Genesis

1Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

2The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

3And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

4And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

6¶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

7And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

8And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

12And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

13And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

14And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

15¶ And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

16And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

17And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

18And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

22The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

23And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

24And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

25And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

26And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

27And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

28And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

29And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

30And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

31These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

1Đây là gia đình các con trai ông Nô-ê là Sêm, Kham và Gia-phét ; sau hồng thuỷ, họ đã sinh được những người con.

2Con của ông Gia-phét là : Gô-me, Ma-gốc, Mê-đi, Gia-van, Tu-van, Me-séc, Ti-rát.

3Con của ông Gô-me là : Át-cơ-nát, Ri-phát, Tô-gác-ma.

4Con của ông Gia-van là : Ê-li-sa, Tác-sít, Kít-tim, Đô-đa-nim.

5Con cháu họ đã phân tán thành các dân tộc trên các đảo. Mỗi người có đất riêng tuỳ theo tiếng nói, dòng họ và dân tộc của mình.

6Con của ông Kham là : Cút, Mít-ra-gim, Pút, Ca-na-an.

7Con của ông Cút là : Xơ-va, Kha-vi-la, Xáp-ta, Ra-ơ-ma, Xáp-tơ-kha. Con của ông Ra-ơ-ma là : Sơ-va, Đơ-đan.

8Ông Cút sinh ra ông Nim-rốt ; ông này là người anh hùng đầu tiên trên mặt đất.

9Ông là thợ săn dũng cảm trước mặt ĐỨC CHÚA. Vì thế có câu : “Như Nim-rốt, thợ săn anh hùng trước mặt ĐỨC CHÚA.”

10Khởi điểm vương quốc ông là Ba-ben, E-réc, Ác-cát, Can-nê, trong đất Sin-a.

11Từ đất ấy, ông rời đến Át-sua và xây các thành Ni-ni-vê, Rơ-khô-vốt, Ia, Ca-lác,

12và Re-xen, giữa Ni-ni-vê và Ca-lác, thành phố lớn.

13Mít-ra-gim sinh ra các người ở Lút, A-nam, Lơ-háp, Náp-tu-khim,

14Pát-rốt, Cát-lúc và Cáp-to ; từ dân này mới có dân Phi-li-tinh.

15Ca-na-an sinh ra Xi-đôn, là con đầu lòng, rồi sinh Khết,

16người Giơ-vút, E-mô-ri, Ghia-ga-si,

17Khi-vi, Ác-ki, Xi-ni,

18Ác-vát, Xơ-ma-ri, Kha-mát ; sau đó các dòng họ người Ca-na-an phân tán đi.

19Biên giới của người Ca-na-an đi từ Xi-đôn, về phía Gơ-ra thì đến tận Ga-da, về phía Xơ-đôm, Gô-mô-ra, Át-ma và Xơ-vô-gim thì đến Le-sa.

20Đó là các con ông Kham, theo dòng họ, tiếng nói, theo đất nước, dân tộc của họ.

21Cả ông Sêm cũng sinh được những người con, ông là ông tổ của mọi người con của ông Ê-ve và là anh cả của ông Gia-phét.

22Con của ông Sêm là : Ê-lam, Át-sua, Ác-pắc-sát, Lút, A-ram.

23Con của ông A-ram là Út, Khun, Ghe-the, Ma-sơ.

24Ác-pắc-sát sinh Se-lác, Se-lác sinh Ê-ve.

25Ê-ve sinh được hai con trai ; người thứ nhất tên là Pe-léc, vì thời ông đất được phân chia, người em tên là Gióc-tan.

26Gióc-tan sinh An-mô-đát, Se-lép, Kha-xa-ma-vét, Gie-rác,

27Ha-đô-ram, U-dan, Đích-la,

28Ô-van, A-vi-ma-ên, Sơ-va,

29Ô-phia, Kha-vi-la, Giô-váp. Tất cả những người đó là con ông Gióc-tan.

30Vùng họ ở trải rộng từ Mê-sa cho đến Xơ-pha, ngọn núi phía đông.

31Đó là các con ông Sêm, theo dòng họ, tiếng nói, theo đất nước, dân tộc của họ.

32Đó là các dòng họ của con cái ông Nô-ê, theo gia đình, theo dân tộc của họ. Con cháu họ đã phân tán thành các dân tộc trên mặt đất, sau hồng thuỷ.
