Hebrews

1Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

4God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

5For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

6But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

7Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

8Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

12Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

13And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Sự Cứu Rỗi Vĩ Đại

1Vậy, chúng ta phải giữ vững những chân lý đã nghe để khỏi bị lôi cuốn, trôi giạt.

2Nếu những lời thiên sứ rao truyền đã là những mệnh lệnh bắt buộc, mọi người vi phạm, bất tuân đều bị trừng phạt đích đáng thì

3chúng ta làm sao thoát khỏi hình phạt, một khi khước từ ơn cứu rỗi lớn lao này? Chính Chúa đã công bố sứ điệp cứu rỗi này trước hết, rồi các môn đệ Ngài truyền lại cho chúng ta.

4Đức Chúa Trời cũng đã xác nhận sứ điệp bằng những dấu lạ, phép lạ và việc quyền năng, cùng ban các ân tứ Thánh Linh cho mỗi người tùy theo ý muốn Ngài.

Chúa Giê-xu, Con Người

5Đức Chúa Trời không đem thế giới tương lai đặt dưới quyền các thiên sứ.

6Như có trong Kinh Thánh chép:“Loài người là gì mà Chúa nhớ đến,con loài người là ai mà Chúa săn sóc?

7Chúa tạo người chỉ kém thiên sứ một chút,đội lên đầu danh dự và vinh quang.

8Bắt vạn vật phục dưới chân người.”Khi bảo vạn vật phục con người, Đức Chúa Trời chẳng miễn trừ một vật nào. Hiện nay ta chưa thấy vạn vật phục con người.

9Tuy nhiên, đem lời ấy áp dụng cho Chúa Giê-xu thật đúng: Ngài đã chịu xuống thấp hơn các thiên sứ một bực, nhưng Ngài đã hy sinh, nên được đội vương miện vinh quang và danh dự. Do ơn phước của Đức Chúa Trời, Chúa Giê-xu đã chịu chết để cứu rỗi mọi người.

10Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng sáng tạo và bảo tồn vạn vật đã khiến Chúa Giê-xu chịu khổ nạn để hoàn thành sự cứu rỗi. Điều đó thật hợp lý, vì nhờ đó Ngài dìu dắt nhiều người vào cuộc sống vinh quang.

11Đấng thánh hóa loài người, và những người được thánh hóa đều là con một Cha. Nên Chúa Giê-xu không ngại mà gọi họ là anh chị em.

12Ngài phán:“Con sẽ truyền Danh Chúa cho anh chị em con;giữa hội chúng dâng lời ca ngợi Chúa.”

13Ngài còn phán:“Con sẽ tin cậy Ngài,”và: “Này, Ta đây, cùng với các con cái Đức Chúa Trời đã ban cho Ta.”

14Vì con cái Đức Chúa Trời là người bằng xương thịt và máu, nên Chúa Giê-xu cũng đã nhập thể làm người. Ngài chịu chết để chiến thắng ma quỷ, vua sự chết.

15Ngài cũng giải cứu những người vì sợ chết, buộc lòng làm nô lệ suốt đời.

16Hiển nhiên Chúa Giê-xu không trở thành thiên sứ, nhưng Ngài đã thành người, làm hậu tự Áp-ra-ham.

17Chúa trở nên giống như ta, là anh chị em Ngài, về mọi phương diện, để làm Thầy Thượng Tế thương xót, trung thành trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời, chuộc tội cho mọi người.

18Vì Chúa từng chịu thống khổ khi đương đầu với các cơn cám dỗ, nên Ngài có thể giải cứu những người đang bị màng lưới cám dỗ vây quanh.
