1At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the LORD’s house and his own house,

2Solomon built the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

3Solomon went to Hamath Zobah, and prevailed against it.

4He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities, which he built in Hamath.

5Also he built Beth Horon the upper and Beth Horon the lower, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars;

6and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7As for all the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel—

8of their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel didn’t consume—of them Solomon conscripted forced labor to this day.

9But of the children of Israel, Solomon made no servants for his work, but they were men of war, chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

10These were the chief officers of King Solomon, even two-hundred fifty, who ruled over the people.

11Solomon brought up Pharaoh’s daughter out of David’s city to the house that he had built for her; for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where the LORD’s ark has come are holy.”

12Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the LORD’s altar which he had built before the porch,

13even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times per year, during the feast of unleavened bread, during the feast of weeks, and during the feast of booths.

14He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required, the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate, for David the man of God had so commanded.

15They didn’t depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter or concerning the treasures.

16Now all the work of Solomon was accomplished from the day of the foundation of the LORD’s house until it was finished. So the LORD’s house was completed.

17Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

18Huram sent him ships and servants who had knowledge of the sea by the hands of his servants; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and brought from there four hundred fifty talentsof gold, and brought them to King Solomon.

1Cuối hai mươi năm, sau khi Sa-lô-môn đã xây cất xong cái đền của Đức Giê-hô-va và cái cung mình,

2thì Sa-lô-môn cũng sửa xây lại các thành mà vua Hu-ram đã nhường cho người, và khiến cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ở đó.

3Sa-lô-môn đi đến đánh Ha-mát-Xô-ba và thắng được.

4Người xây thành Tát-mốt trong đồng vắng, và xây các thành dùng làm kho tàng tại xứ Ha-mát.

5Người cũng xây Bết-Hô-rôn trên và Bết-Hô-rôn dưới, là những thành bền vững, có vách tường, cửa và then khóa;

6lại xây thành Ba-lát và các thành làm kho tàng của Sa-lô-môn, các thành để chứa xe, và các thành cho lính kỵ người ở; phàm điều gì Sa-lô-môn ước ao xây cất, hoặc tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, trên Li-ban, hay là trong khắp xứ phục dưới quyền người, thì đều xây cất cả.

7Hết thảy những người còn sống sót lại trong dân Hê-tít, dân A-mô-rít, dân Phê-rê-sít, dân Hê-vít, và dân Giê-bu-sít, không thuộc về Y-sơ-ra-ên,

8tức là những con cháu chúng nó hãy còn lại trong xứ, mà dân Y-sơ-ra-ên không diệt hết, thì trong chúng nó Sa-lô-môn bắt kẻ làm xâu cho đến ngày nay.

9Nhưng về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, Sa-lô-môn không bắt ai làm xâu hết, vì họ làm quân lính, quan tướng, quan cai xe, và lính kỵ của người.

10Còn về quan trưởng của Sa-lô-môn đặt lên để quản đốc dân sự làm công việc, số là hai trăm năm mươi người.

11Sa-lô-môn sai rước công chúa Pha-ra-ôn ở thành Đa-vít lên cung mà người đã cất cho nàng; vì người nói rằng: Vợ ta chẳng nên ở trong cung Đa-vít, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, vì nơi nào hòm của Đức Giê-hô-va đến, thì đã nên thánh rồi.

12Bấy giờ, Sa-lô-môn dâng của lễ thiêu cho Đức Giê-hô-va tại trên bàn thờ của Giê-hô-va mà người đã xây trước hiên cửa;

13lại tùy theo lệ luật của Môi-se, người dâng mỗi ngày của lễ phải dâng, cùng trong các ngày sa-bát, ngày mồng một, và hằng năm nhằm ba lễ trọng thể, tức lễ bánh không men, lễ các tuần lễ, và lễ lều tạm.

14Tùy theo lịnh truyền của Đa-vít, cha mình, người phân định ban thứ của những thầy tế lễ trong phần việc họ, và lập người Lê-vi trong chức sự họ, đặng ngợi khen Chúa và hầu việc tại trước mặt những thầy tế lễ, cứ công việc ngày nào theo ngày nấy; tại mỗi cửa cũng đặt kẻ giữ cửa, cứ theo phiên mình, vì Đa-vít, người của Đức Chúa Trời, đã truyền lịnh như vậy.

15Phàm điều gì vua đã phán dạy những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi, hoặc về kho tàng hay là về việc khác, thì họ chẳng bỏ bê chút nào.

16Vả, các tài liệu mà Sa-lô-môn dùng về việc cất đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, đều đã sắm sửa từ ngày đặt nền cho đến khi công việc xong. Đền của Đức Giê-hô-va đã cất xong là như vậy.

17Khi ấy Sa-lô-môn đi đến Ê-xi-ôn-Ghê-be và Ê-lốt, tại trên mé biển, trong xứ Ê-đôm.

18Hu-ram bởi tay các tôi tớ mình, gởi đến cho người những tàu và các thủy thủ thạo nghề đi biển; chúng đi với các tôi tớ của Sa-lô-môn đến Ô-phia, lấy tại đó bốn trăm năm mươi ta lâng vàng, và chở về cho vua Sa-lô-môn.
