Sự Cám Dỗ của Chúa Giê-xu

1Sau đó, Chúa Thánh Linh đưa Chúa Giê-xu vào hoang mạc để chịu ma quỷ cám dỗ.

2Chúa nhịn ăn suốt bốn mươi ngày bốn mươi đêm nên Ngài đói.

3Lúc đó ma quỷ liền đến và nói với Ngài: “Nếu Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời hãy hóa đá này thành bánh.”

4Nhưng Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thánh Kinh chép:‘Người ta sống không phải chỉ nhờ bánh,nhưng nhờ vâng theo mọi lời Đức Chúa Trời phán dạy.’”

5Ma quỷ liền đưa Ngài đến thành thánh Giê-ru-sa-lem, đặt Ngài trên nóc Đền Thờ.

6Nó xúi giục: “Để chứng tỏ Thầy là Con Đức Chúa Trời, Thầy cứ lao mình xuống đi! Vì Thánh Kinh chép:‘Ngài sẽ sai thiên sứ bảo vệ Con.Và họ sẽ giữ Con trong tay mình cho chân Con không vấp ngã vào đá.’”

7Chúa Giê-xu đáp: “Thánh Kinh cũng dạy: ‘Đừng thử Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi.’”

8Tiếp đó, ma quỷ đem Chúa lên đỉnh núi cao, chỉ cho Ngài các nước vinh quang rực rỡ khắp thế giới.

9Nó nói: “Nếu Thầy quỳ gối lạy tôi, tôi sẽ cho Thầy tất cả!”

10Chúa Giê-xu quở: “Lui đi Sa-tan! Vì Thánh Kinh dạy:‘Ngươi chỉ thờ lạy Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi,và chỉ phục vụ Ngài mà thôi.’”

11Ma quỷ liền rút lui, các thiên sứ đến và phục vụ Chúa Giê-xu.

Bắt Đầu Chức Vụ của Chúa Giê-xu

12Được tin Giăng bị tù, Chúa Giê-xu lìa xứ Giu-đê về thành Na-xa-rét xứ Ga-li-lê.

13Ngài lại rời Na-xa-rét, đến ngụ tại thành Ca-bê-na-um bên bờ biển Ga-li-lê, cạnh vùng Sa-bu-luân và Nép-ta-li.

14Việc xảy ra đúng như lời Tiên tri Y-sai:

15“Đất Sa-bu-luân và Nép-ta-li,cạnh bờ biển, bên kia sông Giô-đan, là miền Ga-li-lê có nhiều dân ngoại cư trú,

16dân vùng ấy đang ngồi trong bóng tốiđã thấy ánh sáng chói lòa.Đang ở trong tử địa âm ubỗng được ánh sáng chiếu soi.”

17Từ đó, Chúa Giê-xu bắt đầu giảng dạy: “Hãy ăn năn tội lỗi, quay về với Đức Chúa Trời, vì Nước Thiên Đàng gần đến!”

Các Môn Đệ Đầu Tiên

18Một hôm, Chúa đang đi ven bờ biển Ga-li-lê, gặp hai anh em—Si-môn, còn gọi là Phi-e-rơ, và Anh-rê—đang thả lưới đánh cá, vì họ làm nghề chài lưới.

19Chúa Giê-xu gọi họ: “Hãy theo Ta! Ta sẽ đào luyện các con thành người đánh lưới người.”

20Họ liền bỏ lưới chài, đi theo Chúa.

21Đi khỏi đó một quãng, Chúa thấy hai anh em Gia-cơ và Giăng, con trai Xê-bê-đê, đang ngồi vá lưới với cha trên thuyền. Chúa gọi hai anh em.

22Họ lập tức bỏ thuyền, từ giã cha mình, đi theo Chúa.

Đoàn Dân Đông Theo Chúa Giê-xu

23Chúa Giê-xu đi khắp xứ Ga-li-lê, dạy dỗ trong các hội đường, công bố Phúc Âm về Nước Trời. Và Ngài chữa lành mọi bệnh tật cho dân chúng.

24Danh tiếng Chúa đồn qua bên kia biên giới Ga-li-lê, lan khắp xứ Sy-ri, đến nỗi dân chúng đem tất cả người đau yếu đến với Ngài. Bất cứ bệnh tật gì, động kinh, tê liệt, hay quỷ ám—Chúa đều chữa lành cả.

25Đoàn dân đông đảo từ xứ Ga-li-lê, Mười Thành, Giê-ru-sa-lem, cả xứ Giu-đê, và miền đông sông Giô-đan kéo nhau đi theo Chúa.

1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4But he answered and said,It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7Jesus said unto him,It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10Then saith Jesus unto him,Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

12¶ Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

13And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

14That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

15The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

16The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17¶ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say,Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18¶ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

19And he saith unto them,Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

21And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

23¶ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
