năm mươi ngàn lạc đà, hai trăm năm mươi ngàn chiên cừu, hai ngàn con lừa và giết một trăm ngàn nhân mạng.
22Sở dĩ có nhiều người bị gươm đâm ngã gục, là vì trận chiến do Thiên Chúa. Họ chiếm chỗ dân ấy và lập cư cho đến thời lưu đày.
23Họ thật đông.
24Đây là những người đứng đầu các gia tộc tổ tiên họ : Ê-phe, Gít-i, Ê-li-ên, Át-ri-ên, Giếc-mơ-gia, Hô-đáp-gia, Giác-đi-ên. Họ là những anh hùng dũng sĩ, những người nổi danh, những người đứng đầu các gia tộc tổ tiên họ.
25Nhưng họ lại thất trung với Thiên Chúa của tổ tiên họ, và đàng điếm theo các thần của dân địa phương mà Thiên Chúa đã tiêu diệt trước mặt họ.
26Thiên Chúa Ít-ra-en kích động tinh thần vua Pun xứ Át-sua, và tinh thần vua Tích-lát Pi-le-xe xứ Át-sua, người đã đày con cái chi tộc Rưu-vên, chi tộc Gát cùng một nửa chi tộc Mơ-na-se, và đưa họ tới Khơ-lác, Kha-vo, Kha-ra và sông Gô-dan cho đến ngày nay.
27Các con ông Lê-vi là Ghéc-sôn, Cơ-hát, Mơ-ra-ri.
28Các con ông Cơ-hát là : Am-ram, Gít-ha, Khép-rôn, Út-di-ên.
29Các con ông Am-ram là : A-ha-ron, Mô-sê, Mi-ri-am. Các con ông A-ha-ron là : Na-đáp, A-vi-hu, E-la-da, I-tha-ma.
30E-la-da sinh Pin-khát ; Pin-khát sinh A-vi-su-a.
31A-vi-su-a sinh Búc-ki ; Búc-ki sinh Út-di.
32Út-di sinh Dơ-rác-gia ; Dơ-rác-gia sinh Mơ-ra-giốt.
33Mơ-ra-giốt sinh A-mác-gia ; A-mác-gia sinh A-khi-túp.
34A-khi-túp sinh Xa-đốc ; Xa-đốc sinh A-khi-ma-át.

3The sons then of Ruben the firstborn of Israel were Enoch, and Phallu, Esron, and Charmi.
4The sons of Joel: Samaia his son, Gog his son, Semei his son,
5Micha his son, Reia his son, Baal his son,
6Beera his son, whom Thelgathphalnasar king of the Assyrians carried away captive, and he was prince in the tribe of Ruben.
7And his brethren, and all his kindred, when they were numbered by their families, had for princes Jehiel, and Zacharias.
8And Bala the son of Azaz, the son of Samma, the son of Joel, dwelt in Aroer as far as Nebo, and Beelmeon.
9And eastward he had his habitation as far as the entrance of the desert, and the river Euphrates. For they possessed a great number of cattle in the land of Galaad.
10And in the days of Saul they fought against the Agarites, and slew them, and dwelt in their tents in their stead, in all the country, that looketh to the east of Galaad.
11And the children of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Basan, as far as Selcha:
12Johel the chief, and Saphan the second: and Janai, and Saphat in Basan.
13And their brethren according to the houses of their kindreds, were Michael, and Mosollam, and Sebe, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zie, and Heber, seven.
14These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Hurl, the son of Jara, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesisi, the son of Jeddo, the son of But.
15And their brethren the sons of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house in their families,
16And they dwelt in Galaad, and in Basan and in the towns thereof, and in all the suburbs of Saron, unto the borders.
17All these were numbered in the days of Joathan king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18The sons of Ruben, and of Gad, and of the half tribe of Manasses, fighting men, bearing shields, and swords, and bending the bow, and trained up to battles, four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore that went out to war.
19They fought against the Agarites: but the Itureans, and Naphis, and Nodab,
20Gave them help. And the Agarites were delivered into their hands, and all that were with them, because they called upon God in the battle: and he heard them, because they had put their faith in him.
21And they took all that they possessed, of camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand souls.
22And many fell down slain: for it was the battle of the Lord. And they dwelt in their stead till the captivity.
23And the children of the half tribe of Manasses possessed the land, from the borders of Basan unto Baal, Hermon, and Sanir, and mount Hermon, for their number was great.
24And these were the heads of the house of their kindred, Epher, and Jesi, and Eliel, and Esriel, and Jeremia, and Odoia, and Jediel, most valiant and powerful men, and famous chiefs in their families.
25But they forsook the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phul king of the Assyrians, and the spirit of Thelgathphalnasar king of Assur: and he carried away Ruben, and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses, and brought them to Lahela, and to Habor, and to Ara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
