1设筵满屋，大家相争， 不如有块干饼，大家相安。

2仆人办事聪明，必管辖贻羞之子， 又在众子中同分产业。

3鼎为炼银，炉为炼金； 惟有耶和华熬炼人心。

4行恶的，留心听奸诈之言； 说谎的，侧耳听邪恶之语。

5戏笑穷人的，是辱没造他的主； 幸灾乐祸的，必不免受罚。

6子孙为老人的冠冕； 父亲是儿女的荣耀。

7愚顽人说美言本不相宜， 何况君王说谎话呢？

8贿赂在馈送的人眼中看为宝玉， 随处运动都得顺利。

9遮掩人过的，寻求人爱； 屡次挑错的，离间密友。

10一句责备话深入聪明人的心， 强如责打愚昧人一百下。

11恶人只寻背叛， 所以必有严厉的使者奉差攻击他。

12宁可遇见丢崽子的母熊， 不可遇见正行愚妄的愚昧人。

13以恶报善的， 祸患必不离他的家。

14纷争的起头如水放开， 所以，在争闹之先必当止息争竞。

15定恶人为义的，定义人为恶的， 这都为耶和华所憎恶。

16愚昧人既无聪明， 为何手拿价银买智慧呢？

17朋友乃时常亲爱， 弟兄为患难而生。

18在邻舍面前击掌作保 乃是无知的人。

19喜爱争竞的，是喜爱过犯； 高立家门的，乃自取败坏。

20心存邪僻的，寻不着好处； 舌弄是非的，陷在祸患中。

21生愚昧子的，必自愁苦； 愚顽人的父毫无喜乐。

22喜乐的心乃是良药； 忧伤的灵使骨枯干。

23恶人暗中受贿赂， 为要颠倒判断。

24明哲人眼前有智慧； 愚昧人眼望地极。

25愚昧子使父亲愁烦， 使母亲忧苦。

26刑罚义人为不善； 责打君子为不义。

27寡少言语的，有知识； 性情温良的，有聪明。

28愚昧人若静默不言也可算为智慧； 闭口不说也可算为聪明。

1Better a dry morsel in quietnessthan a house full of feastingwith strife.

2A wise servant will rule over a disgraceful sonand share his inheritance as one of the brothers.

3A crucible for silver and a furnace for gold,but the LORD is the tester of hearts.

4A wicked man listens to evil lips;a liar gives ear to a destructive tongue.

5He who mocks the poor insults their Maker;whoever gloats over calamity will not go unpunished.

6Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,and the glory of a son is his father.

7Eloquent words are unfit for a fool;how much worse are lying lips to a ruler!

8A bribe is a charm to its giver;wherever he turns, he succeeds.

9Whoever conceals an offense promotes love,but he who brings it up separates friends.

10A rebuke cuts into a man of discernmentdeeper than a hundred lashes cut into a fool.

11An evil man seeks only rebellion;a cruel messenger will be sent against him.

12It is better to meet a bear robbed of her cubsthan a fool in his folly.

13If anyone returns evil for good,evil will never leave his house.

14To start a quarrel is to release a flood;so abandon the dispute before it breaks out.

15Acquitting the guilty and condemning the righteous—both are detestable to the LORD.

16Why should the fool have money in his handwith no intention of buying wisdom?

22A joyful heart is good medicine,but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

23A wicked man takes a covert bribeto subvert the course of justice.

24Wisdom is the focus of the discerning,but the eyes of a fool wander to the ends of the earth.

25A foolish son brings grief to his fatherand bitterness to her who bore him.

26It is surely not good to punish the innocentor to flog a noble for his honesty.

27A man of knowledge restrains his words,and a man of understanding maintains a calm spirit.

28Even a fool is considered wise if he keeps silent,and discerning when he holds his tongue.
