Ni-ni-ve Sụp Đổ

1Hỡi Ni-ni-ve, người tàn pháđang tiến quân đánh thẳng vào ngươi.Hãy bảo vệ các đồn lũy! Canh phòng các trục giao thông! Hãy chuẩn bị chiến đấu! Tăng cường quân lực!

2Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ phục hồi vinh quang cho Gia-cốp,như vinh quang của Ít-ra-ên dù những kẻ hủy diệt đã phá tan hoang và tiêu diệt hết các vườn nho của chúng.

3Thuẫn khiên của lính chiến màu đỏ!Quân phục các binh sĩ cũng đỏ!Trong ngày dàn trận chuẩn bị giáp chiến,kim khí trên chiến xa lòe sáng như chớp, với một rừng gươm giáo vung trên chúng.

4Các chiến xa chạy như bão trong các đường phố,qua lại vùn vụt trên các thông lộ.Mỗi chiếc đều sáng lòe như bó đuốcvà chạy nhanh như chớp.

5Vua triệu tập các quân đội;họ vấp ngã khi chạy ra các chiến lũy, khiên thuẫn sẵn sàng.

6Các sông cái sẽ bật mở!Cung điện sẽ đổ sập!

7Sắc lệnh đày ải Ni-ni-ve được ban ra,những tớ gái khóc than vì bị bắt.Họ rên rỉ như bồ câuvà đấm ngực đau khổ.

8Ni-ni-ve giống như một hồ nứt cạn nước!Dân chúng chạy trốn.Có tiếng hô: “Dừng lại! Dừng lại!”nhưng không ai quay lại.

9Hãy chiếm đoạt bạc và vàng.Vì kho tàng bảo vật Ni-ni-ve thật vô hạn— tài sản quý giá nhiều vô số.

10Nó bị tàn phá và bị cướp sạch chẳng còn gì cả.Lòng dân tan chảy và các đầu gối đập vào nhau. Chúng đứng sửng run rẩy, mặt mày tái xanh.

11Ni-ni-ve từng nổi tiếng một thời,như sư tử hùng cứ sơn lâm.Nó tạo riêng cho mình một cõi,để sư tử đực, sư tử cái dạo chơi, để sư tử con nô đùa không biết sợ.

12Sư tử xé thịt cho đàn con,bóp họng thú rừng để thết đãi sư tử cái. Tích trữ đầy mồi trong hang trong động. Nhưng bây giờ Ni-ni-ve ở đâu?

13Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân phán:“Này, Ta chống lại ngươi!Ta sẽ đốt các chiến xa ngươi trong khói lửavà các thanh niên ngươi sẽ bị lưỡi gươm tàn sát.Ta sẽ chấm dứt việc ngươi lùng bắt tù binhvà thu chiến lợi phẩm khắp mặt đất. Tiếng của các sứ thần ngươi sẽ chẳng còn được lắng nghe.”

1He is come up that shall destroy before thy face, that shall keep the siege: watch the way, fortify thy loins, strengthen thy power exceedingly.

2For the Lord hath rendered the pride of Jacob, as the pride of Israel: because the spoilers have laid them waste, and have marred their vine branches.

3The shield of his mighty men is like fire, the men of the army are clad in scarlet, the reins of the chariot are flaming in the day of his preparation, and the drivers are stupefied.

4They are in confusion in the ways, the chariots jostle one against another in the streets: their looks are like torches, like lightning running to and fro.

5He will muster up his valiant men, they shall stumble in their march: they shall quickly get upon the walls thereof: and a covering shall be prepared.

6The gates of the rivers are opened, and the temple is thrown down to the ground.

7And the soldier is led away captive: and her bondwomen were led away mourning as doves, murmuring in their hearts.

8And as for Ninive, her waters are like a great pool, but the men flee away. They cry: Stand, stand, but there is none that will return back.

9Take ye the spoil of the silver, take the spoil of the gold: for there is no end of the riches of all the precious furniture.

10She is destroyed, and rent, and torn: the heart melteth, and the knees fail, and all the loins lose their strength: and the faces of them all are as the blackness of a kettle.

11Where is now the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, to which the lion went, to enter in thither, the young lion, and there was none to make them afraid?

12The lion caught enough for his whelps, and killed for his lionesses: and he filled his holes with prey, and his den with rapine.

13Behold I come against thee, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will burn thy chariots even to smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey out of the land, and the voice of thy messengers shall be heard no more.
