Revelation

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

1Bấy giờ tôi thấy trời mới đất mới, vì trời cũ đất cũ đã biến mất, và biển cũng không còn nữa.

2Và tôi thấy Thành Thánh là Giê-ru-sa-lem mới, từ trời, từ nơi Thiên Chúa mà xuống, sẵn sàng như tân nương trang điểm để đón tân lang.

3Rồi tôi nghe từ phía ngai có tiếng hô to : “Đây là nhà tạm Thiên Chúa ở cùng nhân loại, Người sẽ cư ngụ cùng với họ. Họ sẽ là dân của Người, còn chính *Người sẽ là Thiên-Chúa-ở-cùng-họ*.

4Thiên Chúa sẽ lau sạch nước mắt họ. Sẽ không còn sự chết ; cũng chẳng còn tang tóc, kêu than và đau khổ nữa, vì những điều cũ đã biến mất.”

5Đấng ngự trên ngai phán : “Này đây Ta đổi mới mọi sự.” Rồi Người phán : “Ngươi hãy viết : Đây là những lời đáng tin cậy và chân thật.”

6Người lại phán với tôi : “Xong cả rồi ! Ta là An-pha và Ô-mê-ga, là Khởi Nguyên và Tận Cùng. Chính Ta sẽ ban cho ai khát được uống nơi nguồn nước trường sinh, mà không phải trả tiền.

7Ai thắng sẽ được thừa hưởng hồng ân đó. Ta sẽ là Thiên Chúa của người ấy, và người ấy sẽ là con của Ta.

8Còn những kẻ hèn nhát, bất trung, đáng ghê tởm, sát nhân, gian dâm, làm phù phép, thờ ngẫu tượng, và mọi kẻ nói dối, thì phần dành cho chúng là hồ lửa và diêm sinh cháy ngùn ngụt : đó là cái chết thứ hai.”

9Bấy giờ, trong số bảy thiên thần mang bảy chén đầy bảy tai ương cuối cùng, một vị đến bảo tôi : “Lại đây, tôi sẽ chỉ cho ông thấy Tân Nương, Hiền Thê của Con Chiên.”

10Rồi đang khi tôi xuất thần, thì người đem tôi lên một ngọn núi cao hùng vĩ, và chỉ cho tôi thấy Thành Thánh, là Giê-ru-sa-lem, từ trời, từ nơi Thiên Chúa mà xuống,

11chói lọi vinh quang Thiên Chúa. Thành rực sáng tựa đá quý tuyệt vời, như ngọc thạch trong suốt tựa pha lê.

12Thành có tường rộng và cao, với mười hai cửa do mười hai thiên thần canh giữ, và trên các cửa có ghi tên mười hai chi tộc con cái Ít-ra-en.

13Phía đông có ba cửa, phía bắc ba cửa, phía nam ba cửa và phía tây ba cửa.

14Tường thành xây trên mười hai nền móng, trên đó có tên mười hai Tông Đồ của Con Chiên.

15Thiên thần đang nói với tôi cầm cái thước đo là một cây sậy bằng vàng, để đo thành, các cửa và tường thành.

16Thành hình vuông : chiều dài cũng bằng chiều rộng. Rồi người lấy cây sậy đo thành, được mười hai ngàn dặm : chiều dài, chiều rộng và chiều cao đều bằng nhau.

17Người đo tường thành được một trăm bốn mươi bốn thước, theo thước đo của loài người cũng là của vị thiên thần.

18Tường xây bằng ngọc thạch, thành thì bằng vàng y, giống như thuỷ tinh trong sáng.

19Nền móng tường thành được trang trí bằng mọi thứ đá quý. Nền móng thứ nhất bằng ngọc thạch, nền móng thứ hai bằng lam ngọc, nền móng thứ ba bằng lục ngọc, nền móng thứ tư bằng bích ngọc,

20nền móng thứ năm bằng mã não, nền móng thứ sáu bằng xích não, nền móng thứ bảy bằng kim châu, nền móng thứ tám bằng lục châu, nền móng thứ chín bằng hoàng ngọc, nền móng thứ mười bằng kim lục, nền móng thứ mười một bằng huỳnh ngọc, nền móng thứ mười hai bằng tử ngọc.

21Mười hai cửa là mười hai khối ngọc trai ; mỗi cửa là một khối ngọc duy nhất. “Quảng trường của thành bằng vàng y như thuỷ tinh trong suốt.”

22Trong thành, tôi không thấy có Đền Thờ, vì Đức Chúa, Thiên Chúa Toàn Năng, và Con Chiên là Đền Thờ của thành.

23Thành chẳng cần mặt trời mặt trăng chiếu sáng, vì đã có vinh quang Thiên Chúa toả rạng, và Con Chiên là ngọn đèn chiếu soi.

24Các dân ngoại sẽ tiến bước theo ánh sáng của thành, và vua chúa trần gian đem kho tàng vinh quang tới đó.

25Ngày nọ qua ngày kia, cửa thành không bao giờ đóng, vì ở đấy sẽ chẳng có đêm.

26Thiên hạ sẽ đem tới đó kho tàng vinh quang và sự giàu sang của các dân ngoại.

27Tất cả những gì ô uế cũng như bất cứ ai làm điều ghê tởm và ăn gian nói dối, đều không được vào thành, mà chỉ có những người có tên ghi trong Sổ Trường Sinh của Con Chiên mới được vào.
