The Lamb Takes the Scroll

1Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the One seated on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.

2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it.

4And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.

5Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven spiritsof God sent out into all the earth.

7And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne.

8When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

9And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals,because You were slain,and by Your blood You purchased for Godthose from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

10You have made them to be a kingdomand priests to serve our God, and they will reign uponthe earth.”

The Lamb Exalted

11Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels encircling the throne, and the living creatures and the elders. And their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.

12In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,to receive power and richesand wisdom and strengthand honor and glory and blessing!”

13And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throneand to the Lambbe praise and honor and glory and powerforever and ever!”

14And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

1Rồi tôi thấy trong tay hữu Đấng ngồi trên ngôi một quyển sách viết cả trong lẫn ngoài, có đóng bảy cái ấn.

2Tôi cũng thấy một vị thiên sứ mạnh mẽ cất tiếng lớn kêu rằng: Ai đáng mở quyển sách nầy và tháo những ấn nầy?

3Dầu trên trời, dưới đất, bên dưới đất, không ai có thể mở quyển sách ấy hoặc nhìn xem nó nữa.

4Vì không có ai đáng mở quyển sách ấy hoặc nhìn xem nó nữa, nên tôi khóc dầm dề.

5Bấy giờ, một người trong các trưởng lão nói với tôi rằng: Chớ khóc, kìa, sư tử của chi phái Giu-đa, tức là Chồi của vua Đa-vít, đã thắng, thì có thể mở quyển sách ấy và tháo bảy cái ấn ra.

6Tôi lại thấy chính giữa ngôi và bốn con sanh vật, cùng chính giữa các trưởng lão, có một Chiên Con ở đó như đã bị giết; Chiên Con có bảy sừng và bảy mắt, là bảy vì thần của Đức Chúa Trời sai xuống khắp thế gian.

7Chiên Con bước tới, lấy sách ở tay hữu đấng ngự trên ngôi.

8Khi lấy sách, bốn con sanh vật và hai mươi bốn trưởng lão bèn sấp mình xuống trước mặt Chiên Con, mỗi kẻ cầm một cây đàn và những bình vàng đầy hương; đó là những lời cầu nguyện của các thánh.

9Chúng hát một bài ca mới rằng: Ngài đáng lấy quyển sách mà mở những ấn ra; vì Ngài đã chịu giết lấy huyết mình mà chuộc cho Đức Chúa Trời những người thuộc về mọi chi phái, mọi tiếng, mọi dân tộc, mọi nước,

10và Ngài đã làm cho những người ấy nên nước, và thầy tế lễ cho Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta; những người ấy sẽ trị vì trên mặt đất.

11Đoạn, tôi nhìn xem, nghe bốn bên ngôi và các sanh vật cùng các trưởng lão, có tiếng của vô số thiên sứ; thiên sứ hàng muôn hàng ngàn,

12đồng nói lên một tiếng lớn rằng: Chiên Con đã chịu giết đáng được quyền phép, giàu có, khôn ngoan, năng lực, tôn quí, vinh hiển và ngợi khen!

13Tôi lại nghe mọi vật dựng nên trên trời, dưới đất, bên dưới đất trên biển, cùng mọi vật ở đó đều nói rằng: Chúc cho Đấng ngồi trên ngôi cùng Chiên Con được ngợi khen, tôn quí vinh hiển và quyền phép cho đến đời đời!

14Rồi bốn con sanh vật đều nói: A-men. Và các trưởng lão sấp mình xuống mà thờ lạy.
