1And all Israel was numbered: and the sum of them was written in the book of the kings of Israel, and Juda: and they were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.

2Now the first that dwelt in their possessions, and in their cities, were the Israelites, and the priests, and the Levites, and the Nathineans.

3And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Juda, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and of Manasses.

4Othei the son of Ammiud, the son of Amri, the son of Omrai, the son of Bonni, of the sons of Phares the son of Juda.

5And of Siloni: Asaia the firstborn, and his sons.

6And of the sons of Zara: Jehuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.

7And of the sons of Benjamin: Sale the son of Mosollam, the son of Oduia, the son of Asana:

8And Jobania the son of Jeroham: and Ela the son of Ozi, the son of Mochori: and Mosallam the son of Saphatias, the son of Rahuel, the son of Jebania:

9And their brethren by their families, nine hundred and fifty-six. All these were heads of their families, by the houses of their fathers.

10And of the priests: Jedaia, Joiarib, and Jachin:

11And Azarias the son of Helcias, the son of Mosollam, the son of Sadoc, the son of Maraioth, the son of Achitob, high priest of the house of God.

12And Adaias the son of Jeroham, the son of Phassur, the son of Melchias, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jezra, the son of Mosollam, the son of Mosollamith, the son of Emmer.

13And their brethren heads in their families a thousand seven hundred and threescore, very strong and able men for the work of the ministry in the house of God.

14And of the Levites: Semeia the son of Hassub the son of Ezricam, the son of Hasebia of the sons of Merari.

15And Bacbacar the carpenter, and Galal, and Mathania the son of Micha, the son of Zechri the son of Asaph:

16And Obdia the son of Semeia, the son of Galal, the son of Idithum: and Barachia the son of Asa, the son of Elcana, who dwelt in the suburbs of Netophati.

17And the porters were Sellum, and Accub, and Telmon, and Ahiman: and their brother Sellum was the prince,

18Until that time, in the king’s gate eastward, the sons of Levi waited by their turns.

19But Sellum the son of Core, the son of Abiasaph, the son of Core, with his brethren and his father’s house, the Corites were over the works of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their families in turns were keepers of the entrance of the camp of the Lord.

20And Phinees the son of Eleazar, was their prince before the Lord,

21And Zacharias the son of Mosollamia, was porter of the gate of the tabernacle of the testimony:

22All these that were chosen to be porters at the gates, were two hundred and twelve: and they mere registered in their proper towns: whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their trust.

23As well them as their sons, to keep the gates of the house of the Lord, and the tabernacle by their turns.

24In four quarters were the porters: that is to say, toward the east, and west, and north, and south.

25And their brethren dwelt in villages, and came upon their sabbath days from time to time.

26To these four Levites were committed the whole number of the porters, and they were over the chambers, and treasures, of the house of the Lord.

27And they abode in their watches round about the temple of the Lord: that when it was time, they might open the gates in the morning.

28And some of their stock had the charge of the vessels for the ministry: for the vessels were both brought in and carried out by number.

29Some of them also had the instruments of the sanctuary committed unto them, and the charge of the fine flour, and wine, and oil, and frankincense, and spices.

30And the sons of the priests made the ointments of the spices.

31And Mathathias a Levite, the firstborn of Sellum the Corite, was overseer of such things as were fried in the fryingpan.

32And some of the sons of Caath their brethren, were over the leaves of proposition, to prepare always new for every sabbath.

33These are the chief of the singing men of the families of the Levites, who dwelt in the chambers, by the temple, that they might serve continually day and night in their ministry.

34The heads of the Levites, princes in their families, abode in Jerusalem.

35And in Gabaon dwelt Jehiel the father of Gabaon, and the name of hill wife was Maacha:

36His firstborn son Abdon, and Sur, and Cis, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,

37Gedor also, and Ahio, and Zacharias, and Macelloth.

38And Macelloth beget Samaan: these dwelt over against their brethren in Jerusalem, with their brethren.

39Now Ner beget Cia: and Cis begot Saul: and Saul beget Jonathan and Melchisua, and Abinadab, and Esbaal.

40And the son of Jonathan, was Meribbaal: and Meribbaal beget Micha.

41And the sons of Micha, were Phithon, and Melech, and Tharaa, and Ahaz.

42And Ahaz beget Jara, and Jara beget Alamath, and Azmoth, and Zamri. And Zamri beget Mesa.

43And Mesa beget Banaa: whose son Raphaia beget Elasa: of whom was born Asel.

44And heel had six sons whose names are, Ezricam, Bochru, Ismahel, Saria, Obdia, Hanan: these are the sons of Asel.

1Toàn dân Ít-ra-en đã được đăng bộ và ghi vào sách các vua Ít-ra-en và Giu-đa ; họ bị đày sang Ba-by-lon vì đã làm những điều gian ác.

2Những người đầu tiên được cư ngụ trên các phần đất gia nghiệp trong các thành của họ là những người Ít-ra-en, các tư tế, các thầy Lê-vi và những người phục vụ Đền Thờ.

3Cư ngụ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem là một số con cháu Giu-đa, con cháu Ben-gia-min, con cháu Ép-ra-im và Mơ-na-se.

4Ông U-thai con của A-mi-hút, con của Om-ri, con của Im-ri, con của Ba-ni trong số con cháu ông Pe-rét, con ông Giu-đa.

5Trong số các người Si-lô có A-xa-gia con đầu lòng và các con ông.

6Trong số con cháu ông De-rác có Giơ-u-ên và các anh em ông ; tất cả là sáu trăm chín mươi người.

7Trong số con cháu Ben-gia-min có Xa-lu con của Mơ-su-lam, con của Hô-đáp-gia, con của Ha Xơ-nu-a ;

8Gíp-nơ-gia con của Giơ-rô-kham ; Ê-la con của Út-di, con của Mích-ri ; Mơ-su-lam con của Sơ-phát-gia, con của Rơ-u-ên, con của Gíp-ni-gia.

9Anh em của họ, tính theo gia phả, là chín trăm năm mươi sáu người. Tất cả đều là những người đứng đầu các gia tộc tổ tiên họ.

10Trong số các tư tế có Giơ-đa-gia, Giơ-hô-gia-ríp, Gia-khin ;

11A-dác-gia con của Khin-ki-gia, con của Mơ-su-lam, con của Xa-đốc, con của Mơ-ra-giốt, con của A-khi-túp quản đốc Nhà Thiên Chúa.

12A-đa-gia con của Giơ-rô-kham, con của Pát-khua, con của Man-ki-gia, Ma-xai con của A-đi-ên, con của Giác-dê-ra, con của Mơ-su-lam, con của Mơ-si-lê-mít, con của Im-me.

13Họ có anh em đứng đầu các gia tộc tổ tiên họ là một ngàn bảy trăm sáu mươi anh hùng dũng sĩ được chỉ định phục dịch Nhà Thiên Chúa.

14Trong các thầy Lê-vi có Sơ-ma-gia, con của Kha-súp, con của Át-ri-cam, con của Kha-sáp-gia thuộc hàng con cháu ông Mơ-ra-ri ;

15Bác-bắc-ca, Khe-rét, Ga-lan, Mát-tan-gia, con của Mi-kha, con của Dích-ri, con của A-xáp ;

16Ô-vát-gia con của Sơ-ma-gia, con của Ga-lan, con của Giơ-đu-thun ; Be-réc-gia, con của A-xa, con của En-ca-na là người cư ngụ trong các thôn làng của người Nơ-tô-pha.

17Các người giữ cửa là Sa-lum, Ắc-cúp, Tan-môn, A-khi-man. Ông Sa-lum, anh em của họ, là người đứng đầu.

18Cho đến bây giờ họ còn túc trực tại cửa ngọ môn, bên phía đông. Họ là những người giữ cửa các doanh trại con cháu Lê-vi.

19Ông Sa-lum con của Cô-rê, con của Ép-gia-xáp, con của Cô-rắc và các anh em cùng thuộc gia đình Cô-rắc, thì lo công việc phục dịch của người giữ cửa Lều, cũng như cha ông họ có trách nhiệm giữ lối vào doanh trại ĐỨC CHÚA.

20Ông Pin-khát con của E-la-da xưa kia đã từng là quản đốc của họ –xin ĐỨC CHÚA ở với ông–

21cũng như ông Dơ-khác-gia con ông Mơ-se-lem-gia đã từng là người giữ cửa vào Lều Hội Ngộ.

22Tổng số những người được tuyển chọn để canh cửa là hai trăm mười hai người. Những người này được đăng bộ tại các thôn làng của họ, nhưng đã được vua Đa-vít và thầy thị kiến Sa-mu-en cắt đặt vĩnh viễn.

23Những người này và con cháu họ có nhiệm vụ canh giữ Nhà ĐỨC CHÚA, tức Nhà Lều.

24Có các người giữ cửa tại bốn hướng : đông, tây, nam, bắc.

25Anh em của họ, những người cư ngụ tại các thôn làng, thì lâu lâu phải đến với họ một tuần,

26vì có bốn người cai cửa thường trực ; họ đều là những thầy Lê-vi được chỉ định trông coi các phòng ốc và các kho bạc Nhà Thiên Chúa.

27Họ nghỉ đêm chung quanh Nhà Thiên Chúa, vì họ phải trông coi Nhà ấy, và sáng nào cũng phải mở cửa.

28Trong số họ có mấy người được chỉ định trông coi các đồ thờ ; họ phải đếm những thứ này lúc đưa vô đưa ra.

29Một số khác được chỉ định trông coi các vật dụng, tất cả đồ thánh, tinh bột, rượu, dầu, hương và thuốc thơm.

30Trong số con cái hàng tư tế có người lo pha chế dầu thơm.

31Ông Mát-tít-gia, một thầy Lê-vi, con đầu lòng ông Sa-lum, thuộc gia đình Cô-rắc, có nhiệm vụ thường xuyên nướng bánh trên vỉ.

32Trong số các anh em của họ thuộc gia đình Cơ-hát, có người lo dọn bánh tiến các ngày sa-bát.

33Đây là các ca sĩ, những người đứng đầu các gia đình Lê-vi, được ở trong các phòng ốc, được miễn mọi việc khác, vì ngày đêm họ phải lo phận vụ của họ.

34Những người đó là những người đứng đầu các gia đình Lê-vi, đứng đầu theo dòng họ của mình ; họ cư ngụ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.

35Cư ngụ tại Ghíp-ôn có ông tổ của dòng họ Ghíp-ôn là Giơ-y-ên, với người vợ là Ma-a-kha ;

36con đầu lòng của ông là Áp-đôn, rồi Xua, Kít, Ba-an, Ne, Na-đáp,

37Gơ-đo, Ác-giô, Dơ-khác-gia, Mích-lốt.

38Mích-lốt sinh Sim-am ; cả các người này nữa cũng như anh em của họ đều cư ngụ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem cùng với anh em mình.

39Ông Ne sinh Kít, Kít sinh Sa-un, Sa-un sinh Giơ-hô-na-than, Man-ki Su-a, A-vi-na-đáp, Ét-ba-an.

40Con Giơ-hô-na-than là Mơ-ríp-ba-an ; Mơ-ríp-ba-an sinh Mi-kha.

41Các con của Mi-kha là : Pi-thôn, Me-léc, Tác-rê-a.

42A-khát sinh Gia-ra, Gia-ra sinh A-le-mét, Át-ma-vét, Dim-ri ; Dim-ri sinh Mô-xa.

43Rơ-pha-gia con ông, En-a-xa con ông, A-xên con ông.

44A-xên được sáu người con có tên như sau : Át-ri-cam con đầu lòng, rồi Gít-ma-ên, Sơ-ác-gia, Ô-vát-gia, Kha-nan. Những người đó đều là con ông A-xên.
