Psalms

1By David. Do not fret because of evil doers, Be not envious against doers of iniquity,

2For as grass speedily they are cut off, And as the greenness of the tender grass do fade.

3Trust in Jehovah, and do good, Dwell [in] the land, and enjoy faithfulness,

4And delight thyself on Jehovah, And He giveth to thee the petitions of thy heart.

5Roll on Jehovah thy way, And trust upon Him, and He worketh,

6And hath brought out as light thy righteousness, And thy judgment as noon-day.

7Be silent for Jehovah, and stay thyself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making prosperous his way, Because of a man doing wicked devices.

8Desist from anger, and forsake fury, Fret not thyself only to do evil.

9For evil doers are cut off, As to those waiting on Jehovah, they possess the land.

10And yet a little, and the wicked is not, And thou hast considered his place, and it is not.

11And the humble do possess the land, And they have delighted themselves In the abundance of peace.

12The wicked is devising against the righteous, And gnashing against him his teeth.

13The Lord doth laugh at him, For He hath seen that his day cometh.

14A sword have the wicked opened, And they have trodden their bow, To cause to fall the poor and needy, To slaughter the upright of the way.

15Their sword doth enter into their own heart, And their bows are shivered.

16Better [is] the little of the righteous, Than the store of many wicked.

17For the arms of the wicked are shivered, And Jehovah is sustaining the righteous.

18Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is — to the age.

19They are not ashamed in a time of evil, And in days of famine they are satisfied.

20But the wicked perish, and the enemies of Jehovah, As the preciousness of lambs, Have been consumed, In smoke they have been consumed.

21The wicked is borrowing and repayeth not, And the righteous is gracious and giving.

22For His blessed ones do possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.

23From Jehovah [are] the steps of a man, They have been prepared, And his way he desireth.

24When he falleth, he is not cast down, For Jehovah is sustaining his hand.

25Young I have been, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, And his seed seeking bread.

26All the day he is gracious and lending, And his seed [is] for a blessing.

27Turn aside from evil, and do good, and dwell to the age.

28For Jehovah is loving judgment, And He doth not forsake His saintly ones, To the age they have been kept, And the seed of the wicked is cut off.

29The righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it.

30The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And his tongue speaketh judgment.

31The law of his God [is] his heart, His steps do not slide.

32The wicked is watching for the righteous, And is seeking to put him to death.

33Jehovah doth not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him in his being judged.

34Look unto Jehovah, and keep His way, And He doth exalt thee to possess the land, In the wicked being cut off — thou seest!

35I have seen the wicked terrible, And spreading as a green native plant,

36And he passeth away, and lo, he is not, And I seek him, and he is not found!

37Observe the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each [is] peace.

38And transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.

39And the salvation of the righteous [is] from Jehovah, Their strong place in a time of adversity.

40And Jehovah doth help them and deliver them, He delivereth them from the wicked, And saveth them, Because they trusted in Him!

1Chớ phiền lòng vì cớ kẻ làm dữ, Cũng đừng ghen tị kẻ tập tành sự gian ác.

2Vì chẳng bao lâu chúng nó sẽ bị phát như cỏ, Và phải héo như cỏ tươi xanh.

3Hãy tin cậy Đức Giê-hô-va, và làm điều lành; Khá ở trong xứ, và nuôi mình bằng sự thành tín của Ngài.

4Cũng hãy khoái lạc nơi Đức Giê-hô-va, Thì Ngài sẽ ban cho ngươi điều lòng mình ao ước.

5Hãy phó thác đường lối mình cho Đức Giê-hô-va, Và nhờ cậy nơi Ngài, thì Ngài sẽ làm thành việc ấy.

6Ngài sẽ khiến công bình ngươi lộ ra như ánh sáng, Và tỏ ra lý đoán ngươi như chánh ngọ.

7Hãy yên tịnh trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, và chờ đợi Ngài. Chớ phiền lòng vì cớ kẻ được may mắn trong con đường mình, Hoặc vì cớ người làm thành những mưu ác.

8Hãy dẹp sự giận, và bỏ sự giận hoảng; Chớ phiền lòng, vì điều đó chỉ gây ra việc ác.

9Vì những kẻ làm ác sẽ bị diệt; Còn kẻ nào trông đợi Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ được đất làm cơ nghiệp.

10Một chút nữa kẻ ác không còn. Ngươi sẽ xem xét chỗ hắn, thật không còn nữa.

11Song người hiền từ sẽ nhận được đất làm cơ nghiệp, Và được khoái lạc về bình yên dư dật.

12Kẻ ác lập mưu nghịch người công bình, Và nghiến răng cùng người.

13Chúa sẽ chê cười nó, Vì thấy ngày phạt nó hầu đến.

14Kẻ ác đã rút gươm và giương cung mình, Đặng đánh đổ người khốn cùng và kẻ thiếu thốn, Đặng giết người đi theo sự ngay thẳng.

15Gươm chúng nó sẽ đâm vào lòng chúng nó, Và cung chúng nó sẽ bị gãy.

16Của người công bình tuy ít, Còn hơn sự dư dật của nhiều người ác.

17Vì cánh tay kẻ ác sẽ bị gãy, Nhưng Đức Giê-hô-va nâng đỡ người công bình.

18Đức Giê-hô-va biết số ngày kẻ trọn vẹn, Và cơ nghiệp người sẽ còn đến đời đời.

19Trong thì xấu xa họ không bị hổ thẹn; Trong ngày đói kém họ được no nê.

20Còn kẻ ác sẽ hư mất, Những kẻ thù nghịch Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ như mỡ chiên con: Chúng nó phải đốt tiêu, tan đi như khói.

21Kẻ ác mượn, mà không trả lại; Còn người công bình làm ơn, và ban cho.

22Vì người mà Đức Chúa Trời ban phước cho sẽ nhận được đất; Còn kẻ mà Ngài rủa sả sẽ bị diệt đi.

23Đức Giê-hô-va định liệu các bước của người, Và Ngài thích đường lối người:

24Dầu người té, cũng không nằm sải dài; Vì Đức Giê-hô-va lấy tay Ngài nâng đỡ người.

25Trước tôi trẻ, rày đã già, Nhưng chẳng hề thấy người công bình bị bỏ, Hay là dòng dõi người đi ăn mày.

26Hằng ngày người thương xót, và cho mượn; Dòng dõi người được phước.

27Hãy tránh điều dữ, và làm điều lành, Thì sẽ được ở đời đời.

28Vì Đức Giê-hô-va chuộng sự công bình, Không từ bỏ người thánh của Ngài; họ được Ngài gìn giữ đời đời: Còn dòng dõi kẻ dữ sẽ bị diệt đi.

29Người công bình sẽ nhận được đất, Và ở tại đó đời đời.

30Miệng người công bình xưng điều khôn ngoan, Và lưỡi người nói sự chánh trực.

31Luật pháp Đức Chúa Trời người ở trong lòng người; Bước người không hề xiêu tó.

32Kẻ ác rình rập người công bình, Và tìm giết người.

33Đức Giê-hô-va không bỏ người trong tay hắn, Cũng chẳng định tội cho người khi người bị đoán xét.

34Hãy trông đợi Đức Giê-hô-va, và giữ theo đường Ngài, Thì Ngài sẽ nâng ngươi khiến để nhận được đất! Khi kẻ ác bị diệt đi, thì ngươi sẽ thấy điều ấy.

35Tôi từng thấy kẻ ác có thế lực lớn, Trải ra như cây xanh tươi mọc nơi cố thổ,

36Song có người đi qua, kìa, hắn chẳng còn nữa; Tôi tìm hắn, nhưng không gặp.

37Hãy chăm chú người trọn vẹn, và nhìn xem người ngay thẳng; Vì cuối cùng người hòa bình có phước.

38Còn các kẻ vi phạm sẽ cùng nhau bị hủy hoại; Sự tương lai kẻ ác sẽ bị diệt đi.

39Nhưng sự cứu rỗi người công bình do Đức Giê-hô-va mà đến; Ngài là đồn lũy của họ trong thì gian truân.

40Đức Giê-hô-va giúp đỡ và giải cứu họ; Ngài giải họ khỏi kẻ ác và cứu rỗi cho, Bởi vì họ đã nương náu mình nơi Ngài.
