1And the Lord said to Moses: Now thou shalt see what I will do to Pharao: for by a mighty hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he cast them out of his land.

2And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord,

3That appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty; and my name ADONAI I did not shew them.

4And I made a covenant with them, to give them the land of Chanaan, the land of their pilgrimage wherein they were strangers.

5I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, wherewith the Egyptians have oppressed them: and I have remembered my covenant.

6Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the Lord who will bring you out from the work prison of the Egyptians, and will deliver you from bondage: and redeem you with a high arm, and great judgments.

7And I will take you to myself for my people, I will be your God: and you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brought you out from the work prison of the Egyptians.

8And brought you into the land, concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and I will give it you to possess, I am the Lord.

9And Moses told all this to the children of Israel: but they did not hearken to him, for anguish of spirit, and most painful work.

10And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

11Go in, and speak to Pharao king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

12Moses answered before the Lord Behold the children of Israel do no hearken to me; and how will Pharao hear me, especially as I am of uncircumcised lips?

13And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and he gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharao the king of Egypt, that they should bring forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14These are the heads of their house by their families. The sons of Rubel the firstborn of Israel: Henoch and Phallu, Hesron and Charmi.

15These are the kindreds of Ruben. The sons of Simeon: Jamuel, and Jamin and Ahod, and Jachin, and Soar, and Saul the son of a Chanaanitess: these are the families of Simeon.

16And these are the names of the sons of Levi by their kindreds: Gerson, and Caath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty seven.

17The sons of Gerson: Lobni and Semei, by their kindreds.

18The sons of Caath: Amram, and Isaar, and Hebron, and Oziel. And the years of Caath’s life were a hundred and thirty-three.

19The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi. These are the kindreds of Levi by their families.

20And Amram took to wife Jochabed his aunt by the father’s side: and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of Amram’s life were a hundred and thirty-seven.

21The sons also of Isaar: Core, and Nepheg, and Zechri.

22The sons also of Oziel: Mizael, and Elizaphan, and Sethri.

23And Aaron took to wife Elizabeth the daughter of Aminadab, sister of Nahason, who bore him Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24The sons also of Core: Aser, and Elcana, and Abiasaph. These are the kindreds of the Corites.

25But Eleazar the son of Aaron took a wife of the daughters of Phutiel: and she bore him Phinees. These are the heads of the Levitical families by their kindreds.

26These are Aaron and Moses, whom the Lord commanded to bring forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their companies.

27These are they that speak to Pharao king of Egypt, in order to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron,

28In the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt.

29And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: I am the Lord: speak thou to Pharao king of Egypt all that I say to thee.

30And Moses said before the Lord: Lo I am of uncircumcised lips, how will Pharao hear me?

1ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê : “Giờ đây ngươi sắp thấy điều Ta làm cho Pha-ra-ô : Bị áp lực của một bàn tay mạnh mẽ, vua ấy sẽ phải thả cho họ đi ; bị áp lực của một bàn tay mạnh mẽ, vua ấy sẽ đuổi họ ra khỏi nước.”

2Thiên Chúa phán với ông Mô-sê : “Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA.

3Ta đã hiện ra với Áp-ra-ham, I-xa-ác và Gia-cóp với tư cách là Thiên Chúa Toàn Năng, nhưng Ta đã không cho họ biết danh của Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA.

4Ta lại còn lập giao ước của Ta với họ để ban cho họ đất Ca-na-an, là đất khách quê người, nơi họ sống như những khách lạ.

5Chính Ta đã nghe thấy tiếng rên siết của con cái Ít-ra-en đang bị người Ai-cập bắt làm nô lệ, và Ta đã nhớ lại giao ước của Ta.

6Vì vậy, ngươi hãy nói với con cái Ít-ra-en : Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA. Ta sẽ cứu các ngươi khỏi phải làm việc khổ sai cho người Ai-cập, sẽ giải thoát các ngươi khỏi làm nô lệ chúng. Ta sẽ giơ cánh tay, dùng uy quyền mà chuộc các ngươi lại.

7Ta sẽ nhận các ngươi làm dân riêng của Ta, và đối với các ngươi, Ta sẽ là Thiên Chúa. Các ngươi sẽ biết rằng Ta, ĐỨC CHÚA, là Thiên Chúa các ngươi, Đấng cứu các ngươi khỏi phải làm việc khổ sai cho người Ai-cập.

8Ta sẽ đưa các ngươi vào miền đất mà Ta đã giơ tay thề sẽ ban cho Áp-ra-ham, I-xa-ác và Gia-cóp. Ta sẽ ban đất ấy cho các ngươi làm sở hữu. Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA.”

9Ông Mô-sê nói thế với con cái Ít-ra-en, nhưng họ không nghe ông Mô-sê, vì ách nô lệ quá nặng nề làm cho họ kiệt sức.

10ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê :

11“Hãy đi nói với Pha-ra-ô, vua Ai-cập, để vua ấy thả con cái Ít-ra-en ra khỏi nước.”

12Nhưng ông Mô-sê thưa trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA : “Chúa coi : con cái Ít-ra-en đã không nghe con ; làm sao Pha-ra-ô lại nghe con, một người ăn nói không được dễ dàng ?”

13ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron, truyền cho hai ông đến gặp con cái Ít-ra-en và gặp Pha-ra-ô, vua Ai-cập, để đưa con cái Ít-ra-en ra khỏi nước Ai-cập.

14Đây là những người làm đầu các gia tộc của họ : con cái ông Rưu-vên, trưởng nam của Ít-ra-en : Kha-nốc, Pa-lu, Khét-rôn, Các-mi. Đó là các thị tộc của ông Rưu-vên.

15Con cái ông Si-mê-ôn : Giơ-mu-ên, Gia-min, Ô-hát, Gia-khin, Xô-kha, Sa-un, con của người đàn bà Ca-na-an. Đó là các thị tộc của ông Si-mê-ôn.

16Đây là tên con cái ông Lê-vi, theo thứ tự trước sau : Ghéc-sôn, Cơ-hát, Mơ-ra-ri. Ông Lê-vi sống được một trăm ba mươi bảy tuổi.

17Con cái của Ghéc-sôn : Líp-ni và Sim-y, với các thị tộc của họ.

18Con cái ông Cơ-hát : Am-ram, Gít-ha, Khép-rôn và Út-di-ên. Ông Cơ-hát sống được một trăm ba mươi ba tuổi.

19Con cái ông Mơ-ra-ri : Mác-li và Mu-si. Đó là các thị tộc của ông Lê-vi theo thứ tự trước sau.

20Ông Am-ram lấy cô mình là bà Giô-khe-vét làm vợ. Bà đã sinh được cho ông hai người con là ông A-ha-ron và ông Mô-sê. Ông Am-ram sống được một trăm ba mươi bảy tuổi.

21Con cái ông Gít-ha : Cô-rắc, Ne-phéc và Dích-ri.

22Con cái ông Út-di-ên : Mi-sa-ên, En-xa-phan và Xít-ri.

23Ông A-ha-ron lấy bà Ê-li-se-va làm vợ. Bà là con gái ông Am-mi-na-đáp và là em gái của ông Nác-sôn. Bà đã sinh được cho ông mấy người con : Na-đáp, A-vi-hu, E-la-da và I-tha-ma.

24Con cái ông Cô-rắc : Át-xia, En-ca-na, A-vi-a-xáp. Đó là các thị tộc của dòng họ Cô-rắc.

25Đó là những người làm đầu các gia tộc Lê-vi, với các thị tộc của họ.

26Chính các ông A-ha-ron và Mô-sê đã được nghe ĐỨC CHÚA phán bảo : “Hãy đem con cái Ít-ra-en ra khỏi đất Ai-cập theo binh ngũ của chúng.”

27Chính các ông Mô-sê và A-ha-ron đã nói với Pha-ra-ô, vua Ai-cập, để đem con cái Ít-ra-en ra khỏi Ai-cập.

28Vào ngày ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê ở đất Ai-cập,

29ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê : “Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA. Ngươi hãy nói lại với Pha-ra-ô, vua Ai-cập, tất cả những gì Ta nói với ngươi.”

30Ông Mô-sê thưa trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA : “Chúa coi : con là người ăn nói không được dễ dàng, làm sao Pha-ra-ô nghe con ?”
