Ẩn Dụ về Mười Cô Phụ Dâu

1“Lúc ấy, Nước Trời sẽ giống trường hợp mười cô trinh nữ cầm đèn đi rước chàng rể.

2Năm cô dại, và năm cô khôn.

3Năm cô dại cầm đèn mà quên đem thêm dầu,

4trong khi các cô khôn đem dầu theo để châm vào đèn.

5Vì chàng rể đến trễ, các cô đều ngủ gục.

6Đến khuya, có tiếng gọi: ‘Chàng rễ sắp đến! Mau ra nghênh tiếp!’

7Tất cả trinh nữ bừng tỉnh, mở mắt chuẩn bị đèn dầu.

8Các cô dại thấy đèn mình cạn dầu sắp tắt, liền nài nỉ các bạn chia cho tí dầu.

9Các cô khôn từ khước: ‘Chúng tôi không có đủ dầu để chia sớt. Các chị nên ra quán mua.’

10Khi các cô ra quán, chàng rể đến. Năm cô sẵn sàng chờ đợi đều được vào dự tiệc cưới, rồi cửa đóng lại.

11Còn năm cô dại khi quay lại, đứng ngoài gõ cửa, nài nỉ: ‘Xin mở cửa cho chúng tôi!’

12Nhưng chàng rể đáp: ‘Các cô phải đi nơi khác! Muộn quá rồi!’

13Vậy, phải cảnh giác chờ đợi! Vì các con không biết ngày giờ Ta trở lại.”

Ẩn Dụ về Ba Đầy Tớ

14“Nước Trời cũng giống trường hợp người chủ sắp lên đường viễn du, gọi các đầy tớ vào, ủy thác cho họ tài sản mình.

15Chủ giao cho người thứ nhất năm túi bạc,người thứ hai, hai túi bạc, và người thứ ba một túi bạc.

16Sau khi chủ lên đường, người lãnh năm túi bạc lập tức kinh doanh, lời được năm túi bạc.

17Người nhận hai túi bạc cũng đầu tư, thu lời hai túi bạc.

18Còn người nhận một túi bạc đào đất chôn giấu số bạc của chủ.

19Sau một thời gian khá lâu, chủ trở về, tính sổ với các đầy tớ.

20Người nhận năm túi bạc đem thêm năm túi bạc đến trình: ‘Thưa chủ, năm túi bạc chủ giao, tôi làm lời thêm được năm túi nữa.’

21Chủ khen: ‘Tốt lắm, đầy tớ ngay thật và trung tín. Con đã trung tín trong việc nhỏ, nên sẽ được ủy thác nhiều việc lớn. Hãy cùng chung vui với Ta!’

22Người lãnh hai túi bạc cũng bước đến: ‘Thưa chủ, hai túi bạc chủ giao, tôi làm lợi thêm được hai túi nữa.’

23Chủ khen: ‘Tốt lắm, đầy tớ ngay thật và trung tín. Con đã trung tín trong việc nhỏ, nên sẽ được ủy thác nhiều việc lớn. Hãy cùng chung vui với ta!’

24Người nhận một túi bạc đến phân trần: ‘Thưa chủ, tôi biết chủ khắt khe, hay gặt hái trong chỗ không gieo, thu hoạch ở nơi không trồng.

25Vì lo sợ, nên tôi tìm chỗ chôn giấu tiền của chủ, và đây, tôi xin gửi lại số tiền cho chủ.’

26Chủ quở trách: ‘Anh thật gian ngoa lười biếng! Đã biết ta thu hoạch lợi tức,

27sao anh không gửi số vàng ấy vào ngân hàng để khi ta về sẽ lấy cả vốn lẫn lời?’

28Rồi chủ ra lệnh: ‘Đem số tiền này cho người có mười túi bạc.

29Vì ai có, sẽ được thêm đến mức dư dật; còn ai không có, dù còn gì cũng bị lấy đi.

30Còn tên đầy tớ vô dụng kia, đem quăng nó vào chỗ tối tăm, đầy tiếng than khóc và nghiến răng.’”

Sự Phán Xét Sau Cùng

31“Khi Con Người trở lại địa cầu trong vinh quang với tất cả các thiên sứ thánh, Ta sẽ ngồi trên ngôi vinh quang.

32Tất cả dân tộc sẽ tập họp trước mặt Ta. Ta sẽ phân chia họ làm hai, như người chăn chia chiên với dê,

33sắp người công chính đứng bên phải và người gian ác bên trái.

34Vua sẽ nói với nhóm người bên phải: ‘Những người được Cha Ta ban phước! Hãy vào hưởng cơ nghiệp Ta đã chuẩn bị cho các con từ khi sáng tạo trời đất.

35Vì lúc Ta đói, các con cho Ta ăn. Ta khát, các con cho Ta uống. Ta là khách lạ, các con tiếp rước Ta về nhà.

36Ta trần truồng, các con mặc áo cho Ta. Ta đau yếu, các con chăm sóc Ta. Ta bị tù, các con thăm viếng Ta.’

37Lúc ấy, những người công chính sẽ ngạc nhiên: ‘Thưa Chúa, có khi nào chúng con thấy Chúa đói mà mời ăn? Hay thấy Chúa khát mà mời uống?

38Hoặc gặp Chúa là khách lạ mà tiếp đãi? Thấy Chúa trần truồng mà mặc quần áo?

39Hay biết Chúa đau ốm và bị tù mà thăm viếng đâu?’

40Và Vua giải thích: ‘Ta quả quyết với các con, khi các con tiếp đãi anh em và chị em Ta tức là tiếp đãi Ta!’

41Rồi Vua quay sang nhóm người bên trái và nói: ‘Những người gian ác đáng nguyền rủa kia! Đi ngay vào lò lửa đời đời không hề tắt dành cho quỷ vương và các quỷ sứ.

42Vì Ta đói các ngươi không cho Ta ăn. Ta khát các ngươi không cho Ta uống.

43Ta là khách lạ, các ngươi không tiếp đón Ta. Ta trần truồng, các ngươi không mặc áo cho Ta. Ta đau ốm và bị tù, các ngươi không thăm viếng Ta!’

44Họ sẽ thắc mắc: ‘Thưa Chúa, chúng con có bao giờ thấy Chúa đói, khát, khách lạ, trần truồng, đau ốm, hay bị giam cầm đâu mà săn sóc giúp đỡ?’

45Ngài sẽ đáp: ‘Ta quả quyết với các ngươi, khi các ngươi từ chối không cứu giúp một anh em và chị em hèn mọn nhất của Ta, tức là các ngươi khước từ Ta.’

46Rồi người ác bị đưa vào nơi hình phạt đời đời, còn người công chính được hưởng sự sống vĩnh cửu.”

1'Then shall the reign of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom;

2and five of them were prudent, and five foolish;

3they who were foolish having taken their lamps, did not take with themselves oil;

4and the prudent took oil in their vessels, with their lamps.

5'And the bridegroom tarrying, they all nodded and were sleeping,

6and in the middle of the night a cry was made, Lo, the bridegroom doth come; go ye forth to meet him.

7'Then rose all those virgins, and trimmed their lamps,

8and the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out;

9and the prudent answered, saying — Lest there may not be sufficient for us and you, go ye rather unto those selling, and buy for yourselves.

10'And while they are going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those ready went in with him to the marriage-feasts, and the door was shut;

11and afterwards come also do the rest of the virgins, saying, Sir, sir, open to us;

12and he answering said, Verily I say to you, I have not known you.

13'Watch therefore, for ye have not known the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man doth come.

14'For — as a man going abroad did call his own servants, and did deliver to them his substance,

15and to one he gave five talents, and to another two, and to another one, to each according to his several ability, went abroad immediately.

16'And he who did receive the five talents, having gone, wrought with them, and made other five talents;

17in like manner also he who [received] the two, he gained, also he, other two;

18and he who did receive the one, having gone away, digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19'And after a long time cometh the lord of those servants, and taketh reckoning with them;

20and he who did receive the five talents having come, brought other five talents, saying, 'Sir, five talents thou didst deliver to me; lo, other five talents did I gain besides them.

21'And his lord said to him, Well done, servant, good and faithful, over a few things thou wast faithful, over many things I will set thee; enter into the joy of thy lord.

22'And he who also did receive the two talents having come, said, Sir, two talents thou didst deliver to me; lo, other two talents I did gain besides them.

23'His lord said to him, Well done, servant, good and faithful, over a few things thou wast faithful, over many things I will set thee; enter into the joy of thy lord.

24'And he also who hath received the one talent having come, said, Sir, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering from whence thou didst not scatter;

25and having been afraid, having gone away, I hid thy talent in the earth; lo, thou hast thine own!

26'And his lord answering said to him, Evil servant, and slothful, thou hadst known that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather whence I did not scatter!

27it behoved thee then to put my money to the money-lenders, and having come I had received mine own with increase.

28'Take therefore from him the talent, and give to him having the ten talents,

29for to every one having shall be given, and he shall have overabundance, and from him who is not having, even that which he hath shall be taken from him;

30and the unprofitable servant cast ye forth to the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.

31'And whenever the Son of Man may come in his glory, and all the holy messengers with him, then he shall sit upon a throne of his glory;

32and gathered together before him shall be all the nations, and he shall separate them from one another, as the shepherd doth separate the sheep from the goats,

33and he shall set the sheep indeed on his right hand, and the goats on the left.

34'Then shall the king say to those on his right hand, Come ye, the blessed of my Father, inherit the reign that hath been prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

35for I did hunger, and ye gave me to eat; I did thirst, and ye gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and ye received me;

36naked, and ye put around me; I was infirm, and ye looked after me; in prison I was, and ye came unto me.

37'Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungering, and we nourished? or thirsting, and we gave to drink?

38and when did we see thee a stranger, and we received? or naked, and we put around?

39and when did we see thee infirm, or in prison, and we came unto thee?

40'And the king answering, shall say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] to one of these my brethren — the least — to me ye did [it].

41Then shall he say also to those on the left hand, Go ye from me, the cursed, to the fire, the age-during, that hath been prepared for the Devil and his messengers;

42for I did hunger, and ye gave me not to eat; I did thirst, and ye gave me not to drink;

43a stranger I was, and ye did not receive me; naked, and ye put not around me; infirm, and in prison, and ye did not look after me.

44'Then shall they answer, they also, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or infirm, or in prison, and we did not minister to thee?

45'Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of these, the least, ye did [it] not to me.

46And these shall go away to punishment age-during, but the righteous to life age-during.'
