5The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, Thubal, Mosoch, Thiras.

6And the sons of Gomer: Ascenez, and Riphath, and Thogorma.

7And the sons of Javan: Elisa and Tharsis, Cethim and Dodanim.

8The sons of Cham: Chus, and Mesrai, and Phut, and Chaanan.

9And the sons of Chus: Saba, and Hevila, Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabathaca. And the sons of Regma: Saba, and Dadan.

10Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty upon earth.

11But Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, and Nephtuim,

12Phetrusim also, and Casluim: from whom came the Philistines, and Caphtorim.

13And Chanaan beget Sidon his firstborn, and the Hethite,

14And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,

15And the Hevite, and the Aracite, and the Sinite,

16And the Aradian, and the Samarite, and the Hamathite.

17The sons of Sem: Elam and Asur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Hus, and Hul, and Gether, and Mosoch.

18And Arphaxad beget Sale, and Sale beget Heber.

19And to Heber were born two sons, the name of the one was Phaleg, because In his days the earth was divided; and the name of his brother was Jectan.

20And Jectan beget Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, and Jare,

21And Adoram, and Usal, and Decla,

22And Hebal, and Abimael, and Saba,

23And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these are the sons of Jectan.

24Sem, Arphaxad, Sale,

25Heber, Phaleg, Ragau,

26Serug, Nachor, Thare,

27Abram, this is Abraham.

28And the sons of Abraham, Isaac and Ismahel.

29And these are the generations of them. The firstborn of Ismahel, Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam,

31Jetur, Naphis, Cedma: these are the sons of Ismahel.

41The sons of Dison: Hamram, and Eseban, and Jethran, and Charan.

49And when Saul was dead, Balanan the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.

50He also died, and Adad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Phau, and his wife was called Meetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezaab.

51And after the death of Adad, there began to be dukes in Edom instead of kings: duke Thamna, duke Alva, duke Jetheth,

52Duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phinon,

53Duke Cenez, duke Theman, duke Mabsar,

54Duke Magdiel, duke Hiram. These are the dukes of Edom.

4Ông Nô-ê, ông Sêm, ông Kham, ông Gia-phét.

5Các con của ông Gia-phét là Gô-me, Ma-gốc, Mê-đi, Gia-van, Tu-van, Me-séc, Ti-rát.

6Các con của ông Gô-me là Át-cơ-nát, Ri-phát, Tô-gác-ma.

7Các con của ông Gia-van là Ê-li-sa, Tác-sít, người Kít-tim, người Rô-đa-nim.

8Các con của ông Kham là Cút, Mít-ra-gim, Pút, Ca-na-an.

9Các con của ông Cút là Xơ-va, Kha-vi-la, Xáp-ta, Ra-ơ-ma, Xáp-tơ-kha. Các con của ông Ra-ơ-ma là Sơ-va, Đơ-đan.

10Ông Cút sinh ra ông Nim-rốt là người anh hùng đầu tiên trên mặt đất.

11Ông Mít-ra-gim sinh ra dân Lút, dân A-nam, dân Lơ-háp, dân Náp-tu-khim,

12dân Pát-rốt, dân Cát-lúc và dân Cáp-to, từ dân này mới có dân Phi-li-tinh.

13Ông Ca-na-an sinh ra ông Xi-đôn là con đầu lòng, rồi sinh ông Khết,

14và các người Giơ-vút, người E-mô-ri, người Ghia-ga-si,

15người Khi-vi, người Ác-ki, người Xi-ni,

16người Ác-vát, người Xơ-ma-ri, người Kha-mát.

17Các con của ông Sêm là Ê-lam, Át-sua, Ác-pắc-sát, Lút, A-ram, Út, Khun, Ghe-the, Me-séc.

18Ác-pắc-sát sinh Se-lác. Se-lác sinh Ê-ve.

19Ê-ve được hai người con trai : người thứ nhất tên là Pe-lét, vì trong thời gian ông sống, đất được phân chia ; người em tên là Gióc-tan.

20Gióc-tan sinh An-mô-đát, Se-lép, Kha-xa-ma-vét, Gie-rác,

21Ha-đô-ram, U-dan, Đích-la,

22Ê-van, A-vi-ma-ên, Sơ-va,

23Ô-phia, Kha-vi-la, Giô-váp. Tất cả những người đó là con của ông Gióc-tan.

24Ác-pắc-sát, Se-lác,

25Ê-ve, Pe-lét, Rơ-u,

26Xơ-rúc, Na-kho, Te-rác,

27Áp-ram, tức là Áp-ra-ham.

28Các con của ông Áp-ra-ham là I-xa-ác và Ít-ma-ên. Đây là hậu duệ của các ngài.

29Con đầu lòng của ông Ít-ma-ên là Nơ-va-giốt, rồi đến Kê-đa, Át-bơ-ên, Míp-xam,

30Mít-ma, Đu-ma, Ma-xa, Kha-đát, Tê-ma,

31Giơ-tua, Na-phít, Kết-ma. Đấy là các con của ông Ít-ma-ên.

32Con của bà Cơ-tu-ra, vợ lẽ của ông Áp-ra-ham : bà sinh Dim-ran, Gióc-san, Mơ-đan, Ma-đi-an, Gít-bắc, Su-ác. Các con của ông Gióc-san là Sơ-va và Đơ-đan.

33Các con của ông Ma-đi-an là Ê-pha, Ê-phe, Kha-nốc, A-vi-đa, En-đa-a. Tất cả những người ấy là con cháu bà Cơ-tu-ra.

34Ông Áp-ra-ham sinh I-xa-ác. Các con của ông I-xa-ác là Ê-xau và Ít-ra-en.

35Các con của ông Ê-xau là Ê-li-phát, Rơ-u-ên, Giơ-út, Gia-lam, Cô-rắc.

36Các con của ông Ê-li-phát là Tê-man, Ô-ma, Xơ-phi, Ga-ơ-tam, Cơ-nát, Tim-na, A-ma-lếch.

37Các con của ông Rơ-u-ên là Na-khắt, De-rác, Sam-ma, Mít-da.

38Các con của ông Xê-ia là Lô-tan, Sô-van, Xíp-ôn, An-na, Đi-sôn, Ê-xe, Đi-san.

39Các con của ông Lô-tan là Khô-ri, Hô-mam. Em gái của ông Lô-tan là Tim-na.

40Các con của ông Sô-van là An-gian, Ma-na-khát, Ê-van, Sơ-phi, Ô-nam. Các con của ông Xíp-ôn là Ai-gia và A-na.

41Con của ông A-na là Đi-sôn. Các con của ông Đi-sôn là Kham-ran, Ét-ban, Gít-ran, Cơ-ran.

42Các con của ông Ê-xe là Bin-han, Da-a-van, Gia-a-can. Các con của ông Đi-sôn là Út và A-ran.

43Đây là các vua cai trị xứ Ê-đôm trước khi con cái Ít-ra-en có vua : vua Be-la con vua Bơ-o, và thành của vua tên là Đin-ha-va.

44Vua Be-la qua đời, ông Giô-váp, con ông De-rác, người Bót-ra, lên kế vị.

45Vua Giô-váp qua đời, ông Khu-sam, người gốc xứ Tê-man, lên kế vị.

46Vua Khu-sam qua đời, ông Ha-đát, con ông Bơ-đát, lên kế vị. Vua này đánh bại người Ma-đi-an trong cánh đồng Mô-áp, thành của vua tên là A-vít.

47Vua Ha-đát qua đời, ông Xam-la, người thành Mát-rê-ca, lên kế vị.

48Vua Xam-la qua đời, ông Sa-un, người thành Rơ-khô-vốt Ha Na-ha lên kế vị.

49Vua Sa-un qua đời, ông Ba-an Kha-nan, con ông Ác-bo lên kế vị.

50Vua Ba-an Kha-nan qua đời, ông Ha-đát lên kế vị ; thành của vua tên là Pa-i ; vợ vua tên là Mơ-hê-táp-ên, con gái ông Mát-rết, người thành Mê Da-háp.

51Vua Ha-đát qua đời thì có các tộc trưởng Ê-đôm : tộc trưởng Tim-na, tộc trưởng An-va, tộc trưởng Giơ-thết,

52tộc trưởng O-ho-li-va-ma, tộc trưởng Ê-la, tộc trưởng Pi-nôn,

53tộc trưởng Cơ-nát, tộc trưởng Tê-man, tộc trưởng Míp-xa,

54tộc trưởng Mác-đi-ên, tộc trưởng I-ram. Đó là các tộc trưởng Ê-đôm.
