Psalms

1O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

2Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.

5Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

6Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

7He led them also by a straight way, That they might go to a city of habitation.

8Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good.

10Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

11Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

12Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

13Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bonds in sunder.

15Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.

19Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.

20He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

21Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare his works with singing.

23They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

24These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

25For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

27They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end.

28Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

30Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, And praise him in the seat of the elders.

33He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

36And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, That they may prepare a city of habitation,

37And sow fields, and plant vineyards, And get them fruits of increase.

38He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39Again, they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

42The upright shall see it, and be glad; And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43Whoso is wise will give heed to these things; And they will consider the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah.

1Hãy ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va, vì Ngài là thiện; Sự nhân từ Ngài còn đến đời đời.

2Các người Đức Giê-hô-va đã chuộc Khỏi tay kẻ hà hiếp hãy nói điều đó,

3Tức là các người Ngài đã hiệp lại từ các xứ; Từ phương đông, phương tây, phương bắc, phương nam.

4Họ lưu lạc nơi đồng vắng, trong con đường hiu quạnh, Không tìm thành ở được;

5Họ bị đói khát, Linh hồn bèn nao sờn trong mình họ.

6Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan,

7Dẫn họ theo đường ngay thẳng, Đặng đi đến một thành ở được.

8Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhân từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

9Vì Ngài làm cho lòng khao khát được thỏa thích, Khiến cho hồn đói được đầy dẫy vật tốt.

10Những kẻ ở trong tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Bị khốn khổ và xích sắt bắt buộc,

11Bởi vì đã bội nghịch lời Đức Chúa Trời, Và khinh dể sự khuyên dạy của Đấng Chí cao.

12Nhân đó Ngài lấy sự lao khổ hạ lòng họ xuống; Họ vấp ngã không ai giúp đỡ.

13Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va; Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan,

14Rút họ khỏi sự tối tăm và bóng sự chết, Cũng bẻ gãy xiềng của họ.

15Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhân từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

16Vì Ngài đã phá cửa đồng, Và gãy các song sắt.

17Kẻ ngu dại bị khốn khổ Vì sự vi phạm và sự gian ác mình;

18Lòng chúng nó gớm ghê các thứ đồ ăn; Họ đến gần cửa sự chết.

19Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.

20Ngài ra lịnh chữa họ lành, Rút họ khỏi cái huyệt.

21Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhân từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

22Nguyện chúng dâng của lễ thù ân, Lấy bài hát vui mừng mà thuật các công việc Ngài.

23Có người đi xuống tàu trong biển, Và làm việc nơi nước cả;

24Kẻ ấy thấy công việc Đức Giê-hô-va, Xem phép lạ Ngài trong nước sâu.

25Ngài biểu, bèn có trận gió bão, Nổi các lượn sóng lên.

26Đưa cao đến các từng trời, rồi hụp xuống tới vực sâu: Lòng họ tiêu tan vì khốn khổ.

27Họ choáng váng xiêu tó như một người say, Sự khôn ngoan họ đều mất hết.

28Bấy giờ trong cơn gian truân họ kêu cầu Đức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn giải cứu họ khỏi điều gian nan.

29Ngài ngừng bão-tố, đổi nó ra bình tịnh, Và sóng êm lặng.

30Họ bèn vui mừng vì sóng êm lặng; Chúa dẫn họ vào bến họ ước ao.

31Nguyện người ta ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va vì sự nhân từ Ngài, Và vì các công việc lạ lùng Ngài làm cho con loài người!

32Người ta cũng hãy tôn cao Ngài trong hội dân sự, Và ngợi khen, Ngài tại nơi hiệp tập các trưởng lão.

33Ngài đổi sông ra đồng vắng, Suối nước thành đất khô,

34Và đất màu mỡ ra đất mặn, Vì cớ sự gian ác của dân ở tại đó.

35Ngài biến đồng vắng thành ao nước, Đất khô ra những suối nước;

36Ngài làm cho những kẻ đói được ở tại đó, Họ xây lập thành đặng ở.

37Họ gieo ruộng và trồng nho, Ruộng và nho sanh bông trái.

38Đức Chúa Trời ban phước cho họ đến đỗi họ sanh sản nhiều thêm; Ngài không để cho súc vật họ bị hao hớt.

39Họ lại bị hạ số và phải cực lòng Vì sự hà hiếp, sự gian nan, và sự buồn rầu.

40Ngài đổ sự nhuốc nhơ trên vua chúa, Khiến họ phải lưu lạc trong nơi vắng vẻ không đường.

41Nhưng Ngài vớt kẻ thiếu thốn khỏi hoạn nạn, Làm cho người ấy được gia quyến đông như bầy chiên.

42Các người ngay thẳng sẽ thấy điều ấy, và vui vẻ, Còn các kẻ ác đều phải ngậm miệng lại.

43Phàm kẻ nào khôn ngoan sẽ chú ý về điều nầy, Và suy gẫm sự nhân từ của Đức Giê-hô-va.
